Pizza and a beer for $ 9 – 10. Heck yes. I was wholly pleased with this experience. I enjoyed the casual environment from which to imbibe my tasty adult beverage and my pizza was made quickly and tasted great. I hung out a bit solo and didn’t feel weird here. Good people watching with the big glass windows.

It’s a mod, mod, pizza world! I wanted to give this place a couple of tries before reviewing it. My office likes to order from here to reward us for when our sales team does well. The first time, I ordered the Tristan, which is supposed to have red peppers, mushrooms and pesto. I also got the gluten free crust. While I was impressed with the crust, which is crispy and tasty, and barely different from a «normal» crust, the rest of the pizza was disappointing. The biggest issue was that they left off the pesto, which didn’t make me too happy. It was more like a cheese pizza with a very small amount of toppings. I realize, however, that doing a large order for an office is probably difficult and not the same as ordering in person, especially given the mostly great reviews on here. This week, we ordered again and I had the Lucy Sunshine with a gluten free crust. The toppings on this one are parmesan, artichokes, garlic and little dollops of red sauce. I’m happy to report it was very good this go round! The crust was excellent, again, and the toppings were plentiful. It was chewy, crispy, and I could really taste the garlic and artichokes. I’m hoping to visit in person one of these days as I can only imagine how tasty this would be if it was piping hot from their ovens rather than served warm and in a delivery box at my office. Molto bene!

I had the Casey and it was absolutely delicious! The fig glaze and Brussels sprouts are what made it a hit. It’s like a subway for flat crust pizza so fun and well priced restaurant. Definitely try it!

Another chain fooling people into what real pizza is. Toppings were nice, but the crust, sauce and cheese were on par with Papa John crap. Maybe this explains why they’re never busy. There are a handful of pizza places that make good pizza in Portland. This isn’t one of them. Then again most Portlandians think Olive Garden is real Italian food also.

We stumbled upon this place the other day. We were so hungry and it was so tasty that I forgot to take a photo :) We ordered a Mad Dog and Jasper, but I think anything you order would taste great, and their thin crust is perfect to boot!

I stopped in here when I was on vacation. I am a very picky eater so I am always skeptical of new places, but this place was amazing. By far, some of the best pizza I have ever had. My boyfriend and I split a $ 7.47 pizza. The guy working went above and beyond to explain how MOD Pizza worked and offered up topping suggestions based on what we got. I wish we had MOD Pizza in Florida. I have been craving it since I left Portland.

My first time here! 9o clock of a Saturday night but it wasn’t too busy! They did mess up my pizza’s crust a bit but I was in good mood so didn’t care much! I like the idea of have the choice of picking my own topping!

Love, love, love this place. Clean and relaxed environment. Friendly, and happy staff. Made to order pizza; think subway but pizza. Pick from a couple dozen of different toppings. And the price, $ 7.47 for a personal size pizza, that’s big enough to split with someone. They offer bottled and draft beer, specialty sodas, Coca Cola fountain drinks and really good iced teas and lemonade. You need this place in your life. Enjoy.

My work is close to MOD so I end up going there fairly often for lunch. It’s a good option for something quick. They have a wide variety of topping options to choose from and no limits on how many you can choose. Wait time is usually not too bad. They’re milkshakes aren’t half bad either. Service wise everyone is really nice and friendly. I’m always greeted as I walk in and asked how I am or how my day is going. The only thing that stinks is lately they’ve(especially this one girl in particular) puts a crazy small amount of toppings on. I asked for onions and green peppers and she literally put ONE onion ring on my pizza and only enough green pepper pieces so each slice had 2 – 3 pieces. Other than that if you’re looking for a quick bite it’s definitely not a bad option.

Pizza the way you want it. It’s like the chipotle of pizzas. The price is right for the personal pie. It’s pretty tasty and made to order as you walk the toppings line. So many choices of what to put in your pie.

There are so many different build-your-own pizza places in LA but when we ran across MOD Pizza in Downtown Portland, we thought we’d give it a try. I’m glad we did because it was excellent. First, the service was great. The 2 guys working the pizza line were very helpful in giving suggestions and also explaining to us that they do not charge for additional toppings. I tried the Mad Dog with added banana peppers. My boyfriend had the Caspian and my best friend had the Dominic. Everyone loved their choice! What sets MOD apart from places like Pizza Rev and Blaze, is their crust. It was still fairly thin but of good consistency. I also liked that it didn’t get mushy in the center. There are also 2 sizes that you can get. The smaller one is equivalent to one large slice and the larger one is about 4 really large slices. We all ordered the larger one and finished the whole thing! The fresh lemonade was also delicious! I’m so glad to now know there is one in North Hollywood! Woo!

I am super impressed with MOD so far. You can choose your size and type of pizza, or you can build your own. It’s quick, delicious, and the staff is super friendly. It’s an amazing bang-for-your buck.

This place is awesome. Pizza any way you want it. Fresh ingredients and lots of it. Last visit I stepped up and had a custom salad… The staff is always fun and friendly!

I was already a big fan of Mod Pizza and used to drive from SE Portland to Beaverton because that was their closest location to me. Now that they have their new downtown location, I am really happy. It’s so much closer and easier for me to get to that I don’t even mind having to pay for a parking spot on the street! I really like it that they have the«mini size» pizza because that’s the perfect size for one person and it costs about the same as a typical hamburger at a fast food place. I love their thin crust and their method of letting customers choose whatever ingredients they want all for the same price. Lately, in an effort to eat a(somewhat) balanced diet, I’ve been choosing to have a HUGE layer of spinach under all the usual meats and stuff. This definitely satisfies my «vegetable requirement» for a meal! Hmmm, let’s see: good pizza, fair prices, the place is nice and clean, and all the employees I’ve encountered there have been really friendly.. .I think that covers everything.

I really liked the pizza here, the simple flexible layout gives groups of pizza eaters exactly what each person wants. I feel you also get a fair price for a decent amount of food. The staff was friendly, answered questions and kept a nice conversation.

Not the best pizza I’ve ever had. In terms of food it’s a 3 star pizza. But service and attitude is what pushed it to 4 stars for me. Very friendly staff, quick and efficient taking my order, and it comes out pretty quick for pizza. When my name was called to get my personal pizza the young lady said«Yours got a little too crispy around the edges so we started a new one for you, but I wanted to give you this one if you want to munch on while you wait.» Why do I love this attitude so much? Because they didn’t do what most places do: trash the messed up order, not bother to tell the customer, and then give a half a$$ed apology when the food is ready. They also asked if I wanted to eat the«burned one.» Pretty awesome! I’ll give them another shot any day.

The service is OK at best. I’ve been here three times and each time they are so aloof, you’d think you were in some artisanal coffee shop. Guess what: it’s a chain that tries too hard to be hip and cool. Just be yourself and everything will work out just fine. Now to the«meat» of the one star. The layout of toppings is backwards. They assume that you want«mozzarella and red sauce, right?». No, actually I don’t. The second assumption is that you want meat, as its second in line. I did, but others may not. If they simply flip the meat and vegetables around and consolidate the cheese and sauces together, they would be setup for a much more efficient experience for both customers and employees. The best part happened when one of the employees actually said, «That doesn’t matter, we don’t change gloves between pizzas anyway.» Goodbye Mod Pizza. Your pizza was OK, but your attitude stinks.

Decent regional chain restaurant. Sort of like Chipotle(or Subway) with its approach of individualizing your pizza. $ 4.75 for a small customized pie(with tons of toppings to choose from including anchovies!) is a good deal and the young hipster boys that work here are friendly and the service is fast — the pie takes less than ten minutes to reach your table. All in all, while not the best pizza in town, its novel approach and good prices make Mod a welcome addition to Portland.
