My favorite pizza place! I am no connosewer, but the pizza fills the hole, reasonably priced, filling, and tastes good too! All other considerations are grandiose self-stimulation! Get over yourself!

The pizza is amazing and they are very friendly. I have to say I could eat like a lot of slices there and never stop because it is SOGOOD!

Good customer service. Pizza was fresh out the oven. Not too think, not too thin. Ordered a 12″ and felt like we got upgraded to a 15″. It was a great portion, shared it with my boyfriend.

I’ve been eating at Rovente on and off for years now. The pizza is fair, and it’s close enough to work that I can grab a slice when in a hurry. They also are pretty solid when it comes to needing something catered for a late night at the office. Never had a bad experience here and while I have had better pizza I have also had much worse. Hows’ that for a noncommittal review? I’m shooting for middle of the road here!

Couldn’t have said it better than Geoffrey U.: this is utility grade pizza. It’s fine for kids who don’t know the difference or adults who are just nearby and drunk-eating. It is what it is. This is just not good pizza. It’s slightly better than Dominos or Papa John’s etc., but not by much. If PDX gets pegged as having bad«local» pizza it’s because of places like Rovente, not Pizzicato. Regardless, life is too short for this quality of pizza.

I ate at the downtown location once and the pizza was okay. I prefer MOD Pizza or Pieology.

This is utility grade pizza. Perfectly suited to a little league team or any other crew of starving 10 year olds. If you’re an adult looking for real quality pizza, there are many far, far better options in the area.

Very good service and the pizza was amazing too! I was accidentally overcharged by a very small amount when I ordered for delivery. When the delivery boy arrived and noticed the incorrect charge amount, he was very adamant about getting it corrected for me. I assured him that it was not a big deal, considering it was only a dollar over, but he insisted. About an hour later I got a call from the manager to correct the error. I was very impressed by their service and eagerness to do the right thing. I will definitely be ordering from them again.

From Tacoma made the trip to Portland just for this Pizza, amazing dough, good sauce, good toppings, and great price by the slice. Way to go Portland you have a great pizza establishment.

Excellent customer service, on time delivery, great quality ingredients. Crust is flavorful — not too thick or too thin. Not too saucy but saucy enough and very flavorful toppings. I had a half margherita and half carnivore delight. The vegeterian margherita was simple but flavorful and the carnivore was meaty but not greasy! A great combination!

Within walking distance of my hotel(Embassy Suites), I found this restaurant via Unilocal. For $ 35, we were able to get two soft drinks, cheesy garlic bread, and an XL Carnivore Delite($ 29). The sodas are free refills, and they had root beer, thank goodness(hard to find, believe it or not!)! The pizza was okay. My favorite thin crust pizza place is Pink’s Pizza in Houston(and yes, I’ve had pizza in NYC). I like Pink’s because of its flavorful sauce — unsalty and slightly sweet. Rovente Pizzeria is salty, but it’ll do if you are hungry late at night. There’s no sweetness to the sauce, and I don’t really taste any herbs(oregano, basil, etc). The cheesy garlic bread was okay. I could’ve use more melted cheese throughout the bread. You could definitely tell everything was placed on top, and the bread didn’t seemed buttered prior to baking. So, this place is an okay pizza. It’s not terrible. Be forewarned there are a bunch of folded boxes right outside the place for homeless people. There’s some interesting people watching to be done while eatiing!

As any other good Portlander, I love a good pizza. Unfortunately, Rovente always leaves me a little disappointed. This isn’t to say it’s bad pizza, rather, it’s just not impressive enough to keep me coming back. That being said, they have a great selection of pizzas to choose from, so you’re bound to find something you like. My main complaint with this place is that the pizzas are always so greasy. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good greasy pie, but this is always just too much. I usually have to grab a paper towel and try to dab the extra grease off the top otherwise I would be overwhelmed. My office uses Rovente as the go-to pizza place for our meetings, so obviously some people really like this place, it’s just not for me. However, Rovente, is very fast. They know how to get a pizza in and out of their ovens in a flash. We’ve never had to wait long at all to get food, which I really appreciate. Overall, they are fast and have a good section, but everything is just too greasy for my personal tastes.

Stumbled by this place in search of beer and pizza pie. Ended up getting a sausage and mushroom pizza. It was good enough where I would give the place another try.

A cheap slice on thin crust with a good helping of sauce, cheese and maybe a topping or two. That’s all I ask for in a slice. This is my go-to when I want just a slice and sadly can’t fly back to NYC to grab one, or have time to head up to NW23rd. Definitely worth a small detour if you like NY-style pizza by the slice. I think they sell pies too…

We were craving some ‘za on a typical Portland Sunday; chilly and rainy so we found Rovante which was about 3 blocks from the Nines where we were staying. Walked in and decided on a large pepperoni with mushrooms and olives on ½. Didn’t take long for a crispy, piping hot pizza to be ready, so needless to say we dove right. It was delicious! Really enjoyed in. Super cool people that also work there but it could. Have been a little cleaner. Otherwise I’d recommend!

I was in Portland for work and had a meeting over lunch. The guy I was meeting with suggested we walk over to Rovente. We arrived around 1215p and there were a few folks in line ahead of us but made it through quickly. I got two slices — one chicken and one pepperoni. Both very, very good foldable NY style pizza. The slices were around $ 3.50 each, with a diet coke it came to around $ 9 — very reasonable for a good lunch downtown. One slight drawback: they charge $ 0.25 for fountain drink refills, but still four stars.
