This shop is already with a solo trip to Alberta district for. The shop owner is extremely friendly and designs the things in the shop herself. There are many awesome things but what stood out to me the most was the cards. There are cards for almost every occassion that are unique and clever. They are very well designed and some will make your heart melt. I also recommend visiting the nearby connected shops. Every shop is unique and truly the type of small business I would want to support.

I was looking for fun birthday cards that I could put my company logo on, and I found the right place and the right people at Redbird Studio. Mel and Paul were a joy to work with and quickly did a marvelous job. Based on my experience, they are passionate about what they do, and good at it, too.

I’m a sucker for letter press, cool cards, and other paper products with cool designs and a nice tactile feel. Redbird Studio is such a place and with a few sewed versions as a bonus. I ended up with a nice pad of note paper and almost pulled the trigger on a few other things from this really cool local Portland business. Next time. As a bonus, Redbird Studio in connected internally with the HiiH(Lights) and Guardino Galleries. I really enjoyed wandering around through all that artistic contrast.

Wonderful and original stationary and clothing items — especially fun items for the little ones like handmade bird rattles, fun onesies, and more. A great place to pick up a card and a prize for someone special. Support this local business!

The cards were so adorable. I want to throw a party just to send out invitations on their cards. Or stock up on birthday cards for the year. Or commission their designers to make a logo for me. Gotta love places that do their thing so well that you have no trouble parting with you money.

This is the most adorable store on Alberta! Especially if you like little hand made artsy items. Cool greeting cards with messages and hand drawn illustrations that don’t insult your intelligence. Very cute reversible hats made from reclaimed fabrics, think vintage upholstery and dresses. Also, great silk screened shirts and hand bags, all cleverly designed and hand sewn. I am especially partial to the classic Lambretta scooter t-shirt! :-)

This little shop near my house is the perfect place to find locally-made cards for all different occasions. I went there recently to buy a card for a friend’s birthday — she’s a knitter and I found her a card with a monkey knitting a sock — perfect! But then I looked and saw that they also had handmade earrings and I ended up buying a pair for her and getting the card free via their«Choose Local» Portland card special. Perfect!

I love this little shop. Inside the window display, you’ll see hand made silk screened tshirts and baby outfits. Plus a few well designed cards. Inside the store you’ll find locally designed and printed hand made art, including cards, notebooks, notepads, stickers, origami paper, stationary, ornanments, purses, tshirts, baby clothes, jewelry and artwork adorning the walls. My personal favorite is the knitting bag that states, «knitters have balls» complete with a picture of a ball of yarn. This is hilarious, and a perfect gift for those outrageous grannies in your life(or friends, Moms, closet knitters, etc.). I also loved the typewriter designs featuring not one, not two but four different old models of typewriters. I also loved the 6 pack of bicycle themed cards. My favorite part of these is what is on the inside(you’ll have to see for yourself). There are two artists who design the stuff, and they print it all in the shop as well. This is a great local store with reasonably priced cards(and an incredible variety of cards) and adorable kids clothes. There are bicycle designs, birdie designs, and just plain cool designs. A quintessential example of local shopping at its best. The art is fun, and you’ll be sure to find something for every person and every occasion in there, from age 1 to 101.

This little shop is full of surprises. I was drawn in my the display of cards, and was pleasantly surprised by all of the other little baubles available for my purchasing. They’ve got rad ass tees with snappy sayings, funky jewelry and more. Definitely work stopping in to check out.

Redbird Studio is a store of entirely handmade things designed, created, and crafted by owners Paul Evans and Melissa Rau. Their stationary and card line dominates the retail space – each card is hand drawn and watercolored. In addition to the stationary line, they have lots of accessories and gifts for kids and adults alike. There were several cute silk-screened shirts for your cute and hip youngster with tongue and cheek slogans that scream Portland, such as «Knitting Takes Balls!»
