Collage on Alberta

This place is a paradise for all you artsy, crafty people out there. If you live around Portland and/​or visiting Portland, you should definitely check out this spot. You’ll find art supplies, stationery, stamps, jewelry supplies, pens, books, random cool things/​gifts. If I weren’t on a time crunch to get to the airport, I can easily spend hours here.

Great craft store! Found everything I needed and SO much more. They have a great selection comparable to what you would find in a big box craft store — but they’re local! Score! Great place for little gift ideas too.

This place is like a treasure for a crafter! I happened to walk into their store on a last Thursday on Alberta. I found a ton of great trinkets for a collage project I was doing. They were many items that were unique here and can’t be found at a big box store. I can’t wait to come back here!

Be certain that you know exactly what you’re getting into with every single product as they won’t accept returns or even offer store credit if your item did not perform as described. Won’t be going back.

Stumbled in here while taking a day trip to Portland. I could have spent HOURS in this store. So many little knick knacks, art supplies, decorations, card stock, trinkets, jewelry supplies, anything your crafting heart could desire. It’s actually quite a bit bigger than what it looks like from the outside, and filled to the brim with things to look at (and buy of course). Wish we had this store back in Chicago!

I just love Collage. It’s got everything you need and nothing you don’t.

I don’t know when exactly it happened– maybe when they expanded into the classroom?– but at some point this store went from amazing to kinda meh. The staff used to be warm, friendly and knowledgeable, and they had treasures hidden in every nook and cranny of the space. I’d have to go through my full basket and put stuff back as not to blow my entire paycheck in one shopping trip.
Now there’s a whole lot of stuff, but I often leave empty handed. It’s not a bad store, but it’s no longer anything special. I’ve been a customer since they opened on SE Woodstock, but the last several times I’ve gone in I’ve left disappointed and ventured elsewhere for my needs.

The shop is a nice sized space for an independent creative supply store. They had a good variety of supplies for almost all art mediums I could think of: screen printing, painting, crafts, scrapbooking, children’s arts/​crafts, home décor, etc. There are some less costly items you can decorate or modify yourself but most items are marked at regular suggested retail.

Egods! It’s Wiseacre’s Wizarding Equipment, right here on Alberta. You will make magic if you buy ANYthing in this amazing store. All the things I have ever tried to find (dog tags for embossing, the chain for turning it into a necklace, all kinds of charms) all in one FAB store.
The staff is extremely helpful and by golly, well versed in their products.
You simply have to enter and wander around for a multitude of ideas to pop into your head. I decided to make homemade Valentine’s Day cards using many items I got in their sale area (a total SCORE, don’t miss it). I found it to be a perfect crafting store, not sure if high end artists would feel their needs addressed, but it should most definitely be checked out.

I was a bigger fan when they offered classes, it is so hard to make friends in PDX when you are older than 20 something and not a drinker /​are a homebody. The classes gave me a chance to kind of socialize and made for fun date day excursions. But I can’t begrudge anyone a business model change. I love that they have dollhouse miniatures and amazing craft things/​ideas you won’t find at commercial stores. I still shop the big chains for your every day run of the mill things, and of course fabric (esp since there are nice teacher discounts to be had at those places) but Collage gets a big chunk of my spending cash because they carry the unique, oddities and a great selection with friendly and available staff.

The service here is awesome. I got very personable and expert advice on fabric dyes today. Selection is great despite the size of the store and the quality is top notch. I can’t imagine going to Blick’s again! Shop local :)

Good selection overall. I do wish they had more stamps. Also, some of their prices seem kind of high.

Most amazing collection and selection of crafts, both traditional and eclectic in scope. Store is well organized and crammed full of things to be discovered. Nice waitstaff greets you and makes themselves available for questions and guidance.
Pens, paper, paint. And then everything else you need to create whatever you want. Including doll eyes that open and shut when you move them, old film slides of race cars and endless sizes of glass bottles.
Great theme based selection for Halloween and more importantly Day of the Dead.

I love this place! Great for pretty much whatever arts & crafts supply you can think of.
Initially I discovered Collage on Alberta while looking for a Michael’s /​AC Moore type craft store — I’ll admit I assumed that a big chain would have a better selection. I was initially wary in seeing how small the store was, but I was so wrong — Collage has everything you could think of, well curated in a small space. Truly, it really is everything you want and nothing you don’t.
I honestly have never had a negative experience here — the staff is so helpful, the store is always clean and organized (although they do move sections around occasionally), and the classes were fabulous (I’m so disappointed they stopped doing them). I hope that Collage sticks around for a long, long time!

Another cool little art store. Crafts too. Halloween being the focus right now and it was front and center with Day of the Dead items, sugar skulls and all manors of skeleton items. Stamps, cut outs, washi tape, you get the idea.
The rest of the store has the usual items you’d see at Blick or Michael’s. Paper, kids crafts, stamp pads, paint and brushes. I didn’t know there was a place so close instead of me heading to the Pearl to Blick or up to Janzen Beach to Michael’s, I have a place within six minutes of home. Gotta love convenience.

Great staff and everything you need to make life decorative! They used to have classes but now have added more supply’s !!! Every project gets better with a trip to Collage!

I decided to start drawing and painting again, after quite few years, I used to paint but just for hobby, not on a professional level. I was looking for a place to start getting all my supplies and this place is exactly what I needed and has all I was looking for.
I love the section where there are all those charcoals, the different pencils and inks that you can try and play with a bit. They have greats things on sale and lots of different tools for doing your own hobby and craft things, imaginable, if you do not have an idea of what to start yet, here you get the inspiration. I am looking to start doing some of these little classes they offer, am curious about them and will definitely give it a try, I am also taking my little nephew here next time, he has an artistic spirit, see if I can inspire him to take action!!!

This place is wonderful. A magical land where they cater to almost every craft in the known universe. If I could afford to buy more things, I’d give it 5 stars… and I still may. But there’s so much to see and look at for a craft girl or guy! Dollhouse & miniatures, jewelry findings, tools & charms, glitter, tons of cool paper, little plastic creatures, crafty tape, lots of tools and a kids section in back. I adore miniatures so this place always brings a smile to my face.
Been here a couple times, but I finally took a class yesterday. Accordion map books that are so super cute and would make an awesome gift. For only $ 5 you get all the tools and supplies you need as well as a great instructor in Suki, I just adore her! She is a gem. The one hour friday classes are $ 5, other classes here range $ 10 and up. But what an amazing deal and great way to spend a Friday evening! Conveniently located near tons of happy hours, this place is great!
I will be back — to shop and to craft!

This is a great local craft supply store, with a huge specialty paper section in the back. They also have a classroom for lots of great classes– many that are only $ 5 (usually on Friday).
I also like this location because I can get a decent walk (about 1 mile from my apt.) while I go get my crafty fix. The Sellwood location is just a bit too far for that, so I can work on that New Year’s Resolution of being healthier without giving up my crafty addiction.
They have some really good sale’s (sometimes filling up the classroom area with sale merchandise), so I recommend signing up for their email list by the register when you stop by – they let you know all the new merchandise that is coming in and when they are having sale’s + the class schedules.

What a fun bunch of stuff presented in such a cool and organized fashion! Very pleasant and helpful staff.
Great selection of rubber stamps, inks, and a crazy amount of ecclectic ephemera. Also appreciated the full line of Copic marker items, waxes, and bookbinding materials.
I want to put this whole place in a box and ship it to the Boise area!
