I love Pizzicato. I’m a huge fan of their slice and pint deal. Which is why a friend and I stopped in after hiking through SW Portland. Unfortunately, our fun was cut short by a rude employee. We ordered, cheersed and got the camera ready. The waitress Maddie came over with our slices and I asked if she could take a picture for us. This seemed like a simple request as I had the camera ready to snap a quick photo. However, Maddie replied, «I’m working» and stared at us as if we asked her to join a threesome. I turned bright red and asked if she was kidding, she said no and walked away. Well, my advice to Maddie and her manager is that she may not really be the right fit for that company or really for customer service at all. In a time of social media marketing this and other photos could be used for accolades in supporting the eatery, but not if your rude to your customers. I don’t want to be around a place that has a person like Maddie serving customers. I won’t be stopping by there anymore — after all, there are several other places(like Pizza Schmizza) right around the corner. Places that are happy to provide customer experience.

It’s time to write this review. I’ve been going to this location with 3 friends for slices at lunch about once a week over the last couple years. We go early to beat the rush but not too early — basically 12:00 pm on the dot. It used to be pretty good, probably 3.7 stars. Better than average but never mind-blowing when all factors are considered, including price, convenience, ambiance, service… etc. Today it is a solid 2-star place. Now when we arrive, there are usually 6 – 8 pizza trays out. Two always seem to have some weird combination going on, like pineapple, asparagus, squash with bleu cheese drizzle and olive oil instead of sauce(I made that up but it sounds dry and sweet and weird right? So pretty close). One is vegan. One is vegetarian. One is cheese. One is pepperoni, but it’s almost gone. And 1 – 2 used to be a pizza with a semi-normal combination of meat and vegetables on it, but now they are one slice or an empty tray, meaning that by the time I get to the counter, they will be gone. And here’s the thing, I know the secret as to why they will be gone. It’s entirely because THATISWHATPEOPLEWANT! I love vegetables AND meat on my pizza and I’m not opposed to trying new things, but I don’t want craisins or cashew cheese every time I go in(do they serve that? I don’t know… looks like it). Even if I order the weird one, the pizza is thin and short of toppings, so I don’t even feel like I got a good deal on my slice of pine nut, broccoli with gruyère(also made up). Service has always been okay, mostly college students working, so I’m fine with the fact that they’re learning how to provide excellent customer service. Ambiance has always been lacking — it’s cold and hard and echoey — but that’s fine too b/c it’s just pizza, and it’s just lunch. Speaking of, it can be difficult to get a table at lunch — it’s very busy — but again, we expect and accept that. No stars off for those things. But $ 8.00+ for two slices of wimpy pizza that I wish just had any combination of mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce, sausage, pepperoni,(insert any other meat), peppers, mushrooms, onions, olives,(insert any savory vegetable) PLUS all those other things? I can’t do it anymore. If the offerings improve, my review will reflect it. Until then, I guess we’ll move this little shindig somewhere else.

I had been horribly coughing on my bus downtown and the lovely girl was able to ring me up for an orange juice in the 30 seconds I had until my transfer showed up! Thank you thank you thank you! You saved me day!

Coming home from a day at work and lengthy bus commute, I was feeling wrung out and cranky. I was in a state of mind of wanting to eat nearby or walking home and getting more and more out of sorts with each step. Fortunately I spied Pizzicato, a true beacon in the night and old friend. Stepping in I was greeted by a friendly face who explained their specials, and I ended up with a slice, with olive oil brushed on the cracker-thin crust and topped with artichokes, kalamata olives, tomatoes, and probably more(I was tired, hungry, and ornery and not into analysis), but that $ 5.00 piece of delicious piece of pizza snapped me back into the land of the living. Pizzicato has not only the wonderful pizza, but also many other tasty offerings(salad and sandwiches, for example). Go on over and give it a try. I bet you’re going to like it.

Their pizzas are made with thin crust and do not have enough toppings. I once ordered a chicken pizza and it was mediocre in taste. I could have gone to Nel Centro for a better experience! If you order a medium or small sized pizza, it’s expensive. If you order a slice, it’s affordable. The best thing to do is avoid the place. It is expensive yet lacks the interior decoration to compliment its supposed reputation.

Sigh, not the type of review I like to leave but after my last visit here, wasn’t particularly pleased with my service and annoyed enough to walk to Pizza Schmizza next time I’m here. I found myself here when I had a solid 45 minutes until my next bus came. Plenty of time right? I walk here and am behind three people. It took me over 10 minutes to even get up to ordering. The phone was ringing off the hook and apparently this took precedence over people standing right in front of them. Not cool. I order a beer & a slice — under $ 7 so I’m somewhat mollified. I sit down… and wait. It also took over 10 minutes to get my single slice of pizza. Why is God’s name does it take that long to warm up a slice? Frustrating. I ended up basically eating & walking back to the bus stop because what I thought would be a simple short meal turned into an over 30+ wait time. Da hell. I like Pizzacato & the staff was trying to do their best. They were nice. But so severely understaffed for a busy Friday night. A couple that had clearly been there awhile waiting for their food got up to leave because it took so long for them to get their slices. Another guy had them wrap it up because he’d finished his entire beer before his slice came out. Not what you’d expect from a Pizzacato.

This is a wonderful pizza cart! The lady working was really nice to me, and I also loved their pizza. I would return!

I’m pet sitting nearby. I walked to so I could have a glass of wine while waiting for my order. Then I got to have my pizza and salad with my boss! She’s a miniature long haired dachshund. Great, super fast, friendly service. And wonderful pizza and salad.

Pizzacato has always been consistently good. Many pizzas to choose from. We always have them make it for pick up and they never disappoint. Go on their website and they have monthly deals, in August it was double stamp month so we earned a free large pizza of our choice. I only wish there were more Pizzacato’s in Southeast Portland. 60th and Division is the only one closest to the Gresham area. Very worth the miles to eat great pizza. Staff are always friendly. LOve it!

I am currently enjoying a fabulous pizza prepared by the crew at this location. Preparation presentation and flavors are absolutely outstanding! I previously enjoyed the preparations by the Sellwood location and find this to be as outstanding if not a bit more.

I’ve been to Pizzicato a few times now and think it’s about time for me to write a review. This place has saved me a few times when I find myself on the PSU campus for hours upon hours. I really like that they provide ample seating for us students who like to multitask on the eating and school working thing. The staff have always been quick to greet me and then take my order. What is even better is how quick the food comes out after placing an order. Each time I visit Pizzicato I just have to order the pear salad. This is one of my favorite salads in all of Portland! It is arugula, pears, candied walnuts, and gorgonzola cheese. So good! On the days I am extra famished I order a cup of soup or a slice of pizza to go with my salad. I have always been pleased with these items. I have to say that the salad is defiantly the reason I keep going back to this place. If you happen to be on the PSU campus and feeling super stressed,(maybe midterms or finals week) you can order up a beer, hard cider, or some wine to ease the pain.

What a great experience. Last night, I called in an order to go to be ready for my husband to pick up before the restaurant closed. I’d never gone to this location before. The gentleman who picked up the phone was perfectly lovely, and upon my order not only recommended a pizza topping he thought I’d enjoy, but told me he’d make a single slice along with my main order. So nice. Husband picked it all up as planned… and managed to forget his wallet. we realized this after the restaurant had closed, and frantically called, hoping they’d pick up the line. The same gentleman did, and he had even tried to call me back at my work number! They were so kind and let us run back for the wallet. Oh, and the pizza was delicious. Above and beyond service, great pizza. We will be back.

Made the mistake of thinking this was a REAL pizzeria. I could write more but I’m too pissed to go into details.

Solid quality ingredients for salads and pizza. Thin crust and great dough following Italian tradition. They do great monthly specials with seasonal local ingredients. Salads are great value — sizeable for low price. My go to is the chop salad with teriyaki chicken, a slice of pizza and a pint of local beer. Employees stick around, which says a lot about employee relations.

We landed here for dinner. The pizza was delicious. The crust was crispy, yet had a nice yeasty chew to it. They were very flexible in swapping out toppings to meet our desires and dietary needs.(Our choice was a cheese-less veggie with spinach, mushroom, olives, garlic and artichoke hearts on there tomato sauce.) The location is small. There are 3, 4-top tables and plenty of counter seats. Music was a little loud, and the confined space could make a loud table disruptive to others around them. 3 nice tap selections along with a good variety of canned and bottled beers.

My review is based on the customer service of this location specifically, more than their pizza, but don’t get me wrong, their pizza is great. I had called another location, which I felt was the closest one, it was 8:45 and they were closing at 9:30. I was quickly told they couldn’t deliver to me, and to call the PSU location. I looked up the number, gave them a call, but realized they closed in 10 minutes. The gentleman on the phone told me their delivery driver was out on his last delivery but he could make one more run. I was hesitant about being that«last customer» that everyone hates, so after he reassured me numerous times, and told me, «I’m turning the oven back on… «I made my order, and I sent someone to pick them up to speed up the process. They stayed open just for us, even though they didn’t have to. I ordered 4 pizza’s off their website, and sent my runner with plenty of cash for a tip, but when she came back, she said the amount left only $ 3 for a tip. I called to ask if I was mistaken on the prices, and he explained the website doesn’t list XL size, which they offer and I had indeed ordered, but based the price off the highest on the web menu… Small blip on the process, but these guys were extremely accommodating, and went the extra mile for me overall. And to top it off, the pizza’s were delicious.

Have to start off by saying how nice it was to be CHEERFULLY greeted by the Pizzicato employee, Hailey. She welcomed us with a smile on her face and knows the menu well. She also informed us of daily specials and future weekday specials. The camaraderie in this little restaurant is awesome. The employees are working as a team and very professional with every customer that comes in. All customers were immediately greeted by Hailey and she just seems genuinely okay with being at work on this sunny Saturday afternoon. Travis, the manager, was cool and friendly. He even introduced himself to us and also seemed genuinely happy to be at Pizzicato working. Why not be enthusiastic if you have to be at work?! That seems to be the kick ass attitude of all the workers. Ian came out smiling toward the end of out visit and was equally as pleasant as the other two. We will be back. Pizza was good, beer too. But it was nice to be in a happy atmosphere enjoying tasty pizza and drinking delicious beer. I got the Puttanesca slice and my boyfriend got pepperoni with regular crust. Pretty good even though toppings are light. You have the option of getting whole-wheat crust or gluten-free crust. Gluten-free is extra but the whole wheat crust is the same price. Must end by saying great customer service is sometimes hard to find but we found it today and that is in the top three reasons why will return. The other reasons; good prices for good products and CLEANBATHROOMS!!! THANKYOUEMPLOYEES!!!

It’s pizza time! I just got out of class and I’m famished! Now should I go to Pizzicato or the Hotlips just down 6th? Look at your watch. Is it after 3? If so, you should most definitely come here. The quality of food is great here. And I’m not just talking pizza. Pizzicato does excellent soups and salads. There is a large variety with great options for vegetarians, vegans, celiacs, carnivores, robots, vampires… But where Pizzicato really reaches its peak quality is Happy Hour. We’re talking $ 6 for a slice of pizza and a pint of craft beer. When you consider that most slices are around $ 4, that means you’re getting a beer for $ 2. Nice. Between the variety, freshness, and value, this is your best choice for evening pizza around PSU.
