I am still going to give this particular location 4 out of 5 stars, though I am a bit disappointed that there was NO yogurt selection. MOST pizza joints I have been to at least offer a light vanilla. Not even asking for toppings at this point. Pizza was good though. Service was good. I do think the manager needs to step up his Danon and Yoplait game up a bit. I know a lot of west-coasters like to dip in ranch but a place like this needs to appeal to everyone including yogurt fans…

Five star review for carry out lunch. I’ve only ever come here to grab a few slices to take back to the office during the workweek and it’s a winner. Two large slices of good quality pizza for $ 6-$ 7… where else are you gonna find that value in the Ppppppearl?(said with an aristocratic flair)

Came in here to escape the train and grabbed a slice of pizza. Not what I expected at all for food at a bar. Very fresh, light tasting pizza which is saying a lot since it was loaded with meatsand cheese. The crust was also particularly good for by-the-slice at off-peak hours.

The pizza is terrible and I saw their staff doing some unsanitary things. Won’t be back.

Drinks are fairly priced and of decent size. They DONT do table service on trivia night so I won’t be back for that. The pizza is decent and the burger looks good. It’s a young crowd of twenty something’s so I stood out as Fucking OLD. I like their selection of beers.

This is a pretty nice place to get a slice of pizza in a pinch. The atmosphere is slightly outdated but fine. The ingredients are a another issue, for some reason the roof of my mouth always hurts after wolfing down a slice(Cheap Dough). You thing that they might pass the saving along to you in the for of a reasonable slice, but don’t expect each slice to be cheap(3.50).

The owners are very nice, honest people. The pizzas are always better than expected and with a full bar, it’s always a great experience. My review is admittedly biased as I consider the owners to be my friends. But, my list of friends is short. If you’re looking for a satisfying, casual lunch or dinner spot, this is it. It’s easy to stop in solo or with a group. Bonus: there are plenty of flat screens all around for whatever game or race is on.

A little pizza shop on the corner of 11th and Glisan in the Pearl. Right next to the streetcar stop. This place has lots of potential I feel but every time I’ve had pizza here it’s always been sitting under a heatlamp and then they would just reheat it when I order it so when I take it with me back to the office across the street it’s always cold inside so I can’t even tell if it’s undercooked because the outside is nice and warm, but when you bite into the dough I swear it’s uncooked dough because that’s what it tastes like. Also the prices are a bit too steep I feel for the quality that they give you for lukewarm pizza. But hey at least their beers and alcohol is good! They also have a few TV’s if you’re looking for a place to watch the game. The service isn’t too bad either since it’s just the one register and you walk up ad there usually is a person there to take your order and cash you out when you’re about to leave with your lukewarm pizza and a soda in hand.

2nd timer here, 1st was beer only. I did a Unilocal«check in» and received a $ 2 pizza slice(dough hand rolled fresh, daily). Tight and tidy space on my Pearl District 11th Ave. walk. About a dozen craft beers on tap for $ 3.50 at Happy Hour. Big screens for sports, good music, good groove and friendly. Beer + pizza at happy hour = good value + neato hang out!

Hipster bartender left me hanging w debit card in hand while he stopped to watch a basketball game. Good pizza can’t cover the taste of bad service left in my mouth after that transaction.

Blech. Stale re-heated pizza with big fat unhealthy crusts. The people that work there are very nice, but it doesn’t really compensate for the bad pizza.

Okay, I know that in the past, this location has had its ups and downs. I just recently went out on a limb and gave it one more chance… I was pleasantly Surprised! They are finally properly staffed and doing better than before. The previous owners have left, and the staff has a been working extra hard to re-invent the location as THE upstanding pizza place. Rolling Rock PITCHERS for $ 6.50??? What!!! Hot and tasty pizza by the slice and service with a smile… Much better than what the awkward service I had to endure before from the morning staff. The servers are attentive and welcoming in true Portland style. On both occasions, I really had an amazing time with Josiah and Rosa! Hope you can catch them! I recommend this place for the quick and fun lunch time/last minute dinner experience. Will be back soon :)

A classic pizza joint. When you have a craving for real, home style pizza, this is the place to go. Cool and comfortable. And, very tasty pizza! I had pepperoni — perfect crust and plenty of cheese, just the way I like it. Factor in the ice cold beer — I’ll be back!

Ok, I’m usually a big fan of Pizza Schmizza. I love that I can get a slice and a beer for a reasonable price and just have an easy in/out experience without a lot of fan fare and maybe catch a game. However, this one particular location needs a lot of love. Stay with me here, I’ll get to the good parts later. Please Fix This and you’ll get at least 4 stars. At least. * The central air so you can close the doors and keep the flies away. There were so many flies on this moderately warm day flying around the inside of the place that my wife and daughter had to get up and«shop» elsewhere while I finished my beer and game on TV. They must have landed on me at least 30 times over the course of an hour. * The heat is hot and with a kitchen exposed to the dining room, it doesn’t help. * The roof… it looks old and not appealing. * They call it a «pub» — but their other locations have WAY more beer selections — this one has 4 or 5 taps. * It’s hard to know where to order. You order at the bar(can you take your kids up there too?) But the slices to choose and the menu are back around the side by the kitchen. * It’s got uncomfortable tall seating in the middle of the room. Feels like you’re in the way of the TV or everyone is looking at you. * Did I mention the flies? All I could think of was how many of them vomited on the food and prep surfaces and then ate or defecated it back out. That’s how flies eat, you know. With bugs, if you see one, there are more that you don’t where the real problem is. I’m not convinced it was just the two doors being open. * Because of the type of place this is, the cook kept coming and sitting at the bar to have his water/soda(not alcohol though). That’s a lot of hand washing back in the kitchen, right? Right?! The Good Stuff: * The staff was great. The gal working the bar and taking orders in the dining room was nice, pleasant, listened well, and was helpful. * The food came out promptly and the guy working the ovens seemed like a decent guy too. * The TV’s are fantastically tuned and they will pretty much let you watch whatever. There are a lot in the small place and there were no fights over which college football game to watch! * The food is pretty good. You get a decent pizza and fresh stuff for the price. * You can almost always find some kind of coupon or deal on some social app… I used the Unilocal Check-in deal on this trip and they gave me no trouble or confusion about it. Overall, I will probably go back if I need to duck in for a slice or want a quick place to catch my game or an ok happy hour price… but this place doesn’t match the neighborhood well. If they take care of the flies and clean up the above and match the Pearl District better, then the neighborhood will come down more and they will be packed. There is no reason why they can’t pack it out with all the foot traffic. You guys follow me from two locations on Twitter… this is what I do… call me and we’ll talk. I so want to give this 4 or 5 stars.

I like to go to this Schmizza in particular. It’s katy-corner to a streetcar stop and super easy for me to reach. The food is wonderful considering that I’ve only ever gotten pizza slices. Sometimes I don’t feel a need to mess with perfection, you know? For those not in a pizza mood they also serve salads and pasta. I’m a big fan of the Hawaiian style, with ham and a big pineapple ring right in the middle of your slice. You can get soda, beer, or a mixed drink. They don’t have a lot of room for liquor so the selection is extensive, but they’ve definitely got all the usual suspects. The bar TV is usually turned to the Food Network, which is fun to watch. They have daily specials including a $ 2 slice that changes often.

Have yet to find better pizza in PDX. As a sports guy, I enjoy quite a bit the many TVs and extra friendly service on top of the $ 2 slices and overall great value Schmizza offers. THUMBSWAYUP!

We had appetizers and drinks here the other night while waiting for our table at the«fancy» pizza place a couple blocks away. Big mistake. No, not having appetizers and drinks here, waiting for a table at the other place. The food, drinks and service were all superior at Schmizza for way less than half the price. This place is somewhat of a dive bar, but much brighter. Sure, the pizza isn’t «gourmet» anymore(sorry, but while you’ve majorly improved the pizza, it isn’t nearly what I remember it being when Pizza Schmizza was first starting out west), but it’s still really good for what it is. $ 2 slices of pizza? What do you expect for $ 2? You’re going to get much better food than you’d expect for that, that’s for sure. Don’t go here if you’re expecting gourmet anything, but do go here when you realize that what you actually wanted wasn’t that gourmet pizza and instead, you wanted actual pizza(and other food and drinks and service).
