Delicious personal sized pizza pies. I sat at the bar and had myself a real nice dinner with a shot of Johnny Walker Black and a Margherita pie. Good service and solid ambience, and I couldn’t complain with it being across the street from my corporate apartment.

Yummmmm!!! The salad and pizzas were outstanding! Creative cocktail list and great beers round out the menu. We had the radicchio Caesar salad, the spicy salami pizza and the Bianca pizza. Thin, crispy, savory, delicious!

Great happy hour deals. Not familiar with a lot of the local pizza places but this place was pretty top notch. We got a standard margherita pizza and it was delicious. Even better, it was only $ 7 during happy hour! Would definitely stop in again for happy hour.

This is probably my favorite pizza place. I love coming here for their bizarre but tasty combinations such as the Maple Pig and the Spicy Salami. I do not recommend this place to people who do not like sweet pizzas tho because most of the pizzas that I have tried have been pretty sweet. The pizzas can tend to be expensive and it is not worth getting the«normal» pizzas… However, during happy hour a lot of the pizzas are half priced and a few of the main lunch or dinner pizzas are available at half priced such as the Spicy Salami and Wild Fennel Sausage.

The best kale salad we’ve ever had and great pizza. We had the margarita. The place is sleek and modern as well. Recommend it !

Servers and bartenders trying hard, and some items are particularly tasty, others are pretty forgettable, and some are really overpriced. You just have to experiment and see what you like… if you’re looking for an upbeat, almost club-like, lounge-like, cruising for action on the town type of vibe, it’s great. It’s not a laid-back quaint Portland vibe at all, but reminds me of when we used to hit up places before going clubbing… in college.

This is a fine choice for higher end pizza when you’d rather pair it with a cocktail than a beer(though they have beer too). The pizza is admittedly tasty(we got the special during our most recent visit that had prosciutto and ramps among other ingredients and was very good), but the cocktails are not up to standard for the price(last time I got the soul kiss #3, which tasted like a 1:1 of OJ and whiskey that I could have made at home). Service has always been efficient and friendly, but the atmosphere is very loud so not a good choice if you’re trying to have a conversation with people. Bottom line, nothing wrong with having lunch here or just getting food, but if you’re looking for a dining experience that includes drinks there are some better choices out there.

Such a disappointment, cool space, good service, but shitty pizza, like the kind that both the wife and I went home and afterwards shit & shit & shit into the next day. Being the Pizza & convenience fiends we are, we stupidly hit it up the following week. This time we realize the pizza is shit, a gooey shitty mess, that you can not even pick up too eat. We exchange furtive knowing glances; shit in, shit out!

Ordered the goat cheese pizza and added prosciutto. We loved the strawberry compote on the pizza, which when you get to the edge of the crust, tastes like jam on toast :) Also, the beet salad was AMAZING. The toasted walnuts with the Isabella cheese and balsamic vinaigrette was clutch. I’d go back just for that. Gave 4⁄5 stars since service was friendly, but pretty slow, especially as we waited for our check. Besides that, had a great vibe(we sat outside), tasty food, and fun options to choose from.

So so so good. Delicious food and cocktails with a cool atmosphere. Never been disappointed here– and we have tried quite a bit of the menu! Pizza is fresh and crispy, while cocktails are yummy and inventive. We have always had great service as well. We had friends visit from out of state and this was one of the places we wanted to take them and they loved it as well!

Food was outstanding! And the drinks were even better! Try the pineapple crush(or explosion) it was incredible. The bartenders were very attentive and polite. The hostess, on the other hand was a bit snotty. Not saylahi(sp?) she’s a sweetheart! However, the other hostess acted as if we were putting her out and that we were an inconvenience. I understand this is a popular establishment and that this particular Sunday night was busy, but a little humility and kindness goes a long way, especially if you are the first and the last impression on your guests. Other than that, I highly recommend this place, and I will be back!

This place always seems to get flack but you know what, I like it. Granted I’ve only been here for happy hour but it’s a good HH and makes the prices seem more reasonable. Maybe outside of HH then the value night not be as good? Regardless, fresh pizza, yummy sausage, good marinara and friendly(but not over beating) bar staff tending the drinks. I’d go again. For HH of course ;-)

We came in for a quick stop. The preggo in our group couldn’t eat any of the cured meats around the corner at Hamlet, so we came here for cooked food. The four of us shared a mushroom pizza and a variety of drinks. The spot is cozy and cute. And the pizza came out amazingly quick! The ambience was nice and the pizza was delicious. A bit salty. But I’ve discovered that the food in Portland is all a bit more salty than I usually eat. Still so good! Negative? Not the best place for groups more than 6. Maybe a reservation will help. But like I said. Quick stop. Next up, Tilt!

Love the atmosphere! You can sit inside at a big communal table or outside. The pizza, when hot, and salads are great. I have been here twice and last time I went I had the grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. O. M. Gosh. I often say that a restaurant has to be able to do the simple things right. Hot food should be served hot and cold food should be served cold. If you are going to serve a grilled cheese… it better be a good grilled cheese. This one is better than good. The tomato soup tasted like fresh tomato goodness. Mmmmmm. I took one star off for lackluster«bored Portland» service, and the lukewarm pizza. I am not a big fan of pizza that sits out, and is then reheated. However, I’m sure I will return and get another grilled cheese, and tomato soup! :)

Another experience to reaffirm what a difference the quality of service can make to your dining experience. We got here to meet a few friends for a drink and some light dinner. They were sitting at a table for eight and there were nine of us, so we just grabbed a chair and added it to our table. One of the waitresses showed up and said they simply dont add chairs to the table and that some of us could sit at a different table and we would still be in the same restaurant. The only reason we were there was to chat with our friends and with that extra chair, we were not blocking the way, but I feel like we both were having a hard time getting our points across; eventually I went over and talked to the manager(kyler) who kindly told us it was perfectly fine, but by that time, the night had turned a little bit bitter for us. Having said that, I am sure she felt like she was doing her job. We ordered some pizza and drinks; The pizza was soggy and a little bit too wet for my liking. But the drinks were pretty good. Overall, it was okay, thanks to Kyler for sorting things out.

I like pizza. I also like that for what you get, pizza is pretty cheap. O & S is no exception, and well worth the price of the pie. I like to come here with a group of friends, for a date night, or with the in-laws. Its central location makes it a convenient destination. Considering they have a Nostrana salad, YOUBETTERGET A NOSTRANASALAD. Radicchio is often gross, but not on this salad, no sir. It is delicious and I wish I could just pour a vat of that dressing directly into my mouth. Their cheese board and nuts are nice for sharing. Their pizzas are great, I haven’t had a bad one yet and am partial to the sausage. Their drinks are also good and they have some reasonable prices on house wine. The service can range from very good to whatever, it depends on how busy they are, but more often than not we’ve had fine service. I’ll be back!

I love Oven and Shaker! I like to take out of town guests and work clients here, as it has the Portland vibe and is located in the Pearl. The salami pizza with honey drizzle is all I ever get. It’s the only pizza I’ll eat without ranch. They make a good quality old fashioned as well. Lucky for us they list the recipe on the menu, which we started copying at home for a fraction of the cost!

Good pizza. Good beer. Good service. Good location. Bad ambience – this time! Don’t turn the lights up twice as bright in the middle of our meal as when we came in. Way bright! That just killed the mood! Felt like I was under an interrogation. I asked two different persons to please dim the lights. One said the manager was informed, but the manager said nothing, did nothing! I digress! Maybe we should have sat at the bar, lights are dimmer. Actually, this is the second time that this has happened with the lights here! Dah! If I want bright lights I’ll go to McDonald’s. LOL! I digress again! Fix the lights, then, you are back on track with my previous 4 star review!

I wished Orange County(home) had something similar to Oven and Shaker. My sister works nearby and she suggested this restaurant while I was visiting the area. We were the first patrons in the restaurant as they just opened up for lunch so we had our choice of seating. Went for the standard — table style seats as the high chairs were backless and looked uncomfortable. We ordered the meatball sandwich from their lunch menu(which I was told differs from their dinner menu). The meatball sandwich came in a crisp and chewy«pocket-style» bread — the dough seemed to the ones they make breadsticks with. The meatballs were flavorful and well cooked and had just enough marinara sauce on it so that it wasn’t overwhelming. The dough was amazing though — perfectly cooked — not too crispy not to chewy, and had a parmesan garlic buttery taste to it. It definitely«made» the sandwich though — I couldn’t imagine the meatball sandwich being memorable if it had any other type of bread with it. The meal also came with a small side salad which was well-seasoned and a nice complement to the meatball sandwich. Prices are reasonable for the area — Meatball sandwich(w/salad) was $ 11 and Drinks ranged from $ 3 to $ 4. They have a cocktail menu as well. Definitely memorable and I plan to come back at least one more time before I head home.

I put 5 stars to balance the dumb bad reviews this place has for random dumb reasons. It’s a solid 4 stars.
