Fantastic and healthy pour Bloody Mary at $ 5 a pop… YES, PLEASE! Great bar food as well. Tasty and inexpensive. One of our favorite stops when we frequent NW23rd.

I’ve been back several times since my first review, and this place has become one of my regulars. I spent many a morning here when my partner was in the hospital across the street. Their cheap breakfast and strong cocktails made dealing with health issues much easier! Their happy hour deals are great… 4 sliders for $ 5! I still stay away from the specials, but all in all a solid joint. There’s a bunch of regulars here, some saltier than others!

If you are so out of luck trying to get a box of Blue Star Donuts (like my friends and I), Nob Hill Bar & Grill is a good spot to drink your sorrows away.
We were here late afternoon, after checking 2 Blue Star locations with no success. The place wasn’t overly busy and wasn’t too loud so it was nice to be able to have a conversation with out yelling. I also enjoyed the cider on tap, which was crisp and refreshing.
If I happen to be in the area again in need of a laid back place to hang, I’ll most likely come back here.

A classic, and it’s still holding strong on NW 23rd.
This is the perfect watering hole — good pours, decent taps, and above average bar food. Plenty of flat screens, plenty of seating, a cozy bar for Norm moments. It’s a total mix use bar. A few tables outside, but mostly taken by the smoker sets.
If the trendy scene on 23rd got ya down, head on over to The Nobby and get yourself centered.

Went here for a drink after dinner last night. The bartender was friendly helpful and funny. I had my first Manhattan ever and per the suggestion of a fellow patron upgraded to Makers Mark but I still found it to be not my style (I’m a newbie whiskey drinker). Unfortunately, my whiskey loving boyfriend said that it was a bad Manhattan by any standards. I did enjoy the atmosphere and games there though. They had a decent variety of sports on too.

Horrible! Listen to the other reviews about NO service and weird vibe!
Went in on a Tuesday around 4:30, maybe happy hour? Nope. The place was full of 40−50−60 year old bar flies. But because I read they had good burgers I was willing to try it. Asked the bartender do I just go sit down? She was nice enough and said yeah anywhere you like. So I sat at a table. 10 minutes later, no one even came by. Looked like the bartender was also the table waitress so I waited some more thinking she’s busy. That was until a regular came in and she greeted him by name and got his drink. Then she disappeared. I thought she went to the kitchen, so I waited some more. Finally, after about 15 – 20 mins, I gave up and left. Guess where the bartender/​waitress went? Yep, on my way out I saw her outside to visiting some more barflies! Wtf? Weirdos. Don’t bother going here. Yuck.

My husband & I have been to Nob Hill at least a couple times a year for several years. What a disappointment we had on 1÷3÷16. Walked in & no one would wait on us, 2 servers literally walked right by our table & did not take our drink order. Finally the bartender came from behind the bar & got our order right before we were going to walk out. Another 10 minutes before anyone walked by again & we had to ask them to take our order (we should have walked out after finishing the beer but were starving).
My grilled cheese & ham was awful, a 6 year old could have done better. The ham was not grilled, the cheese was not warm and the bread was barely warm. Seriously? Who can’t cook a grilled sandwich? My husbands cheeseburger was just ok, very little flavor.
The female servers did nothing but look at their phone at the bar almost the entire time we were there.
Huge disappointment, done with this place — they get no more chances.

Great neighborhood bar. Good burger and beer. Not stuffy and not trendy. If you are into the hipster scene then I suggest that you stay away. Locals and football/​soccer fans are plentiful.

It was my partners birthday last night (On a tuesday, thinking it wouldnt be busy) and i wanted a cheap place to eat that was near our hotel, i looked at the reviews before going but i was willing to take my chances.
It was so crowded, we could hardly get a seat. Once we finally sat down, we waited 45 minutes to place our order. The food came about 25 minutes later, and half our order was missing. Along with the drinks we were waiting for that whole time. And our silverware to eat with was no where to be seen. Luckily it was just soup and was probably already warm.
I got the steak bites and my honey got the fried fish. The food was ok. Not spectacular, but we were so hungry, we were willing to eat just about anything.
There was only one waiter, and she was also the bartender. I felt bad for her, so i tipped her well, but i wont be returning

This place is dope. It is just on the outer edge of NW 23rd shops.
There are tvs on every corner of the bar so you don’t have to strain your neck whenever you decide to sit. This burger and fries were good. The best item on the menu would have to be the tater tot nachos.
We asked if we could do half tater and half tortilla chips for the nachos. They assured us that they could and it was bombbbbbbb. Perfect snack for the football games.
Overall: will return when in the area

I had been here once before and had a good experience, when looking for a lunch spot I was surprised to see a low star average.
Despite that I made the decision to come here for lunch in between a baby class at Good Sam. They had the Ducks on, place was ¾ full. Server came right over, we ordered a burger and BLT, I got a greyhound. Food came out lightning fast, server brought me a screwdriver, apologized, comp’d it, I drank it anyway. She came back a few more times, I had a couple more drinks. We got back in time to resume the class.
This place is awesome, I love it. Stiff drinks, decent food, good service, fast, what more do you need?

Great option if you’re in the area and having trouble finding a restaurant without a wait for a table.
Your average neighborhood bar and grill, but with an above average burger. Was out with friends looking for a spot to eat dinner and almost every restaurant on 23rd was packed. So we stopped in to get a drink while we waited for the crowds to thin, but the burgers smelled pretty tasty and we gave in. The food was great for bar food, we all had a huge burger that was nearly identical to a Jumbo burger from the Helvetia tavern, and it came with a large portion of tots. The staff was pretty quick about taking our order and getting the food to the table, and our drinks never went too long without a refill.
I’d eat there again, that was one damn good burger.

Awesome bar. Period. Kids that come here expecting hostesses and chilled salad forks should just continue to pollute places that cater to hipsters.
This is a neighborhood bar. When you don’t live in the neighborhood, as I do not… you respect an institution like this, and the locals that patronize it. Sit down, have a chat, maybe you’ll learn something. In the meantime kids, no one here thinks you deserve a trophy or a raise for just showing up. Your parents don’t work here.

Had to pester the waitress multiple times to get refills on drinks, and even when she took the cups she acted like it was the end of the world! At a bar!
Menu said tavern breaded fish, we new it was a risk ordering them but it was one we took. These were awful, might as well have bought a box of fish sticks and gotten a better quality!
Save yourself and find someone where else to eat!

Ugh. There’s bar food, and then there’s this. It’s not a good sign when you can identify the brand of frozen food used for each part of your meal. There’s no host to seat you except for the bartender who gets annoyed when you interrupt her conversation with the barflies to ask if you should seat yourself. Service is friendly, but dawdles to get your order. I’m not expecting haute cuisine, but this is almost on the level of Applebee’s. The only reason I didn’t just cook at home was that our water was turned off for repairs and we figured we’d try something in the area. Doubtful I’d return again.

Above average bar burgers. w/​fries that were just ok, onion rings that were decent, tots that everyone that everyone in my group liked and sweet potato fries that nobody liked.
Atmosphere is usually crowded and pleasantly non-​douche-​y. Go ahead and tack on .5 stars for 3.5 star glory…

I stopped in here with my parents a month or two ago for a quick bite. The bartender was a total weirdo and jerk, and took forever to wait on us because apparently it was more important that he finish his conversation with his friend… even though the bar was totally dead. When my mom ordered a burger, fries, and a salad to start with, he goes «uh, really? that’s kind of a lot of food. are you sure? okaaaaaay.»
Really, dude? From the looks of your ill-​fitting jeans, you’re in no position to tell my bean pole of a mom that she’s eating too much food. Thanks for an awkward dining experience!

Best cheeseburger I’ve had in a long time. And it comes with tater tots as an option. I love tater tots!
I’m not usually a red meat, hamburger person, but every once in awhile I get a carving for one. This place really delivered!
The service was alright, the ambiance, divey, comfortable and causal. Great place to hang with friends.
