**HH review only** Our group of five stopped in for dinner on an early Saturday evening and were immediately seated. We made reservations but it seems if you arrive before 6:00pm it may not be necessary. There was only one other booth occupied in the entire pub. We decided to take advantage of their happy hour and ordered a vegetarian burger with fries($ 5), hummus plate($ 5), pulled pork quesadilla($ 4), two Guinness Irish stews($ 3.50 ea), and two Caesar salads($ 3 ea). I can only comment on the burger and salad and I recommend both. The thick, black bean patty had mild seasoning but was dressed with chipotle aioli and the usual lettuce, tomato, onion to give it a soft, warm tasty bite and light crunch. I normally don’t order vegetarian burgers but I would order this again. At first the Caesar salad didn’t look like there was enough dressing, for the portion size, but after mixing it up there was and it was good. The dressing wasn’t overly powerful, it was just right. After happy hour we didn’t have room to continue our plans with dinner. The well drinks were $ 1 off and strong so we were content with chatting and finishing those up. The pub filled up quickly but our server managed to still be attentive and friendly. Overall, we all enjoyed our first experience at the Leaky Roof. We’ll be back whenever we’re in the area.

Service can be slow as they are understaffed. Maybe they need someone to bus tables? The great food and good attitudes of staff make up for the slow service!

Small gastropub that is accomodating and friendly. They also have a great menu and bar. And the pricing is fair. Breakfast is stellar as is happy hour. Kudos!

Decent happy hour… pretty standard $ 1 off stuff drink wise and a good amount of food options. I ordered the fries, the calamari, and the pulled pork quesadilla. None of them were bad, but I’d only ever order the fries again. The calamari weren’t crispy and the quesadilla too greasy for my taste. Service was on the slow side initially, but our server made up for it by comping our two drinks. I could tell this place had a big whiskey selection, and it looked like a lot of wine too, but I am a beer drinker. The beer list was decent, definitely not bad, but nothing special. Prices were good all around. This place is super convenient to where I live, so I will probably be back, but if it wasn’t so convenient I probably wouldn’t go out of my way.

This place was awesome. Our waiter was this very friendly and personable… possibly Australian fellow who gave great service to our little group. We popped in for happy hour and got burgers, calamari, hummus plate, beer and Irish coffees. Everything was perfect. My burger was exactly what I was hoping for. The beef was full flavored and juicy and the toppings were on point. The fries were perfectly crispy and the set was served with Portland local mustard and ketchup. The hummus plate was delicious although not as full flavored as the burger in my opinion. Beers were delicious but the Irish coffee really stood out to me. The presentation matched the flavor and I HIGHLY recommend it. Absolutely the perfect thing on this rainy afternoon.

Saturday morning, no line, no wait, and good food. That’s unusual for Portland, but I’ll take it. The chicken and waffles were pretty good. The breading was seasoned very well, and they were very crispy. The waffle was pretty basic. What made the dish even better was that the server brought a side of gravy to pout over the chicken; it added another element to the dish. This is a great place to sit outside, and even though it’s SW in Downtown, it’s pretty quiet on a Saturday.

Small, fun little Bar/Restaurant tucked inside the hills in SWPDX. Had a great dinner with the family here after visiting the Zoo Christmas Lights.

I had brunch here with my girlfriends on Sunday. It was great! I made reservations because there were six of us going. The person taking the reservation was friendly and helpful. I didn’t realize just how small the place was until we got there. It is tiny! If the weather is nice I would opt for the outside seating, which is really just on the sidewalk but it isn’t too busy to be bothersome. Our server, Rico, was funny, friendly and charming. We had some great drinks, really good food and of course fantastic conversation. Some Irish Gentlemen and Man-Mosas to drink with three different benedicts to choose from, which were all terrific! Definitely coming back!

This place is bomb. I got the chicken and waffles and it was bomb. Graprfruit juice? Also bomb. My only complaint is the false advertising. The roof is not leaky, its actually very nice. The hot sauce holder also says tabasco, but instead has some locally made, even more bomb hot sauce. I will definitely be back. This place is.

We ordered the 2 egg breakfast entrée and the chicken and waffle entrée this morning for breakfast. For $ 7.50, the 2 egg breakfast came with: 2 eggs, choice of toast, choice of meat, and a choice of either red skin potatoes or a serving of fruit. The $ 13.50 chicken and waffle entrée had a large amount of chicken which is great. The waffle was 1 big piece of waffle that was cut nearly into 4 pieces. The meal was delicious, the bacon was flavored extremely well and the red skin potatoes tasted extremely healthy. The flavor on the chicken was superb as well. The service was exceptional and we will definitely be back

I walked in to have brunch and the bartender with red hair said very rudely«we’re not open!» But it says you open at 11 and serve brunch; So put a sign out that says you’re closed and lock your door so I don’t have to be snapped at first thing in the morning. It’s very off putting and she could have said something in a nicer tone.

Fantastic service, food, and ownership. This place flys under the radar but it is a favorite for all who know about it. The happy hour heart fed me through my undergraduate degree. Thanks to the excellent quality of ingredients and rotating specials I was able to avoid a drive though diet and even save money in the process. I will say that a hand formed 1⁄3 lb burger patty made to order, from meat delivered daily from local butcher. How can you compete? I didn’t even tell you about the specials! The chefs really take pride in preparing a very fun and interesting menu. Thank you

Brunch: YAS. Lunch: YAS. Happy Hour: YAS. Dinner: YAS. This place is delicious and delightful at every time of day. The drinks are the best bang for my buck that I’ve encountered in Portland in my two years of experience drinking heavily here(you know, since I moved here). The food, at least everything that I’ve tried, is incredible. My favorite thing about this place is that it doesn’t try to be «Portland-y.» There are no asterisks or smiley faces on the menu indicating«GF» or «vegan,» and while they have some options available for people with dietary restrictions, it’s mostly hearty, flavorful comfort food. The fried chicken is a staple for both brunch(chicken & waffles) and dinner(country fried chicken with mashed potatoes and cream gravy), and if you’re in the mood for a salad(or you’re on a «diet,» whatever that is), they have several fun, fresh options every time they update their menu. The service here is yet another reason I come back so often. The servers/bartenders are always personable and usually quite entertaining. Grab a seat at the bar if you can(there are only six seats) and get the full Leaky Roof experience.

Ohhh… fun, chill Happy Hour. Great prices on HH burger, fries. Service is great. They actually have real Pepsi over the normally terrible RC cola. Irish Stew looks awesome.

I went here with a large group for dinner recently – and it was a GREAT experience. Not only was the food great – but service was great – even with a large(16 or so people, and it’s a small place) group. As a group we had the Truffle Fries, Thai Sweet Fries, Asparagus Pesto Crostini, and Stella Artois Battered Onion Rings. The Thai Sweet fries weren’t really my jam – but a lot of other folks at the table liked them. Same with the Asparagus Pesto Crostini – but I liked that a bit more than the Thai Sweet Fries. The Truffle Fries and Onion Rings, however, were AWESOME. The Onion Rings were the best. 10⁄10 will do again. For an entrée, I had the Leaky Roof Special Burger – but without the egg. So… basically a really good bacon cheeseburger.(Give me a break. I was overwhelmed and made a snap, easy decision.) I drank a Dark & Stormy – it was good – nothing to write home about – but good. What I think made this place exceptional was the service. Our server was Courtney(according to the receipt) – and she handled our large group like a champ. Not only was she attentive enough to keep the whole group happy, but she was relaxed and playful with us. Most of the time when I go into restaurants with a group that large, the server is notably stressed… but if Courtney was stressed, you couldn’t tell. High five, Courtney. High five, Leaky Roof. Next time I visit Portland, I’d gladly visit Leaky Roof again.

I used to come here more when I lived closer but I had been years, Now they have new owners and are a «gastro-pub». A few random thoughts– The happy hour menu has quite few choices with really good prices. They have one of the few bars I have been to without a tv to distract you. They have a huge selection of alcohol to choose from(bottles on two different walls to choose from(see my pics). They do not have a parking lot but there is usually on street parking easily found close by. The good– The space is surprisingly bright and the old seating which was horible has been replaced. The food really is alot better, I had some of the best fries I have ever had. The Prices were really good to(I was there for happy hour and with a coke my bill was under 9 bucks) the dinner menu items ranged from 10 to 20 bucks with most items under 15. Almost the instant I finished my drink the bartender offered to fill it. So why 2 stars? The bad– The service I waited by the wait here for service sign and a woman came up and without greeting or smile sait«table or bar» I said«bar» and she pointed at the bar and walked off. I sat down and saying nothing she dropped off a menu for happy hour no offer of the main menu… you get the idea this is mostly how it went, Three other lowlights of the bartender she told a coworker who was actually chatting with a customer on the other end of the bar to get out of her she didnt want him back there… when they tried chatting with her she turned and walked off and when(highlight of my service} she quickly filled my empty drink she followed that by saying your done right? and started to clear my not quite half finished plate. The whole time I was there no employee greeted or smiled at me. Summery– I gave 2 stars because of the food and giving them the benefit of the doubt that this service was unusual(the guy she told to go away seemed quite friendly as did the owner(I think) when she walked through. But if I come again and it is like this again I’ am taking away a star.
