I have brought my same truck in several times over the last three years, and have spent a couple thousand dollars there. Every time that I go there I seemed to leave with more problems than I brought it in for. I originally brought it in because of an electrical draw. After every visit I still had the problem, but they found something else that was making the draw. I hardly drove the truck in between visits, but drove it even less because every time I went to use it, it was dead. I finally brought it to another mechanic who went on and on about all the bad electrical work that had been done on it.

I was riding by on my bike and my back tire fell off. I figured, at least they’d have a wrench I might be able to borrow to get it back on? They did expert repair work to get my tire back on, make sure the chain was right, and it’d be safe to ride. All they asked in return was that I have a nice day. I would recommend them to anyone, for any kind of service, mechanic or otherwise. Thanks Gibson guys!

These guys know their stuff! I have a 2006 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon that I bought used with problems nobody could fix over three years. The battery kept draining down to the point that the vehicle wouldn’t start, and I would get the «check engine light» coming on inexplicably. I spent several thousand dollars trying to fix my Jeep to no avail including replacing the vehicle’s computer, a very expensive repair, and buying several batteries. I was at the end of my rope. Then I was referred to Gibson Auto & Electric by an honest car mechanic who told me that Gibson would be able to really diagnose electrical problems with my Jeep. I took it to Gibson and they found problems which nobody else even dreamed of. The previous owner of the Jeep had installed an aftermarket LoJack system that had a cellular radio which was draining my battery. Gibson then discovered wires that had been completely destroyed between the engine and the firewall causing the «check engine light» to go on. Now my Jeep is finally working and I couldn’t be happier. Gibson isn’t cheap, but they get it done right the first time. You do indeed get what you pay for with Gibson Auto & Electric.

We have taken all of our cars, truck and RV’s to Gibson’s over the years and recommend Don and his crew to anyone looking for the best in fair, honest and knowledgeable service for any of their vehicles. Don has become a good friend.
Don has always been available to answer questions and offer help even when we have been on the road traveling across country. For a non mechanical person like myself, it is great to be able to simply call someone who you trust and ask his opinion on a vehicle problem you may be having.
Recently, we purchased an RV trailer in Colorado. Due to my wife’s illness we have not been able to go down ourselves and pick it up. I do not know anything about shipping a 29′ trailer. I called Don and asked if he could recommend anyone. He made several calls on our behalf and found us a great shipper.
Our family has been so please with Gibson’s that our married daughters now take their own vehicles to Don.

Just took my 70 nova to Gibson for the first time and am happy to say i have found my new mechanics. i took her in for a general check up and they did an engine/​performance test that turned up a couple of small repairs. after some tuning and replaced parts, this is the best she has run in 5 years.
they where great in explaining all of the issues, walked me through how to correctly gap a spark plug and gave me a me a short but reasonable list of things i should consider having checked out in the future.
they specialize in vintage cars but i am pretty sure they can be trusted with anything on 4 wheels.

They know their stuff but very expensive. A check engine light cost $ 85 to tell me what I already knew was wrong. Service work cost more than double for the same service elsewhere. I would shop around.

I did not have a positive experience on my first trip to Gibson’s. I had my car towed in and said that the pre-​glow system was not working and that they needed to check my glow plugs. This is a job that MBI had performed a few years ago for $ 180 ($ 90 for parts and $ 90 for less than an hour of labor). My technician wanted to bill me $ 90 for parts, $ 70 for diagnosing a problem that I had reported to him, and $ 220 for two hours of labor. I would shop around before taking your business here.

Don and his associates provide conscientious and highly competent service, making me feel as though they are more concerned about saving me money, that I am!
Recommended without reservation, with special emphasis on complex work, or older vehicles, for which mainstream service shops no longer have the expertise to perform efficiently.

Gibson’s Auto is like my second family!!! I have a Jaguar that has over 90,000 miles and is starting to act up. I know I can rely on Gibson’s to fix my car and give me a fair deal. They are helpful, quick, and honest. I won’t take my car anywhere else! I HIGHLY recommend them!

At first blush, this seems a straightforward, price conscious shop. I spoke with Kevin, who explained how their pre-​purchase inspections work, talked me out of a tune up prior, rather they would discover if there was a need during the pre-​purchase inspection. Everett Street Auto Works recommended them when I called up asking about checking out an FJ40 with an Olds motor conversion, as they focus on the newer stuff. It seems Gibson is a little less impacted by reservations, being able to schedule me for later in the week if needed. Kevin also gave me some geographic info as to distances and traffic, which being from out of state was helpful as well. If I get the inspection done, I’ll update this to reflect.

Gibson’s Auto & Electric is Awesome. I was hesitant to take my Land Rover anywhere but the dealer, but after talking with Joan at Gibson’s I decided to give them a try. When I dropped off my Rover I was able to talk with Kevin and John (working on my car) and they showed alot of knowledge of Land Rover which made me feel even better. A few days later and it was all fixed up. Great Job everyone!

Gibson Auto is a fantastic place to go for a once over, or heavy duty work on your vehicle. They are family owned, incredibly friendly and very honest and up front. I am always able to get my car in without waiting weeks and weeks for an appointment. Highly recommended!

If you have an odd car or truck that you need someone to give an honest once over, Gibson is the place to go. Everett Street Auto Works recommended them when I called up asking about a good place to take my 76 Toyota pickup. I was not disappointed. Honest and fast on the phone, and helpful and friendly in person.
