To start, everything that Jason Driver(JD) has done for our band and now even projects within our collective of friends/musicians, is just phenomenal. To be blunt, we went in with a DIY/Indie as all hell budget, but we feel confident enough with our production to pursue much bigger goals. If you need to make the record you’ve always wanted to make and do it on a reasonable budget… then go to JD at FurVault PDX. His studio is very relaxing, inspiring, intimate, and legit. He’s got amazing rack-mounted gear from Focusrite pre-amps, to Tubecore(boutique) summing mixers/compressors. The only thing this studio/engineer are missing is a talent switch. If you come in prepared with pre-production, your own tracks, or just come in fresh, he’ll help you get the tones and mixture you need to step up to the next level in your career. Obviously, the engineer makes a huge difference in the productivity of engineering a record, but JD is lighting fast with a intuitive response proving himself to be a force to be reckoned with. He’s amazing, we love him already and are really looking forward to tracking our next full-length with him in the spring of 2016. Check him out… seriously. It’s rare to find someone who will absorb themselves into a project by taking over the board like it’s his lifelong best friend. Seriously, you gotta get down to the FurVault. We shopped around at studios like Jackpot! and other great people around town, but we ended up being able to afford totally comparable production value with much less time/money. Granted, we work our asses off to be prepared… Jason Driver kept us on task, having fun, experimenting and we were able to track the full length LP in 4 days. No one in town will give you this kind of value for your dollar like JD will. We feel like we are lifelong friends after just a couple of months of knowing one another. I’ve worked with labels where engineers get frustrated, angry, or seemingly uninterested; however, JD brings patience, understanding, and communication to the table with open ears, a big smile, and a lot of passion for making the music happen. This list is something that JD surpasses the qualities of ten-fold: (and JD is now one of our co-producers for our band). Like I said, I wouldn’t recommend anyone over JD in town. Right now, give him a call about rates(really freakin’ reasonable hour/day rates). JD, thanks for everything. Love, Câlisse

Portland Musicians rejoice! Studio Time is no longer for the privileged; just the talented! Our band, a Latin-Fusion five-piece, was easily accommodated in the large space. Being recoded simultaneously, it was nice to find a studio big enough for playing, yet open enough for communication. The Isolation booth even held our saxophone/violin player without so much as a peep of bleeding in the mix. The overall atmosphere was professional, unpretentious and comfortable. Jason was incredibly knowledgeable and hospitable, allowing full use of his studio drums, guitars, amps and equipment and offering any sage advice applicable. Even when our session ran well past midnight, Jason had no problem sticking around to add a bit of his post-production magic to a track or two before we were out the door. Never out of contact, Mr. Driver had our recordings to us in a matter of days and passed our standards with flying colors. We were as excited to listen to our music as we were to make it. Personally, as long as I’m in Portland, I’ll be working with Jason on any project requiring a professional, yet somehow affordable music studio. Play on!
