This place is so delicious!!! Sadly the food cart pod they are in, is being destroyed at the end of the week thanks to gentrification! The burger dude said that they would be moving to sellwood and would have updates on their website!

All I can say is «Pork Chop Express». Wow. This is one of the best non-beef Burgers I’ve ever had. I imagine everything there is hut as tasty. This is the lunch you’ve always wanted. Go now! GO!

The Classic burger was excellent, cooked perfectly(medium), added bacon for $ 1.50, Bucky, very tasty and served with generous portion of French fries. Not sure but possibly overheard the food truck park was disbanding due to a condo construction on that property. What a shame! Please let people know when you relocate!

I have a weird love/hate relationship with burgers. It’s one of those simple foods that really isn’t all that simple to do right. Overworked patties, dry buns, too lean beef, you get the drift. For that reason I eat maybe three per year. Yes, I am burger picky. A girl has to have her standards. But then Burger Guild came into my life. I had had their pork schnitzel-type sandwich a few times and it is delicious, but I always passed on the burgers until recently. Let it be said that I deprived myself of one of the best burgers in Portland all these years for no reason. Ugh, I am so pig-headed sometimes. See, the original burger(Galesburger as they call it) is a masterpiece of simplicity. Burger Guild uses hormone free, grass fed yadda yadda yadda beef and puts the cheese inside the burger. I repeat, INSIDE the burger –and it’s fantastic. They’ll grill up some onions to top it with if you ask, and you should. Topped with their house sauce, lettuce and tomato and you’ve got yourself burger nirvana. I had it twice in one week it’s that good. I’ve only tried the original, but there are a number of other varieties. They have burgers of the month — this month’s features bacon jam and green chiles, unless you are dead inside should make you drool a smidge. All the burgers come with crinkle fries like your babysitter used to make(just me? Sorry your sitters didn’t like you) tossed with tarragon and maybe parsley. The sign says there’s mustard in there, but I haven’t been able to detect it. They are so good my, uh, friend once ordered an extra side to eat. Ahem. You can sub sweet potato fries for a little more. You can order delivery through Postmates now, so please don’t come whining to me that it’s too cold and wet outside to wait for a burger from a cart. Order now. Quantities are limited, but only because I might eat all of them before you get yours.

There was cheese sauce and jalapeños INSIDE the burger. Like, the actual meat was a pocket of cheese sauce and jalapeños. I don’t think that this fact was clear to me going into this ordeal. I’m not mad about it, but I just would have liked to have known what I had gotten myself into when I took that first bite and ended up with a substantial amount of the cheese and jalapeño goop on my hand. I was able to dip my fries(they’re crinkle cut unless you ask for sweet potato fries and they have something green, perhaps parsley dusted atop them) into this mound of cheese/jalapeño goodness. This burger is probably not my absolute favorite in this town, but I did enjoy it very much.

Growing up in Iowa pork tenderloins were a dime a dozen… sadly not in Oregon. This is the first place outside the Midwest that I’ve actually seen a pork tenderloin sandwich and boy is it good. Went there twice in two weeks even though I live an hour away.

Pork tenderloin«burger» was great. Crunchy and tender. Would try upgrading to sweet potato fries next time. Great shaded seating here. Cucumber ice water was a nice touch.

Midwest pork tenderloin sandwich! This little cart has some quality sandwiches and burgers, the pork variety are definitely my favorite. The pork tenderloin sandwich is huge and fried to perfection, albeit a little hard to eat, some plastic utensils would have been helpful, but I get it its a burger place. Will definitely be back soon.

This place is really good! I don’t think I have had a single complaint about their food. I have had the Jalapeño Burger and the Midwest Pork Tenderloin and they were both unique and succulent. The MPT is a beast of a sandwich and could easily be their signature dish based on the shock factor alone. Plus, I was pushed into doling out the 5 star based on the fact that they include fries with the price of the burger. It seems few and far between that places do that so it’s a nice perk.

The best burger in Portland. The jalapeño burger is the way to go. Make sure you get side of fries. Its more fun to eat at this cart when it is nice out because you can play a quick game of corn hole while you wait. They do have a tent with lots of seating as well for those rainy days. This place will not disappoint. Just make sure you are careful on that first bite because it is a juicy one and you could end up wearing it all day.

You know a place is majestic when the patty is three times as big as the bun itself, and when the patty is a fucking pork chop!!! You can’t really find this shit anywhere else, and the mustard on the pork chop is a delicious flavor combination. For only $ 8.75, it’s a no brainer. My only regret is that I didn’t get it, but my friend did, and when I took a bite, my taste buds wanted to jump out and kill my friend so they could have more. Fortunately, I’m a lot friendlier than my savage taste buds. Gotta keep them in check mah chillen. This may be the best burger I have ever had the honor to smother my face into. Maybe second to the John Howie Steakhouse burger, but it’s definitely up there with the best. I got the Kalamata Mama, which had feta, kalamata olive and red bell pepper stuffed burger, topped with Mata Mix, spinach and TBG Secret Sauce. If you know me, you know I’m all about dat SOWCE, and this burger had descriptors just foreign enough to entice me the fuck out. Anyway, this feta stuffed burger must have come from the Burger Gods themselves. I never had spinach on a burger, so it tasted like a really juicy meat salad, flavors popped and locked ready to take me out. THISPLACEISFIRE. Portland food trucks, amirite? Strong 4 outta 5

I had seen a lot of positive reviews for this place so we went at lunch to check it out. The owner was a really nice guy. We had the Jalapeño Burger. Very good! Burger, fries, and a coke was about 12 bucks. Great experience, great burger, we are putting into the lunch line up.

I ordered the jalapeño cheddar burger, and while I was super excited to give this place a shot after hearing great things from a friend of mine, I was not entirely impressed. Burger Guild has a unique concept in which every meat patty is stuffed with cheese. Still though, the burger tasted pretty standard and basic to me. It was not very juicy at all, and nothing stood out as a wow factor to me. It was pretty simple. On the plus side, it did come with fries.

Having moved to Oregon 40 years ago from Missouri — w/generally no regrets — about the only thing I miss(besides some great people) is a good fried tenderloin sandwich; I’ve looked all over and west of KCMO or Wichita, it seems they cannot be found… except here. «The MidWestern Tenderloin Sandwich» Seriously, there’s only a few states that can claim these, much less produce them, which is confounding because they are so damn good. Get them in MO, KS, IA, maybe NE, and IL. I suppose because that’s where most of the pork comes from. Anyway — This is the real deal — or as close as you are going to get: a plate sized, thinly pounded, breaded and fried pork T-loin on a small bun, w/lettuce onions mustard & pickles. That’s the formula, add or remove stuff and you risk spoiling the flavor combo. The T-loin extends way beyond the bun in a crazy fashion, requiring you to consume some of it straight up until you munch your way down to the little bun. Fortunately they don’t skimp on the pickles, mustard etc. This one was delicious. However, it could be improved upon. I think it was probably deep fried once, while the«real deal» in the MW(or in NWMO anyway) is deep fried 2X. Seriously. This one was good, but the best are almost as crisp as a potato chip without being tough or hard. This one had a just bit of chewy ‘tooth’ to it, which meant it was still the best T-loin to be had around here. You might just like the moist version better. Sadly, the fries are just ‘OK’(frozen crinkle-cut, which is pretty authentic MO style, but they could be better since we are here in fresh/local OR). I should have ordered the sweet potato fries, they seem to be well liked and they just have to be better. If you’re from the MidWest, It’s like a trip home w/out the jet lag, chiggers, billboards or rednecks. Go here, eat this sandwich. Think of Mark Twain, GW Carver, and Harry Truman, and rolling farmland.

The only 3 reasons I won’t give this place 5 stars: 1. Frozen fries(they were good, but this is Portland. Fresh is best.) 2. Didn’t ask me what temp of burger I’d like. 3. Total lack of personality from the clerk/owner. Otherwise, the jalapeño cheddar stuffed burger was delicious, juicy and packed with flavor. Custom made dipping sauces were also very good, but pricey at .50 each(considering not even one comes complimentary with an $ 8 meal). Good stuff overall, but don’t expect quick or friendly service.

1 tenderloin vs. 2 hungry people. Tenderloin wins! These things are HUGE!!! The owner is from the same small Illinois town as my boyfriend. These things are authentic mid-western. It was better than their famous restaurant in that same town. It is a pounded out moist, deeply breaded pork tenderloin with a fresh bun. If you have never had a truly authentic mid-west traditional pork tenderloin, you must try these! Fries are good as well.

Great place! The burgers were delicious and creative. I got the one stuffed with kalamata olives and feta cheese. Yum! Their menu is limited but they welcome substitutions and edits. I also got sweet potato fries which were possibly the best fries I ever had! A close second to Veggie Grill’s sweet potato fries. The guy was friendly, the service was quick and it was a fun little cart pod to hang out at. I am usually weary of eating beef from restaurants, because I’m weird, but I decided to give it a try and I was rewarded. Good quality ingredients. Their buns were also dee-licious! Nice and buttery with a crunch. I’d eat here again, seeing as I live in the area. Really want to try the bleu cheese one.

Stuffed burgers and pork Tenderloin sandwiches? Dang, I didn’t have to travel to the Midwest after all! Having been to Minnesota for some Jucy Lucys, I figured this may be as close as I’d otherwise get to having another for the foreseeable future. (FYI, another Portland cart, Lucy’s Original, serves Jucy Lucys, but has not been seen for months. The last time I checked, the owners had taken a winter hiatus — but may do rare catering appearances.) Not surprisingly, I ordered the only burger that described anything with kick. For the Jalapeño and Cheddar stuffed burger($ 7.50) sliced jalapenos and cheddar cheese are stuffed between two Cascade Natural beef patties, then grilled up. The cheese transformed into bubbly, sexy attire. I get the picture. The beef patties became the change room to slip into something more comfortable. Aw, and look at how the cheese models jalapeño lingerie so well! Fried onion rings and smoky chipotle are added. The latter even possesses a noticeable backend zip. Suddenly, the cheese/beef duo has perfume and a lasso to reel me in. Just perfect. This seriously calls for food porn music. The whole ensemble is so dang unfair to a gluttonous panda. Oh, we can’t forget the refreshing lettuce and tomato, because something on this burger must be healthy. Anyway, for food photo purposes, I sliced through the middle, revealing the glorious cross-section. The cheese raced out from between the patties like a flowing river. In my opinion, there are very few ways I’d want to eat a burger. Stuffing cheese and chiles between meat patties would be one of them. The jalapenos still had a little crunch to it, retaining a powerful green color. The whole burger was beautiful from bun to bun. I stared down the multitude of colors like a cat plotting its attack on a mouse. Hypnotizing… Each burger comes with free chips. You can get fries or onion rings instead for a couple bucks more. Two ideas for next time: (1) Ask if spicier peppers can be used in these burgers. Perhaps some habaneros and ghost peppers can be sparingly added. After all, we don’t want to decimate the population here, right? (2) I must add bacon. It may cost a little more, but who cares? It’s meat crack. All the menu items sound great. I’ve found another place to get a great burger, and I’ll have to come back for more!
