Ordered a regular burger. It wasn’t what I expected since they won an award for their burgers. It could’ve been better.

Bar bar is awesome! Love the vibes, great food and drinks– they have my favorite fries. Always have a great time there.

Great spot for nice weather! Large outdoor patio with plenty of seating, good food, and pet friendly. They also host NoPo run club Wednesday nights which is a great way to get together with friends for a run and cold beer after!

The burgers were okay and the service was fine. I had forgotten to close my tab for two burgers and two beers, without table service, and was charged with 20% gratuity. I’m fine with leaving that kind of tip of my own volition — when deserved. Just disappointed with this policy.

Every once and a blue moon I’ll get a hankering for a messy veggie burger and I usually end up here. They don’t come with the regular tomatoes, onions, or lettuce and the little pickle served on top tastes strange, but the sandwich is still delicious and crispy.
The side patio is pretty great and offers tons of seating even on crazy crowded weekend nights.

Great outdoor patio that plays classic movies as a backdrop. Seen everything from Blazer games to Planet Terror and everything in between.
Crowd usually has a local feel to it and the bar staff is awesome!
Food is good! The drinks are as well. the spicy margarita is a staple and uses chili pod infused tequila with fresh squeezed lime and orange juice. The best part is the chili salt rim.

This place is one of my favorites on Mississippi. There outdoor patio is kind of the main attraction here… unless you’re going to a show at Mississippi Studio then this would be where you do any pre-​show.
The patio is very large with plenty of picnic tables so its good for groups. On a sunny day, it can be quite full. It is nice that they have a window to order food/​drinks instead of going inside to the bartop… even though when were were here last it was quicker just to go to the bar top because of the line outside.
There burgers are pretty good here and seem to be pretty popular so if you get hungry after a bit of drinking (i always do), this place is a good stop also.
It can get rowdy here so its pretty noisy outside (we got kicked out eventually for being loud and obnoxious haha).
Also, I like this place because they allowed my dog on the patio (always a bonus in the summer).
During the summer evenings, they like to play movies on the projector outside sometimes which is kind of cool and different. Most people aren’t paying attention or come here for this but it seems to be a nice feature also.

This is a good bar for a drink before or after a show next door at Mississippi Studios. In fact, it’s good for a drink any old time. I didn’t eat here so can’t speak on the food.
They have TVs in case you want to watch a Blazers game (when in season) and despite the large amount of ice, they make a good Old Fashioned.
On a Friday night it was busy, but not insane. You could have a conversation comfortably. The staff here was nice too.

I recently took a trip to Portland to meet up with a few friends, and Bar Bar was the first place we went once we had all arrived in town. It was a great spot to catch up at, since there was ample seating in the patio. I love these kinds of places that have a ton of outdoor space.
It was pretty busy (a Friday night) but we were able to grab a picnic table, and getting drinks didn’t take very long at all at the bar. The bartenders seemed friendly.
We didn’t stay too late since most of us were either jetlagged or just tired from traveling in general, but it was definitely getting busier by the time we left. It sounds like they have pretty good burgers too – I’ll have to keep this in mind in case I make it back here!

I love Bar Bar and have been coming here regularly for years: really good food, great atmosphere and awesome service… until today. Long story short, I was waiting in line at the window to place my order. SOPHIE (make note of the name) was helping the couple in front of me and apparently knew them. SOPHIE proceeded to chat with no obvious intention of suggesting the couple should order and maybe catch-​up later. The woman in line finally suggested they should order. After taking their order, SOPHIE turned around and started loading the dishwasher, making it VERY obvious she was choosing to ignore me as I continued to stand at the window, waiting to place my order. Someone else sees me and asks if I’ve been helped. After helping me in Bar Bar’s usual great manner, I left him a very generous tip (Do I have you’re attention now, SOPHIE!!!)
Let’s just say as long as SOPHIE continues to work there and I see she’s the only option to deal with, I will have to take my business — and generous tips — elsewhere. Bar Bar — please take note — this was a sad day for a great business.

For a «dive bar» this is a really great spot.
Beers. Burgers. Bonfires… And cajun fries (just to sweeten the deal, because who doesn’t love cajun fries?!)
Do they have world-​class burgers? No. But seriously delicious for an inexpensive meal to pair along with a decent beer selection. Interior is comfy and exterior fire pit area is really great. I can’t wait to check it out even more in the summer.
They have a policy to allow children until 8pm. Two families were there around 6−8pm with unruly kids that they were bringing in and out of the restaurant to try to discipline, but it wasn’t working. Kids were throwing a fit, yelling, and throwing food. Staff was watching, but said nothing to them, while every other patron was annoyed. Fine policy to be family-​friendly, but loss of a star for not enforcing some kind of policy for unruly kids so that every other paying patron can enjoy a dinner and beer in peace.

My favorite cheeseburger in Portland and the WORLD. I will eat a million of these cheeseburgers. I don’t understand how they make this cheeseburger. There’s a magical bun, magical cheese, magical ketchup, and magical lettuce.
Also cool: the patio, the fire pit, the murals, the staff.
But the burger.

Food was amazing. I had the american rhino BBQ burger and Cajun fries. They somehow gets this amazing crunch on the outside if the juicy burger. Perfect shredded lettuce to delicious soft fresh bun to meat ratio.
We had great friendly service and the beer recommendations were on point. The Dogtown IPA was smooth and fresh.
Went today with the work crew and plan to take my hubby back tomorrow.

Friendly and attentive staff the atmosphere is very chill. Apparently they have surprise live music sometimes. I’d love to go back!

A chill bar with a nice patio area. I love how there was a film playing in the background. The beer was really cheap, too! The only minor complaint I had is that the smoking and non-​smoking sections were basically in the same area.
(Love how I got a «F* you» comment for writing about the smoking section after I posted this! Haha!)

For us, our burger #4 this week did not disappoint. When we got there around noon there was a long line inside, but no wait outside at the window so of course that’s where we ordered. The bartenders are pleasant and pretty patient despite having to deal with the huge number of people staring at them from in line. On to the burger: The potato bun is super toasty and delish. It righteously holds all of the sauteed goodness you’d want on a burger. We ordered a basket of fries, some onion rings, and a few cold drinks to wash it down and our party of 6 left happy and content.

What an incredible patio. What more can you say? Good burgers (a bit on the small side) and they have Shiner Bock in bottles. Yes, I realize it’s not an Oregon beer, but when one has lived in Texas for a number of years, there are certain things one finds comfort in. Shiner, dry rub bbq, hating on the Dallas Cowgirls and good Tex-​Mex. Bar Bar has at least one of those items.
Did I mention the patio? This thing easily rivals Rontom’s outdoors. Bar Bar had a movie playing (Talladega Nights) and pretty much every table taken. We got lucky since we had a group of around seven and managed to find a spot. What’s nice is that closer in the patio area there’s no smoking. I like that especially when I’m eating. I even found a spot to charge up my phone. It happens when you abuse it like I tend to do.
Can’t forget the fire pit and even misters on a hot night. That patio has it all. Bar Bar got got it it together together! Sorry, it was a night of redundancies. We went to Momo earlier.

Great bar on Mississippi! Their outdoor patio is great and I love their fire pit! If it’s not going when you go outside, just ask one of the bartenders and they’ll gladly have someone turn it on for you. Also, there is a window from the kitchen to the patio that you can order at, so you don’t have to repeatedly go inside for more drinks.
Happy hour from 3−6pm daily. This is a great spot to grab a drink after work. I haven’t tried their food yet, but their burgers always look delicious. I will definitely be back — I am sure a lot in the summer to take advantage of the nice outdoor set up.
