What a great place! Good beer, good food and what more would you want from a small brewery!

Wanted to update my review to a few cool new experience I’ve had here as of late. 1) The grilled cheese and tomato soup is on POINT. Granted, it was the daily special, so I don’t know if I’m taunting you unnecessarily, but man, that soup was peppery and delicious. One of the best I’ve had in a while! 2) They have a killer outside area that’s totally covered with a projector to watch whatever sporting event tickles your fancy. The heaters are great so it doesn’t get too cold. Win! 3) I still love the Mississippi Red. No update there. That is all. Great beer, great food, great service, great firepit — what more do you need?!

Stormbreaker Brewing is a unique spot in the Mississippi area of Portland. It’s in a great spot across the street from a food pod on one side and an ice cream cookie shop on the other. I like to spread myself around a bit so it’s fun to drink a few good beers and grab a snack and dessert across the way. I super dig Stormbreaker’s outdoor area, nice covered patio that is cozy when it’s cold and rainy. They serve food here but I’ve never had it. We always belly up to the bar and chat with the friendly staff. Check em out, I doubt you’ll regret it.

Beer and bourbon. The music is 70’s Texas. Please… if you’re by yourself, sit at the bar and listen to the bartenders conversation. GOLDEN. Nuff said.

Let’s get one thing out of the way: when I first came here nearly 7 years ago, I was visiting Portland. You see everything different as a tourist and I was amazed by Portland’s glory, I wanted to move to it, immediately. And eventually: I did. I visited this place, and it was then known as «Amnesia» brewing, I loved the ambiance: Picnic tables where you make friends with perfect-strangers that live in the houses surrounding the brewery. While living in Portland, I visited less and less through the years. If there’s one thing I know about Portlanders, it’s that they enjoy stubbornly sticking to their neighborhoods. I was no exception.(#SEorDeth) Eventually, I decided I was going to move to Alaska on a lark. Someone told me about a new brewery called«Stormbreaker». They told me about it because«it was named after Mt Hood» and«you climb Mt Hood all the time». I looked it up and discovered: Amnesia was… was…g-gone?! WHY??? Typical human: butthurt that a place he rarely patronized anymore, was closed.(Amnesia moved to Washougal, WA, btw) In my last days in Portland, I decided to give them a shot. The simple truth is: the ambiance is the same, the beer is similar, and the food is out-of-this-world better. Seriously inventive and outstanding food, even for a Portland brewery. No, I won’t elaborate, look at my photos. Give them a shot, you’ll forget all about Amnesia. I can never resist a good Dad-joke, it’s true.

Wow! I wish we had places like this in the Bay Area. This is a brewery located in the middle of a neighborhood. I am jealous of the people that get to live within walking distance of this place. This is place is simply delicious. Located in the middle of the suburbs. The food is silly rich and delicious. We ordered the smorgeousborg. And the three of us ordered a different burger. This place is everything I expected of Portland. They many different biers on tap. I got the Iron Curtain and the Wintercoat! Both biers were very creamy. It was like drinking milk. I had a nice buzz going on my first bier. I couldn’t wait to try something else. This place is great for groups of people. They have lots of seating outside, which includes a gazebo and a fire pit. Inside is warm and cozy, booths to sit and a bar area with sports tv. I will defiantly be back to try the other biers. But but this time I ordered the Winter Coat which was an IPA and the Iron Curtain which was a more happy bier. 5 stars for sure for fast but very knowledgable service, ambience– a true to Oregonian lifestyle, and simply good satisfying entertainment for your palette and stomach– food for your soul and body!

Found myself on Mississippi Ave for the first time in forever and decided to try out Stormbreaker Brewing. I ordered the Juicy Lucy burger, in which the waitor suggested as their«most popular», which doesn’t always mean it’s the best, but took a risk anyway because they all looked good. It was a double pattied burger with cheese in the middle. I really enjoyed this burger even though upon my first bite tons of cheesy juice came spewing out the right side of my mouth, completely drenching my phone on the table and the sleeve of my jacket. Even though though I really hate a mess, it turned out OK because my friends started uncontrollably laughing at how far the juice went, and the burger was delicious! I can see how it got its name. We came on a cold day, and their outdoor seating areas were perfect. There’s a fire place towards the back, and in front of the restaurant there’s a large tent with heaters inside, perfect for eating outside in the winter!

Stormbreaker is a brewery that doesn’t get much advertising, which is a shame… I’d have stopped in here much sooner if I’d heard about the place. Situated in an old skool, origional wood-finished building, it’s got a great NWvibe and atmosphere, great beer, burger special, many cocktails and an increasingly popular whiskey and beer pairing menu. As a transplant and beer hound was the main focus of my visit but I find the overall setting can improve my opinion of the beer, and Stormbreaker understands this as the feeling of the bar is superb. On my visits, I ran into several other certified beer geeks, including knwon faces at Cascade and Breakside. You know you’ve found an industry secret when the main bartenders of very popular breweries go there to relax. Let’s just say it’s a great endorsement. The menu is gastropub creative, decently priced a bit less than some of the other flagship taprooms in town(I’m looking at you, Widmer) and well executed. The burger I had was pretty good, I lost my notes but the memory of contentment and a full belly, topped off with a very delicious imperial IPAwith an insanely long name persists. It was fresh hop season, and the samples I had were almost good enough to keep me from a few whiskey/beer pairings. Almost enough, I say, because I couldn’t resist the chance to sample of of the local spirits they were showcasing. …If you’re like me, you’ll want to plan for a cab or a ride home from Stormbreaker. There’s so much good stuff to choose from here, and the service and atmosphere are so nice, that you’ll easily convince yourself to stick around for another drink or three. A must-try for visiting beer geeks and foodies.

I found myself getting lost in sitting in here. Their music choices were outstanding, the lights are dim, and the beers were delicious. We got the charred cauliflower with raisin romesco. The cauliflower wasn’t as charred as I was expecting and I’m not sure if raisins and capers go well together. It was pretty good, but not supremely delicious.

Met some colleagues here for dinner and was pleased to find a nice beer selection with decent food. I had the opacus stout beer, daily grilled cheese sandwich special, and lentils. All were pretty good. The atmosphere was dark which made it hard to read the menus. Next time I would sit outside, near the fire pit if possible.

First off, they have a huge outdoor patio which is great for groups or watching a game(if they pull down the screen). I heard about the burgers here so I naturally had to make it a point to go. I ordered the Jucy Lucy, based off the waitress’ most popular burger recommendation. It comes with two patties(small ones), fontina cheese, bacon and red onion jam, tomato and herb aioli. I wasn’t overly impressed; it was too hyped for me. There was nothing really that«wowed» me or set it apart. For beer, I tried the Hull Melon jacket beer, which wasn’t too fruity but a light brew. It was pretty good. They have some great beer options so this would be a great outdoor option if you like trying new beers!

Great brewery! We sat in the outdoor area since the weather was perfect. I had the mania a potu Belgian strong ale. This was a great Belgian beer. We also had the cheese plate which had like 5 different types of cheeses and crackers. Overall, i really enjoyed this brewery. If I were in the area I would stop by again!

In addition to their beer, they also have a pretty good whiskey selection. In fact, they even have whiskey/beer pairings on the menu. But be careful because some of the whiskey shots are quite spendy…$ 12 for Burnside Bourbon. Yikes! We also had a shareable appetizer called the smorgasboard, which is a combination of their meat and cheese boards with a soft boiled egg on the side. It was a pretty sizeable plate with 4 – 5 different cheeses and a few meats that included chicken liver mousse, a pâté type thing, and a couple of sausages. The service was great, nothing to complain about here!

Cool spot off of Mississippi Street to check out a local brewery. We came on a Saturday afternoon, and it was busy but there were still a good amount of seating available both indoors and outdoors. They don’t have AC available, so it was definitely warm both inside and out, although it was slightly better indoors since they had the fans going. We tried: Cloud Ripper IPA($ 1.50/taster) — Definitely hoppy with some bitter notes, but refreshing. I would get this again. Opacus Stout($ 4.50/pint) — One of the better stouts we had– it was creamy and smooth with good chocolate flavor. Recommended for any stout lover. Hull Melon Jacket(Brewed w/a German Experimental Hop, Hull Melon, $ 1.50/taster) — Very light and easy to drink. Subtle flavors of fruit and melon, slightly sweet and not bitter. I would get this again to drink during the summer months. [ Service was good– our server was really friendly and checked in with us a couple of times. They also have whiskey available and do beer and whiskey shot pairings. Food is served but this street has a ton of restaurant options and a few food carts across the street. Street parking is available but it can be tough to find.

I love the beer here! But I can get that beer elsewhere and not subject myself to their«friendly wait staff» and«delicious food». The food was the worst part for me. I ordered the grilled cheese special(one slice of cheese on burnt bread with chewy kale and about 5 pieces of lunch meat) with tomato bisque(pizza sauce) and my friend ordered a greasy burger with no flavour and probably the best chips I’ve ever had(and I’m actually being serious there. Those chips were bloody delicious.) Add three sweet pickles that soaked into the bottom of both our meals. Lovely.(Not.) The waitress was as friendly as a cactus. That’s all I have to say on that. Luckily, I had the beer to wash out the taste of the meal.

Great spot… Awesome patio… Good beer… Kinda meh service but not awful. Beers are surprisingly tasty and varied. I haven’t been here a lot since the old Amnesia moved out but it’s a definite stop for a beer when we are over in the Mississippi ‘hood. Easy ride on the TriMet #4 bus or even easier if you can bike or walk there. We drove over today for happy hour(every day 3−6pm) and found parking a few blocks away.

Pretty cool brewery to hang out and drink. My friends and I came after dinner on our trip to Portland Bc it was really close to where we were staying. They have a bunch of different type of beer and whiskey drinks/cocktails. Being that I’m not a fan of both I can’t recommend any drink in particular. When in doubt ask the bartender. Our bartender was this really cool guy and was nice enough to explain certain drinks and how to drink it. They have a bunch of whiskey and beer pairings. And we didn’t know how to drink it. So apparently you’re suppose to drink alittle of the whiskey then the beer. My friend got one of their whiskey and a dark beer and it was really good. The place is a cool place to chill and hang out. They have tables/booth inside w multiple TVs on the wall to watch your sports. There’s also the outdoor patio area which has heaters and tents to keep out the cold. One side has games you can play with and the other side is blocked off w large benches. They play music through out. My friends and I had a good time singing/dancing/listening to music while drinking our drinks… Overall a cool place! :)

Wanting something different, and willing to drive a few miles, we decided upon Stormbreaker brewing. We don’t normally drive up to North Portland much, and I haven’t really ventured around the Mississippi district too often. We came on a weekday evening, sat by the window on a cold rainy night. Gas candles on top of the wooden tables. Hop lanterns adorned throughout. Dimly lit and cozy. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We ordered an IPA and a saison, both were pretty tasty. I ordered the meat board, which had an assortment of charcuterie. We also ordered the bratwurst which came with a side of waffle chips. A great place to unwind, and try some local beers in Mississippi. We’ll be back to fill our corny keg!

During our Portland roadtrip, we stumbled across the Mississippi District. Absolutely adore this whole area, it is super hipster and low key. We saw this neat looking brewery and was faced with the choice of driving downtown to go to Deschutes or come here… we thought… hmmmm…everyone did recommend Deschutes… BUT why be like everyone else? We absolutely love this place. The bartenders were super chill. They made really good recommendations for beer. We had their samples and added all their specials. I think their sample has 6 small cups that costed $ 12 and per additional sample, its $ 3. We went all out and spent $ 21 to try all nine samples. They were really generous with their pour… we were tipsy by the five one. I liked a lot of their samples… CHUCK. this is why writing a review a month later doesn’t work. I will write an updated review to name the favorites cause I don’t remember the names. They have a large selection that they brew themselves. The bar itself was typical, but nice. The staff was awesome. Check this place out!

Same deal. We stumbled across the brewery and decided to stop by for a late night drink. The place is very cute, with plenty of picnic-style tables, bar seats, and booths. The boyfriend and I shared a flight of 9, brought out in small wooden palettes and mason jar tasters. We sipped by candlelight – it was cute. The beers themselves were solid as well. Our favorites: Triple Double, Pumpkin Pedaler, Mississippi Red Following close behind: Cloud Ripper, Opacus stout, Summer Hopcation, StormToberfest, Right as Rain, Total ReKolsch
