Studio Design Salon

This is a review for the best Hair Stylist! Kari! I’m from the UK and I came over and was a little scared to trust anyone with my hair. But, I plucked up the courage and went to Regis Salon at SunValley Mall and met Kari and the rest they say is history! Regis closed and I followed Kari to Studio Design Salon in Pleasant Hill.
I would highly recommend Kari!!!

This review is for Kari — it’s long over due. I’ve been going to Kari for two years now. She was at Regis at the SunValley mall before they closed it. She’s been at Studio Design since Feb 2015 and as a customer, I much prefer this location. It’s smaller and cleaner with ample parking right outside the door.
I love Kari! She’s a great stylist and colorist. I won’t trust anyone else with my ombré. She makes certain her clients are happy and takes pride in her work. Very personable and accommodating, I’ve never had a problem scheduling an appointment at my convenience. She rocks! Chelsea and Christina are also awesome. You can’t go wrong with these ladies.

I have been searching for weeks for an excellent hair stylist and i was referred to Kari Miller by a friend of mine who has been going to Kari for years. The moment I met Kari, I knew she just might be my go-​to hair guru!
First, Kari made me immediately comfortable with her friendly greeting and spent the first 30 minutes consulting me about my current hair cut – what look I was trying to achieve with the cut and color and what we needed to do to get the there in preparation for my bridal updo on June 6.
Her expertise was clearly apparent from her meticulous attention to every strand of my hair, precision cutting, and knowledge of custom mixing colors to achieve her client’s vision.
I walked out of #studiodesigsalon #karimiller feeling like a beauty queen! Thank you, Kari! You ARE Wonder Woman!

I now go to Studio Design Salon in Pleasant Hill to see Kari Miller, Hair Stylist and color expert. She use to be at Regis Salon in the Sun Valley Mall but they closed. Half of the staff now are at this shop after Regis closed. I get a mens haircut often and Im glad the location she moved to didn’t hurt. Newly remodeled area for her and clients, clean location. Easy parking compared to mall parking of course. Thanks Kari!

Let me preface my review of Studio Design Salon and in particular Christal with this — I just read Hannah M.‘s review… Wow.
I was raised in a family of stylists, my mother was a stylist who had the trophies to prove it, and both my uncle and former mother-​in-​law owned salons. I was pretty much raised in a salon and was my mother’s hair model for years.
When I was young I too used to love thumbing through the hairstyle magazines, but got over it when the Clairol rep told me that I was not a natural blonde, asked me if I really wanted to subject myself to bi-​weekly touchups and steered my mother into doing a foil weave instead. The magazines are great if your hair type, facial structure, ethnicity are a pretty close match to the model you want to look like. Otherwise not so much.
I know, what’s any of this got to do with Studio Design or Christal? Well let’s just say I’m neither under 10 nor over 50, not that these things matter, and I am a discerning customer. When it came time to wean myself from my years of free hair care and find a stylist I was tentative. I’ve had really bad hair experiences but when I found Christal twelve years ago I gave up looking.
I am not the only one. Sitting in Christal’s chair is like sitting around the family dining room table with the number of familiar faces I encounter.
The shop is clean, clutter free, comfortable, well maintained and located in a Pleasant Hill shopping center with relatively little business turnover, hardly deserving the title low-​end. Oh and the owner Mike is a great guy.
Had Miss Miley Cyrus (aka Hannah M.) gone to a salon on Maiden Ln in San Francisco, I might be a bit more understanding of the haughty tone. I sincerely doubt her self-​esteem issue had anything to do with a haircut.

I’ve been coming here for years and I love my hair stylist!!! She knows exactly want I want and how to make my hair look great! Highly recommend Studio Designs.
