Pony Tails

I’ve been taking my son here since he was 2 (he’s 5 now) and absolutely love Pony Tails, and especially Linda. She is so sweet, patient, and caring. My son completely adores her. Linda consistently gives him a great haircut, and is always meticulous and efficient (recognizing that patience is somewhat limited at this young age!). The place is always immaculate and there are tons of toys (and lollipops) to keep the kids occupied. Prices are reasonable too.

I would like to give a higher score because I was hoping to support a local business. Our first two visits were good, but the last two have been really disappointing.
Last time, my 3 year old daughter’s bands came out crooked. The stylist told me she had a“bouncy cowlick” and that I should warn her about that next time. After, I was asked by several people if I cut her bangs myself, which is pretty insulting considering I was charged full price. But, mistakes happen so I sent my daughter back today, with my husband. He warned the stylist about the cowlick and said he wanted her bangs at her eyebrows. Her bangs are SO SHORT! The stylist immediately apologized as she realized she had screwed up. She was really nice about it.
But, bottom line is, this is the second time my daughter’s hair has been screwed up here and we won’t be bringing her back. Too bad, the décor is cute and the stylists are very nice so I want to like the place, but if they can’t cut my kid’s hair right, it doesn’t make sense to keep going back.

Love this place. My daughter was very nervous. Linda was so patient and accommodating. At the end of the appointment my daughter was so happy she didn’t want to leave. The haircut was just what we wanted. We’ll be coming here for all future haircuts.

Perfect for kiddos. We went for son’s first hair cut and the staff could not have been nicer. They were calm and patient, even through tears. My son, 15 months, was scared and moving around but they were experts and still managed a perfect cut. We will be back as we grow.

My son loves getting his hair cut here, and she always does an amazing job! We love pony tails.

First time customer today — Linda was great! Salon is clean and made for little ones. Very happy with service and haircut and will be back!

Had a good experience with both stylists at this salon. The space is very kid friendly, but only downfall is its cash or check only. Also it would be helpful for the little ones if they had videos for distraction. Otherwise I have nothing bad to say!

My daughters love this place. They have such a good time, they love sitting on those horses to get their hair cuts. This place is clean and very kids friendly. If you are looking for a place to just relax and let your kids have fun and pretend to be cowboy or cowgirl well this is THE PLACE.
By the way the prices are very affordable and the stuff very friendly.

We started going to Pony Tails years ago when my son was young and they were in Lafayette. They’ve moved to Pleasant Hill and it’s a much nicer space. The location is tough though; it’s in the back of a shopping center near TJ Maxx on Pleasant Hill road. It’s worth scoping out though.
My daughter has very curly hair and the stylist does a great job with it. They’ll braid it, put a feather in and they’ve got a great selection of bows for the girls. There’s a nice size space for kids to play while they’re waiting or for siblings to play in. Parking wasn’t an issue and we got in and out on time. If you’re looking for a good kids salon check it out.

Absolutely the best. Talyta is awesome with my children, and we have been going to her since my first born was ready for his first haircut. Can’t believe that was 5 years ago. She always does an amazing job and both my kids love her. Can’t say enough good things about Talyta.
