Sandwiches are great to very good, salads good, service good. The weird bacon bits they put on the spinach salad were like random bits of gravel and nearly broke my teeth. Spent a long time picking them out. Why don’t they just chop up a piece of the lovely bacon they put in their sandwiches?

Got the 4 cheese on sourdough. Came with a side salad and pickle. All in all a good sandwhich and a good price. A touch of avacado added a lot. Friendly staff as well.

Jumped on Unilocal for a sandwich place and let me say this did not disappoint. I ordered the turkey, ham and pineapple on wheat. This has to be one of the best sandwiches I have had in a long time. The meat was fresh and so was the bread that was obviously made that day. I don’t recall ever having a sandwich with pineapple on it and but it was great combo. The bread was light and not doughy like some places and full of flavor. If I am in the area again would certainly stop here again. The downfall is the parking. Street parking near the capital and had to circle a couple times to find a spot. Thankfully someone left before time was up so I didn’t have to pay the meter. So keep that in mind parking is a challenge and have to feed the meter while your feeding your stomach.

Great place to meet friends and have a nice lunch. Food is excellent and they have generous portions. The staff was very warm and friendly! The French dip was very good. It is a busy place so you will need to wait a little, but it is worth every minute.

There’s a reason this sandwich shop is so highly acclaimed. The food is awesome! So is the décor. It’s like a cross between a shabby chic café, grandma’s kitchen, and your own home. A very warm and welcoming feel. I ordered the BLT. Such thick bacon! And soooo much of it, too. A side is included amd I tried a little bit of both potato salads. Their house potato salad is where it’s at! Service: friendly. Relatable. Our server(who I think is the owner, I believe she said?) really looked like she enjoys her job. I love Oly and I’m so happy to have another restaurant on my list of must-do’s when I drive through between Portland and Tacoma.

Ham, turkey and pineapple sandwich on homemade jalapeño bread + side of tangy Caesar add bow tie pasta and chicken — just do it!

This is an adorable little sandwich shop that has a down home ambiance and puts out some truly quality food. All the sandwiches are stuffed with delicious combinations of meat and veggies, leading to generous portions for the price. I could only finish half of my rueben(which came with three pieces of bread) and ended up finishing the other half a day later, unheated, in the car, on the way to an appointment… and it was still amazing. Another thing that stood out about Fifth Avenue was the incredible customer service. An older woman who I presume is the owner sits in the back of the restaurant and walks through every few minutes tidying up and checking in on customers. The wait staff are prompt, friendly, and patient. I witnessed one of them working out an order with a patron who was mute. The waitress took her time writing out a conversation with the customer to ensure that person’s needs were met. These are the types of business practices that make me want to come back and support this local establishment.

The service was an easy 5, everyone is super friendly and knowledgeable. Our server offered great recommendations for pairings of bread, cheese, and soup. I had the turkey, tomato, and bacon sandwich on wheat and enjoyed it very much. Wife ordered chicken salad with a side potato salad. The food came out much quicker than expected. We’ll definitely go back again.

Fun little pit stop on our way to Seattle. They offer fresh delicious food for decent prices. Cool place with a rocking reuben sandwich. My husband got the turkey bacon avocado sandwich and loved it too. Great cookies of you have the room ;-).

Breads are made fresh daily. Sandwiches are huge. One sandwich and a side can feed two people. Incredible sandwiches. Even the kids portions are large. Had minestrone soup, which was excellent. Server was fantastic, especially with our kids. Restaurant was clean and wheelchair accessible.

I don’t understand what all the rave is about this place. Sandwich tasted like a safeway sandwich. Bread was mooshy. Fries were soggy and undercooked. This place is over priced, I’ll go to safeway for the same quality

Customer service fast and friendly. Lost of seating and a pretty good dessert selection. Club sandwich 5 stars and is enormous. Grilled cheese was a 3 star… the cheese was slightly melted and warm. It didn’t tasted as good as hoped. It just needed a few more minutes maybe.

Wowza. They use grandmas secret recipe to bake their sour dough bread. Bake all their own desserts. The place is jamming with customers who look like repeaters. We Unilocaled from the highway and made our way downtown Oly(adorable at Christmas time). I had a half turkey bacon sandwich which was plenty. Great quality bacon! My only chink against this place is dirty menus. Ick.

Stopped by while traveling to Seattle. Trusted Unilocal recommended this as a lunch spot. Plenty of seating and super friendly staff! Went for the turkey cranberry sandwich with jalapeño bread. It was so fresh and sweet with a tiny kick. And my date chose the«hot Oly». Which was absolutely delish and hot. Ice tea was good and so was the coffee! Staff is working their butts off. Interior is cute. If I’d lived here I’d be a weekly guest :)

While I was working in Olympia, this was a place we frequented. It’s DELICIOUS! The homemade bread is an absolute stand out, and the Broccoli Cheddar soup is a must have! The staff is ALWAYS friendly and attentive and the place is a bit small, but always inviting in it’s décor and always clean. Prices are about right for this type of place, and I was glad to pay them since the quality surpasses that of a regular sandwich shop. Oh! Don’t forget their cinnamon rolls! They’re so huge you’ll have to share!

If you are visiting Olympia, this is a must-eat place! If you live here, I highly recommend visiting and you will be returning multiple times… Fifth Avenue Sandwich Shop rules! We have come here multiple times and it is always delicious. The wait staff is incredibly nice and attentive, the décor is cute and homey and the food is freaking awesome. Whenever you visit, always make sure you check out that Specials Board out front or inside! I have ordered their special of the day«Cheddar Broccoli soup» once and it was very creamy and yummy. If you are feeling a local favorite, the Hot Oly is amazing. It has a kick to it(spice) with the jalapeños but it’s not over kill at all! The BBQ Pineapple sandwich is also another awesome choice. Sure, it was messy and all over my face, but it was so worth every bite! Their French Dip is also very delicious and well made. Whenever you order a sandwich, you get to choose a side. If none of the soups sound good to your personal taste, I highly recommend the pasta salad. It is AWESOME! It almost pained me to order soup instead of the pasta salad as a side but the soup was still just as delicious. You also can’t beat the price here. The food is so fresh and the atmosphere is nice and friendly… eating for 20 $ for 2 is pretty good and we always feel super filled and usually end up bringing half of our sandwiches home… they are huge and they never make you feel like they are skimping on any toppings for your sandwich.

We were looking for a sandwich shop in Olympia, found this one on Unilocal. We walked in, and it was pretty crowded, it was around noon. It’s home style, maybe a little outdated in décor. We sat down, and ordered a blt and a turkey sandwich. I got the broccoli cheddar soup to go with my sandwich. I didn’t find anything spectacular about this place. The desserts looked amazing. I probably would’ve gave them an extra star if I got dessert.
