Finally, a wine tasting room in downtown Olympia! This is my first tasting of McCrea Cellars wines, but they are terrific. They specialize in Syrah and Rhôné varietals. This is a tiny wine tasting bar, and it’s in the same building as Bonaventure shoes (just off Capitol on Fifth). I’m a big fan of Walter Dacon (their ’07 Magnifique just scored a WS 93 points), and it’s too bad that they’re not down here too. The Olympia Wine and Tasting Bar will be open 1 – 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 1 – 4 p.m. Sundays.
