Love the bbq. The sushi is ok. How come it is not on seamless anymore? I hope it will come back at some point. Best night snack orders!

I can safely say that in the past year that I’ve lived in Manhattan Valley, I have ordered delivery sushi from every UWS sushi spot with 3+ stars on Unilocal.Uncle Luoyang is far and away the best. Awesome sushi, great prices. This is easily the best, cheap sushi I’ve had. Delivery is fast, but I’ve also ventured over there(embarrassing when you live 1 ave away and call in delivery), and the place is great too. Big spot, quick service the two times I’ve been there. Lunch and dinner deals are solid. They usually have coupons for your next meal. Overall, highly recommend for cheap, quick sushi that doesn’t taste cheap or quick.

Very very very disappointing. They charge $ 3 more for the cold skin comparing to Xi’an famous foods which doesn’t taste even as good. Gluten used in the cold skin is suspicious and the color gray seems like the disgusting protein bar in a movie. Also, they replaced handmade dumplings with frozen ones, which is hard and half the size. I don’t know why they are doing all these in just first month they opened. I told all my friends not to go there and I’m afraid their sushi will be replaced by some low quality materials. Just don’t go!

First of all very salty foods but still tasty enough that I went twice already. I recommend most of menus here. Corn. Fried sweet buns. Mushroom. Beef.

I came here for lunch to try the All You Can Eat(AYCE) sushi for $ 20. I would love to give them 5 stars, but the service was not great. There were only a few other tables seated but the employees were together in thr back chatting and I kept having to shout out to get attention. Also the fish was not exceptionally fresh or were of a lower quality, a few of my pieces of salmon had a slight fishy taste. If they get their act together on the service and improve the quality of the fish I will be a regular fixture at this place!

This restaurant should be the inspiration for all of the NYC food trucks out there. I have really witnessed the brand«Uncle Luoyang» evolving and growing in the last few years. From its popular food truck raved by Columbia students and its neighbors to now a brand-new physical storefront, his story probably gives hope to many owners of the food trucks in the city. This new store maintains its original food truck’s favorites such as the rice dishes and barbecue skewers. On top of that, Uncle Luoyang is adding a sushi option(either choose individual rolls or AYCE). What is even better is that its menu is in full-color and with lots of pictures! I came back here a couple of times and stuck with its barbecue skewers. Among the skewers that I sampled, there were: lamb, beef, quail egg, squid, string beans, eggplant, tendon, enokie mushroom, and more. With the exception of the tendon, I loved everything! The lamb and beef skewers were super juicy and delicious. I even liked the vegetables on the sticks, too! They were cooked to perfection and tasted great. The tendon skewer was a bit difficult to chew on and I won’t order it the next time(probably just a personal preference on the texture). My only note is that if you are not into super spicy food, see if you can request Uncle Luoyang to go easy on the spice amount for your skewers. I can take the heat and even so, at some point, the spiciness was slightly overwhelming. The only«downside» is that you won’t be able to interact with or see the friendly face/smile from Uncle himself while visiting here. For the price, most skewers are around $ 1.75 or $ 2(increased from $ 1 of the original food truck) and they can add up fairly quickly. They have a sushi chef but the sushi does not come from Uncle himself. For sushi, it is $ 20 for AYCE for lunch or $ 25 for dinner(dine-in only). So if you are looking for the authentic food-truck-turn-to-restaurant experience, the barbecue skewers are probably your best bet. You can tell they spend a lot of time and effort on its décor. And what beats free wifi? They also play pop and hit songs in the background. Lots of tables are available for either individual, small group, or big group hangouts. The waiters are friendly and fluent in both Mandarin and English. On a more recent visit, the food took awhile to come out since I put in a large order. So expect a bit wait time. Free delivery is available and the minimum for delivery is $ 10. It seems like(from others’ reviews) they are working on some glitches for delivery. I am sure these issues will be resolved with time. I highly recommend this place if you find yourself on the UWS!

The all you can eat sushi buffet definitely worth it! You can’t get eel in many all you can eat places. The quality is pretty good for an all you can eat menu. Also the dumplings are pretty yummy. The skin is not too thick and is pretty meaty. I would say if you want a quick eat grab some dumplings and a lamb sandwich and you’ll be stuffed in a good way. Pass by Xian and come up here.

I ordered through seamless the 3 roll lunch special. All was fresh and well presented. I tried the BBQ sticks. It was way too spicy! Lol I had tears in my eyes. Maybe I will ask next time no red dressing on it. I liked the beef and sausage best. Lamb was OK. Chicken was really good but had tears from the heat lol. Will try again

First of all do not come here on weekend nights since many people are gonna be here and make service extremely slow. Been here twice already and had the sushi buffet twice. Got to say given it’s only $ 25 per person, the sushi quality is not bad at all. As long as you are a hungry eater this deal is definitely bang for the buck.

They are short handed now — so it’s very slow. Had to wait for an hour for our dishes. They lost our order and didn’t admit it until we had to submit a new one. Chinese barbecue is ok. I was expecting more choices though. They should really specialize in bbq — don’t offer sushi or mix up the styles. This is not what we expect from Uncle Luoyang — such a nice brand in views of Columbia students.

Really great restaurant! The flavor, price, environment, services… AMAZING… Definitely recommend pork burger, Phoenix roll, jelly fish, both steamed and fried dumplings, and ALL of their BBQs!!! Every BBQ I had here is awesome. I wish I could order all of that in the menu:p

This review is primarily for the sushi, which was the worst tasting sushi among the many not great sushi places in that area –actually might have been the worst sushi roll I’ve ever had. The rice in the sushi rolls was off the charts wet and heavy and the salmon had an unpleasant taste to it. The beef burger, bean curd salad, and shrimp tempura were not good, though not as bad as the sushi. The BBQ skewers are the best bet here. And if the restaurant served them alone I would give this place another star.

Serving is extremely slow!!! We waited 1 hour to get our BBQ served, some were already cold! And they missed two orders! And by then the server told us the appetizer was out! Besides, items were pretty expensive compared to other Chinese restaurants. Would never go there again.

I’d give this 3.5 stars and 4 for the price to quality ratio. I guess this is the brick and mortar opening of a Columbia student loved food truck. I stopped by on a Friday night and it was packed, mostly with Chinese students! The servers were running around taking orders and didn’t even have time to clean tables. I wasn’t in a rush so it didn’t bother me, but if service and ambience is important t o you, you may be frustrated. This place does all you can eat sushi and some hot appetizers for $ 25. They charge for what you don’t eat and given that this place is mostly known for its bbq skewers I didn’t want to risk the sushi. We ended up ordering tons of skewers, which at $ 1.75 each is pretty much the cheapest dinner in this area. Skewers were really good! Nice bbq flavor and plenty of veggie options. We even ended up getting 3 special rolls which were mediocre but not terrible– meaning they were Edible, had too much rice, and were generally fine and didn’t make me sick. We got a tooooon of food and it ended up being $ 50 total for 2. Also this place is byob. If you are into cheap eats and don’t mind a bit of sketchiness, then you’ll love it here. I’ll be back.

Enjoy this new restaurant for girls’ night. Price is affordable and sushi rolls are very fresh. Love their miso soup! BBQ taste like the famous bbq food cart in flushing but with better ingredients. Will definitely come again!
