Yum! The smoked turkey is delicious, and the staff is very friendly.

Very tasty sandwiches at this small shop, which offers a nice alternatives to break up my jury duty routine of Chinese-Chinese-Vietnamese-Chinese. As soon as I spied«The Godmother» on the menu(prosciutto di parma, hot soppressata, fresh mozzarella, arugula, kalamata olives, marinated peppers, balsamic dressing on ciabatta), it was a love match. Clocking in at around $ 12, it could stand to be a few bucks cheaper for a lunch meal, but there’s no arguing that the ingredients are quality. They also have soups(with deals) and some items for the sweet tooth.

Super tiny but spectacular sandwiches. Got there early enough for a seat but it crowds up fast at lunch. Go for the southwestern panini.

Just had a fresh baked oatmeal cranberry white chocolate chip cookie that deserves 5 stars alone. EDM gets my morning going. The girl working here made it all the better experience.

It’s nice to have an option for good sandwiches in the neighborhood that mainly has Chinese and other Asian food, but even better to have such tasty and fresh sandwiches. We had the smoked turkey and fig sandwiches which were both delicious. Generous portions, fresh tasty bread. Can’t wait to go back and try some of their others. The iced coffee was tasty as well, and we topped the meal off with a great chocolate chip cookie. Definitely recommend Sharkey’s for a great sandwich. Wish they were open when I get off from work.

If you live or work in the area and are getting sick of Asian food, Sharkey’s is definitely worth a visit. It’s a tiny space, so I think most people get their orders to go… I wanted to sit and relax a bit and it did feel a little overly cozy. I went with the hearty turkey sandwich, which features guacamole and swiss cheese on ciabatta. I thought all of the ingredients were nice and fresh, though I wasn’t a huge fan of the guac… a little too thin for my taste, I think. I also realized after I had purchased my food that they were supposed to give me a free dessert with my sandwich(there was a tiny sign on the bakery case), but at that point it was too late and I missed out, which I now regret because I love Balthazar baked goods and it would have been a wonderful finish to this pleasant meal. Would absolutely go back if I’m in the mood for a simple, fresh sandwich, and next time I’m collecting my cookie!

The place is run by a few girls. The place is feminine but not male unfriendly. I had the Tuna Melt & it was wonderful. Not designed like a typical giant New York sandwich but not small either. It was tasty and just the right amount. If you are into healthy and not volume for the sake of volume because you believe it’s value for money, than this is the place for you. I am so tired of places that give you more food than you could eat just to make you feel like you’re getting value for money. Because it just makes you fat. This place will not. The right amount of food, at the right price, and tasty, the best combination.

I had a great panini here(Roast Beast, which was delicious with high-quality roast beef, swiss cheese, and a nice herb mayo blend) for lunch while on break from jury duty. Tasted great, but taking off a star for high price, slower service, and nearly no seating. The lack of seating is a shame, since the interior is super cute and it feels like with more room, it would be a nice place to sit, get some work done, eat some lunch, etc. But I get that you work with what you have. The prices really bugged me, just because it felt like while the sandwich was good, it didn’t justify $ 9 to $ 11 for a pretty medium-sized meal. They’ll give you free chips if you want them, which is good, but still doesn’t really make it feel like a good deal. Price tag aside, I would definitely come back here if I was looking for a lunch in the area. As I mentioned, service was a little slow, but everyone there was also very nice, so as long as you’re not in a rush, it works out fine.

Strolled by this little café while on my lunch break from Jury Duty. Close to the courthouse, they offer a range of sandwiches that get the job done. I had the suothwestern: smoked turkey, pepper jack, & chipotle mayo on sourdough At $ 9 bucks, it’s a little steep considering the size of the sandwich, but along with the free bag of Lays classic chips, it’s what you’d expect from a NYC café. The taste was solid — pepper jack and smoked turkey pack a punch(like the alliteration?) and the bread was pressed nicely to make everything hot and gooey(but not messy by any means). They had a small selection of muffins and cookies to go along with their sandwich options — I was tempted but refrained. Maybe during tomorrow’s lunch break I’ll go back to give it a whirl. Staff was courteous and friendly — they accept all forms of payment. Thinking of exploring some other options near federal plaza over the coming days — but Sharkey’s didn’t disappoint. It just didn’t knock my socks off.

Cute little spot across from Columbus Park. Limited(and quirky) breakfast menu. Grabbed a chai tea and a Banana Nutella muffin that was fabulous. Nice and moist with a crunchy top.(Queue the Betty White SNL jokes here.) Will be back next time we are craving muffins!

I got the vegetarian panini(sun dried tomato paste and smoked mozzarella) for $ 9(with tax). The sandwich was good, but I don’t know if I’d get it again. It was missing something(perhaps basil leaves?). The meal itself was a good deal though because you got a free small(which wasn’t that small) ice tea with a sandwich purchase. Overall pretty satisfied and would here again to try some of their other sandwiches. The service was also very friendly!

This is a great little café that offer something very different from the rest of the neighborhood. The two women who were there when I went into the café were very lovely and friendly and the music that was playing is a nice café blend of indie pop. While the space is very small and therefore does not have much room for seats, it is right across the street from Columbus Park, where you can enjoy your sandwich or pastry. While it is sometimes difficult to navigate Chinatown using only English and also somewhat difficult to find sandwiches or less greasy food options, this café provides a great place alternative. The only downside is that the price is higher than the equivalent portions of very cheap Chinese food that are very close by, with my Pope Francis on ciabatta sandwich being $ 11 without tax and tip. I think that this is ultimately a sign of impending gentrification the neighborhood, without fault to this café itself, though this is an entirely different story. The service here is amazing and they even threw in a chocolate cheesecake bite with my sandwich for free. :)

I love everything about this place. The service, food and coffee were all exceptional. I had an iced coffee, «The Godmother» sandwich and the nutella pudding. Everything was fresh, delicious and came with a smile and great conversation from the employees. Prices are fair and the view of the park across the street makes the experience that much better. I definitely will be back.

How i havent been here yet is astonishment to me. The place is tiny but very cute. Its across from Columbus park and they have the best panini. I got the«Go HAM» panini and it was everything. The ham to bread ratio was perfect and the bread was pressed to perfection. Best thing? Sandwiches came with free cupcakes today. I got the carrot cupcake and it was so moist but not oily and you can see the shredded carrots in it. Made me feel guiltless eating it and it wasnt overly sweet. It was probably the best carrot cupcake ive ever had. Took about 10 minutes for my sandwich to be ready and since i only havae a 30 minute lunch, i will be calling ahead from now on. Wish they had more baked goods available today. There was only cupcake, muffin and baltazar croissants today.

I heard the hype, and I was skeptical Sharkey’s could live up to it. Fortunately I was wrong. So, I got there around 3PM, and they informed me that they were all out of sandwich bread, and that anything I order would have to be in a panini. It was too late to turn back, so I got the Pope Francis, my girlfriend got the Southwestern Turkey. Both of the sandwiches were delicious, the Pope Francis with moist mozzarella and fresh arugula, the southwestern with a mountain of turkey inside. Two great sandwiches at a good price. If it were based on these alone, they wouldn’t have gotten five stars. BUT, THEREWASMORETOCONSIDER. The woman behind the counter apologized for not having the bread after I paid, assuring us that the sandwiches would be better on another day. I half heartedly believed her, but to try and make it up to us(which she didn’t need to do!) she gave my girlfriend and I free teas, as well as a free dessert each. A lot of places would just tell you they are out, but Sharkey’s went above and beyond by apologizing and trying to make it up. Mission Accomplished. Both the tea and the cookie I had were great, and my experience shows how much value they put on each customer. I will certainly be back.

It’s such a cute and quaint place in Chinatown. I found this place on Unilocal nearby my interview and it had such great reviews and I’m a fan of italian sandwiches, I had to try it. I ordered The Godmother on ciabatta bread. Yum and tasty! I love italian meats and it’s great it had prosciutto di Parma and hot soppressata on it. It makes me feel healthy eating it cause it has kalamata olives, arugula and balsamic dressing.

This place is right by my office and I go all the time. It is so great. I have had most of their sandwiches, but my favorites are the Southwestern, the Mulberry, the Hearty Turkey. I prefer to request sourdough because I find their baguettes and ciabatta too bulky. Their desserts are also amazing, and sometimes they give you them for free! My favorite is the Nutella pudding and the croissant bread pudding. Their coffee is also great and very strong. The people who work here are extremely nice and helpful and really round out the pleasant experience that is Sharkeys.

Sometimes I wonder how this quaint little café came upon the outskirts of Little Italy, just entering Chinatown. This is the perfect option away from Asian cuisine. Lovely place to have breakfast, lunch, or even a light snack. A refreshing change in a world full of pre-made food with preservatives and oil. Everything from this café is adorable and yummy. I can honestly say I tried everything this café came out with(so far) and I loved everything. My favorite sandwiches are the Smokey Vegetarian Panini„ the GO H.A.M. Panini, the Simply Cucumber, and the Tuna Melt. To make this clear, I eat both vegetables AND meat. I never thought I would like a vegetarian sandwich, but on my journey to try everything on this menu, I discovered a love for the Smokey Veg and Simply Cucumber! The drinks from this café are refreshing and comes originally unsweetened(for those who don’t want to drink too much sugar). The sweetened raspberry tea and the Tahitian Sunrise are definitely my favorite drinks. I am also very excited to try their soups as soon as they come out sometime soon! Overall, I would definitely come here again. P. s. The banana muffins are TODIEFOR. So good!
