this coffee shop is surprisingly empty given its proximity to the terrible 30s. i was able to plug away at work for a few hours(they have 5G wifi), powered by their decent cold brew and easily accessible water on tap. they supposedly have«healthy baked goods»(they had an extra olive oil and chunky banana bread on display) which all looked delicious and also pretty typical of pastry fare, and i didn’t try any. outlets are hidden but in decent supply– check underneath the benches!

The milk in my latte tastes really good. The coffee itself is decent but not too special.(Note that I live in SF and can be a bit opinionated/snooty about coffee. :-p) The almond croissant was extremely good and apparently baked in house daily. Over all, I enjoyed my time here and would recommend it.

My go to place for morning coffee and light breakfast. It helps tremendously that it’s just around the corner from my office. Excellent baked goods, especially their breads, and excellent coffee.

Decent, not great coffee. I’m really sick of how all the mediocre places have started charging an arm and a leg for plain old coffee. The joe here is nothing special. It isn’t as bad as bodega coffee, but not as good as Blue Bottle. The so called wifi is nonexistent. Don’t bother asking the help. They dont know or care about the wifi. I’ll stick to Gregorys. The people are more friendly, and if I want to pay $ 3 for a small coffee, I can get an aeropress single origin there. Oh yeah, and actual wifi. PS. your huge menu painted on the wall is indecipherable. …so it was a temporary wifi outage? Why not inform the patrons? You have a sign on the door«WIFI». There are stickers on both your registers with the WIFI info. It is an obvious selling point of your business beyond coffee. If it is out of service, it behooves you to inform customers BEFORE they make a purchase. Okay you tricked me into buying coffee at your no WIFI zone once. But I will never come back.

They make syrups and today it was a vanilla lavender syrup. I had it with a latte and it was pretty wonderful. Their coffee was quite good; their pastries were OUTOFTHISPLANET. We had cinnamon rolls that had just come out of the oven – :) – and then we had the olive oil cake(which had a hint of orange in it). We went to heaven, nonstop. This place and Bibble and Sip are our two favorite coffee shops in New York right now!!!

An ideal coffee shop to chill and relax or get some quiet time. Healthy baked goods to go with your cup of coffee as well! I loved how warm and cozy this spot is and the coffee bean smell is so comforting. Lavender Vanilla Latte. I came here specially for this and it’s no surprise! It has a nice lavender aroma and a lightly sweet vanilla taste to it. It was not overly sweet at all which I really liked! Cold Brew. Bitterness plus refreshing, I like! Carrot Loaf Bread. It is tasty and it is gluten-free(for those who care)!

This place is pretty cute! I’m on a mission to try out as many coffee shops in the city and I’m happy I bumped into this one. I got an iced latte with my friend along with a lemon pound cake bread and everything was pretty good! I love their cute plate décor which is definitely unique to seven grams. Pretty chill music in the background playing as well!

Yay happy Friday the 13th and I’m really in a mood for coffee exploration. Walked a few blocks down before work and decided to give a shot on 7 grams. Great choice! I came in right after they opened, so not all of the pastries were out for display yet; however the scent of coffee beans started to spread. Their flat white is slight different from elsewhere, which tended to be a bit more complex, unique flavor! If you’ve got some time to kill, definitely sit down and enjoy a sip with their cup and plate — the cutest I have ever seen! A good cup of coffee made my whole day.

After reading all the good reviews, wanted to check out this boutique type coffee place. So I had the opportunity today after shopping at WholeFoods… The space is small, it felt cramped… Even though it wasn’t crowded at 8am… I can’t imagine what it would feel like when there is a line… People’s behind would be hitting other patrons’ head, as they line the wall of tables. I also didn’t feel«welcome»… The barista had the look of «I’m not in the mood for this sh*t»… No smile, like he didn’t want to be there… Maybe he’s not an AM person? Way too serious for this job bro! The cashier was nicer, she at least smiled to her patrons. I got my usual drink of choice«Americano»… I asked to leave room for my milk… That didn’t happened… I hate wasting coffee. So, my biggest disappointment was the actual«coffee» itself. It tasted like nothing, way too much water was added and even with extra half & half couldn’t revive it… What a total let down. There are plenty of good coffee places around here… On to the next one! Or just back to Bean & Bean.

I had high hopes but the staff was rude and the baked goods overpriced. Giving two stars instead of one because the coffee is delicious. They made my drink wrong and then tried to argue with me about it and kept giving each other looks. All I ordered was an iced Americano, nothing special. But they gave me a hot redeye, and then made an iced redeye before they got it right. Also the cookies are $ 4 which is what Levain charges and they are nowhere near As good.

UPDATE: In only a few hours, 7 Grams Caffe got back to me. That’s pretty awesome. Review update: They’re coffee is great and served hot, which is awesome as long as you have a nice lid on it. Plus, they always have free samples of coffeecake out. I’ll be back, 7 Grams. I’ll be back… First Review: I shall keep this at 1 star until Seven Grams agrees to put lids to their coffee on the counter the serve it. Currently, they place them in literally the furthest corner from the place they hand you coffee. This means that you order your coffee, it comes piping hot, then you must gracefully maneuver across the crowded morning space to secure your coffee without burning your hand — which is impossible. It’s also a double kick in the nuts when you realize that for a $ 3.50 cup of 12 oz coffee, you’re burning your hand at $ 0.20 a pop. If I’m missing something, someone please let me know. I will happily change the star when that doesn’t happen anymore.

Seriously the yummiest banana cake and sour cherry chocolate ball scones! That and all the other biscuits and croissants are made and baked fresh there regular, they seemed amazing but I already pigged out. To top it off the coffee is yummy and they have great melodies playing. It is a classy place for a sweet treat and well made espresso. I will be back for the almond croissant, carrot cake and genuine hot chocolate shortly!

I was looking for a more local approach to coffee, as that can be hard to find outside Brooklyn. Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts dominate, neither of which I frequent at all. This cute little spot has homemade treats which looked so tempting, and many kinds of coffee drinks. Cheaper than Starbucks, I paid $ 4.50 for a cortado, and added their flavor of the month. Great coffee, great place. I couldn’t even find seating, it was all full!

Needed a quick pick-me-up while walking crosstown. Stopped by Seven Grams and walked into a really nice coffee shop. There was plenty of seating at the hour I went and the noise level was just right to have a conversation or do some work. For my order I got an americano, hot chocolate, and a peanut butter cookie. I would advise against the cookie because it wasn’t as fulfilling as I expected. The americano was nice and I could tell that the barista knew what he was doing. The staff was super friendly even after the transaction, which is why I would definitely recommend this place to everyone!

7 Grams stands out by succeeding as both a Coffee shop [on-point espresso drinks, spacious, high ceilings, wifi, pleasant computer work space] AND Bakery [fresh, made on premises baked goods, nice staff] It’s missing a bathroom. And perhaps a little more reasonable prices…($ 2 for literally a tiny bite muffin is rough even for Chelsea) Still. Great business I am happy to support.

Great service, cute clean place, and very affordable drinks(by NYC standards). You can actually get a coffee for less than $ 4 here! Standard coffee menu but wish they had a few more exciting options. Service was by far the best though. He walked me throuh everything and even let me bring in my dog!

Some days I’m happy that good places haven’t gone over popular so you can still enjoy the good vibe there. If you are not cool, don’t go, you’ll ruin the picture. For those who are complaining the place is small, seriously, are you from manhattan?

I was only here for once and decided to order the hot chocolate. There were limited seats but I am lucky enough to grab a seat and work on some stuff with my computer. The reason I love this café because it was quiet and spacious. They do have some good fresh bakery if you are craving for something or hungry and want some afternoon tea. I don’t know what chocolate they used but it wasn’t sweet and the chocolate was rich and thick. Exactly how I love it. I don’t know how to describe this café. It felt cozy to me and the baristas are all really friendly.

Location: chelsea has been the hotspot for all those great coffee shop startups. Seven Grams Caffe is one of them. It is on the 7th Ave, and close to Whole foods. Store: the place itself is really nice, spacious(compared other coffee shops in NYC), and clean. They have almost 10 tables for you to stay here for a little bit long. When you stepped into the coffee shop, you will be attracted to all those great bakeries. But sometimes, when it is later in the afternoon, like me who stopped by around 3pm, there’s not much choices left. At least, those beautiful croissants are all gone. Coffee: A coffee a day keeps a doctor away. Sorry for twisting all those health campaign ads. I had red eye because I just wanna try their roasted beans. Well, it is okay, not too spicy, too sour, too bitter. It is average though. But the price is insane. 4 dollars for a red eye, OMG, crazy babe. Everything seems pricy compared to other startup coffee shops. Overall: I will just give a 3 stars. Probably it is a neighborhood coffee shop choice but definitely not worth another stop by.

Seriously?!! You are a coffee shop encouraging people to enjoy your space and coffee and bread etc but you don’t have a toilet for your customers?!! This really sucks! The large latte I ordered was also like warm! I am terribly disappointed. Can you not take the time to heat the milk to a decent temperature? Nobody I know likes their coffee Luke warm!!! I am not at all happy with this café! You suck!!!

Atmosphere: seating for about 20, no bathroom(or at least not clearly visible), and very friendly staff. I forgot to specify almond milk and caught the barista, who gladly made the change at no extra cost, in time. Then I accidentally took the wrong beverage off the counter, had a few sips, and only then realized my mistake. The barista then announced my name and drink, which I sheepishly took. He was so understanding. The espresso was a nice dark roast, not bitter, and perfect drinking temperature. I like the available sweeteners(simple syrup, honey, and agave) as well as seasonings. They also offer any baked goods and sometimes bogo deals.

As honest as I can be, I loved everything about seven grams caffé EXCEPT my coffee. The barista was fantastic, the ambiance is a minimalist heaven, the pastry selection is oh so tempting, and I love reading their sandwich board on the sidewalk every day when I walk by. They always have something fun or interesting going on it seems. This little coffee shop definitely hits the ‘trendy’ nail right on the head and they have fun with it, too. However, I really didn’t enjoy my espresso beverage. I was in the mood for a creamy coffee the day I went in, so I opted for a small almond milk latte instead of some of my other go-to standard drinks. Their small is definitely TINY… And the price just didn’t match and did not thrill me. Seemed a tad high for what I received. I didn’t love the flavor of the espresso OR the almond milk. Ultimately, since I go to cafes for the coffee and solely the coffee — not to work or eat the pastries(I do indulge occasionally, but it’s not a motivating factor when choosing a new coffee shop to try) — I can’t say I’ll return to seven grams. No hard feelings… the product simply left me wanting, and somewhat regretting. Again, though, I totally dig every single other aspect of this place, so if you try and like the coffee and are fine with their prices, then by all means(and in all sincerity) frequent and enjoy!

A pleasant little stop along my Java Journey that was also in close proximity to my old office. The carrot bread is ONPOINT. Since it’s dairy free, I like to tell myself that it’s a healthier option. I know it’s not, but, stubborn ignorance is bliss, you guys. Friendly staff that offers happy transactions. But I have to go 3 stars because honestly, the lavendar syrup is kinda weird. Maybe it’s my personal palette, but I wasn’t a fan… and I was kind of bummed out that they didn’t just have a standard vanilla flavor. The drink menu is pretty limited, actually. Nevertheless, I’ve dropped by here enough times to obtain about 7 punch cards because I always forget to carry the original, which is a lame joke that I force onto the cashier every flippin’ time. They politely laugh and suggest bringing them all in to tally & most likely receive my freebie. Thanks, I will!

Food, drink, and *particularly* the space itself are top quality. The café is minimalist in its décor and furnishings. Plus, it’s bright. The coffee is great, the food is great. There are a handful of tables. There are outlets here too — it’s a nice please to read, work, relax, talk, and anything else you can think of. It’s simply nice to be here.

Cute little coffee shop in Chelsea. Came here to kill some time before the Chelsea Film Festival over at SVA theater and to escape the sudden cold. It’s a very simple, chic space with some nice background music and a good number of small tables that seat 2 people. I saw some people studying-makes sense because it was very low-key and chill. They have a simple menu with a few classic coffee/latte items: I opted for the chai latte, which was very well balanced. The chai isn’t as pronounced as most chai lattes I’ve had, which I personally liked. Pleased with this find!

A solid café with great espresso drinks(plus pretty artsy decorated cups) and a variety of popular cake breads(e.g. banana, carrot, etc.) and pastries. Awesome spot for a work café as there are usually open tables, a decent number of outlets around, and a consistent wifi connection. One con is that there’s no bathroom available in the café. I’ll recommend to go to Argo down the street for the toilet.

Seven Grams Caffe is located by 26th near where one of my friends works. This is the perfect excuse to visited him, and make a quick pit stop. An other plus of the place is that, Unilocal did a elite event, a few months ago. If you want to go a place to have a good coffee, eat a good piece of cake and be in a splendid atmosphere, here you have found your place here. One of my Current Crush, I can tell is banana bread from this place this has to have some crack in the recipe. The taste is indescribable; all I can say is that it is something that melts in your mouth. I really recommend, the other cakes are good, but I emphasized on the bananas more because, it is my favorite one. They also have great coffee.

I just devoured my chocolate almond croissant and had to write my review right away because it was so good, I had to share. I came shortly after they opened and there were no croissants on display. The guy at the counter said they’d be out in a minute, and they were. I chose the chocolate almond — best of both worlds. I took the warm pastries back to my hotel. I didn’t need to spend $ 4+ on a coffee since I had a Kurig machine back in my room. The tasty treat was $ 3.75, much more than my favorite French baker back in DC. Howeva… It was worth every penny! It was warm and flaky. It was the perfect combination of chocolate and almond paste. My best breakfast in New York. I won’t be eating the hotel’s buffet croissants anymore.

This coffee house is so quaint and cool. Their goat cheese croissant and turkey croissant are very yummy. Cappuccino with heart is so lovely. Seven Grams also carries various hot and cold teas for the non-coffee drinker. This café enables patrons inner peace for stillness away from life’s hustle and bustle, first date meetings, or ponder one’s existence and life direction. For my party of two we were able to sit for approx. 1 hour and 15 mins with a full fledged conversation without being rushed to exit. Their black and white silhouette plates are very elegant and vintage but classic. 1 large cappuccino $ 4.13 1 iced tea $ 3.67 1 goat cheese salad croissant $ 6.20 1 turkey croissant $ 6.20 Note: No bathroom facilities on site.

I love coffee shops like this. Small tables, small seats, flat whites, lattes. Such a great vibe here. AND they sell sandwiches and pastries. I’ll be back if I’m ever in the hood again. It’s right near the 1 train… Legit.

Prices are very reasonable and the service is great(way better than what I get from toby’s in Flatiron plus not as cramped). The pastries list is mostly loaf cakes, but every one of them is solid. If I had to choose a favorite, is really say the financier is my top one. There’s the slight chew you want when you bite into it, but that delicious butter flavor without dryness. And to be fair, all of their loaf cakes are moist. The brownie bites have the glossy slight crunch on the outside, but gives way to a very soft, almost pudding middle. From a coffee perspective, I’ve only had their cold brew, which is made using intelligensia beans. Their other coffee drinks use other beans. I didn’t see a public bathroom though, so be warned that this isn’t a place to hunker down for a full day unless you can go without a bathroom break.

Velvety smooth coffee. I got decaf and it was still good. Being from Miami, a decaf cortado sounds so wrong. But it was great. Service was great and we got a couple baked goodies– raspberry financier and brownie bite per Unilocal recommendations. Kinda disappointed with them. Financier was whatever and the brownie bite was too much powdered-sugar-taste and not enough chocolate. Still, coffee was on point and that’s the main course so I would def recommend to other and definitely come back for more Clean. Great service. Great coffee. Free wifi. Not terribly overcrowded seating(yay). Baked goods need a bit of work, but I get the five-star rating and I have to agree.

Coffe is one of my great passions in life, there is nothing worse than to go to a coffe shop with a Bentley of espresso machine and given a bitter smoky flavor espresso. oooh dissapointment! Just cruilty. Lol. oh well. off to find another coffee place. BTW is my second time here, with the same dissapointment :(also de service is not good at all. Place is cool and hip, I give them that and good sweets. :).(if only the espresso)
