They just stole 10 dollars from me. I needed 10 dollars change, so I made a 13 and change purchase and I gave the cashier 25 dollars. The cashier gave me back 1 dollar and change. Edit: after making a huge fuss(they weren’t willing to change a 20 dollars bill after this) the manager gave me my money back.

I don’t normally write reviews. But when I do, it’s because the service was really bad. I liked going for buffet there during lunch hours. But some of the staff at the register are really rude. If you have attitudes, do NOT work in service industry!

Came here last Friday looking for lunch. With the famously exoborant prices such as $ 4/orange, $ 1.50/cookie, $ 10/blueberries, and a lame preapared food section with basically just run-of-the-mill sandwiches for $ 9 without justification apparent in the marketing for such high prices, I walked back out. The only thing going for it is the location which conveniently the overspending locals who famously keep the lines busy at 4 – 10 minutes’ wait even at 2pm. I wonder who works in this neighborhood. The high prices aren’t matched by the quality selection and artwork as the Bowery, Tribeca, and Gowanus locations have.

I will miss this Whole a Foods and particularly the staff at the seafood counter. There may have been an occasion or two when I was abrupt with the fishmongers, but it’s because this store has consistently delivered quality groceries at fair prices. I’ve actually paid less for organic produce here than a certain unnamed local competitor about three blocks away, towards the west side. The cashiers are nice, too. The downside? I’ve seen many an uppity individual walk around with their small dog(ANDYOUKNOWTHEYARENOTSERVICEDOGS) and it just creeps me out. I wish security would tell these individuals that it’s against the health code to bring their accessory pups with them to a grocery store.

Look, if you aren’t willing to pay $ 18 for a carrot or two, why are you even living in New York? I personally refuse to eat any apple that doesn’t cost at least $ 10, because what am I supposed to do, eat fruit that just ANYONE can buy? And I was considering buying a pet cow for my apartment, but instead I just bought some ground beef at the meat counter for the same price. Worth it! Whole Foods shenanigans aside, I come here a lot because apparently organic food is magical and I am willing to keep my girlfriend company. I also occasionally buy WF(pronounced«dubs-H» for those not in the know) brand pretzels here, which are the single best deal in the store. And make sure to keep your eye out for some awesome specials, which they’ll mark with bright yellow stickers informing you that the price of a six-pack of beer is no longer $ 13.99, now it’s just $ 13.99!(Not a typo). If you want Whole Foods organic produce, I suppose you can make your way to this store and have at it. If you aren’t that worried about it, though, and there’s a Trader Joe’s down the block…

Salad bar is horrible and unattended to. Cashiers aren’t very nice. I didn’t swipe my card right away because I was looking at the price(obviously it was higher than I thought) and the lady freaked out at me. I would be angry to if I worked there though, the lines are insane. But the lack of freshness was appalling

AWFUL customer service! Kai in the checkout line was a extremely rude and 100% unprofessional. She told me her register was closed, so I went to the girl standing next to her. She then started checking out the customer right behind me?!? Umm what the heck is that all about?! This may not sound like a big deal however I just waited 20 minutes in line and then was flat out lied to. I just wanted to check out and get out of the madness that is whole foods at lunch time. Friendly Reminder Whole Foods: you’re a business. You should probably start teaching your employees the importance of positive customer interactions. Pretty disappointed in my experience — will definitely not go out of my way to come here again.

LOVE ! I saw Sarah Jessica Parker(from movie sex in the city). She was having a big shopping cart full of food. Of course I said Hi :) I visit this whole food 4 days a week. Always have discount products but very fresh. The food here comes and go very fast. I mean FAST !!! Very nice vegi & fruit section people. They price check for you right away. They bring fresh ones from the back if the ones in the front are old, moldy or broken. They let you taste anything, and are very friendly about it. They also talk to you if you might have any questions. The staff offer very personal suggestions before purchase. The environment here is much nicer to shop, compare to the whole food at 95 E Houston St. You are paying for all these product. Make sure you are happy while spending. Seafood section is very nice. You ask how much you want, they cut it for you. There is a line, first come first serve. People are nice too. They do not skip lines. The Seafood are always fresh. The staff offer very personal suggestions before purchase. Meat section is not so well. People there does not seem like they like it. Wrong price mark on labels, they charge you more or any mistakes. They will gave you a bad face and might just not change the correct one for you. Unless you call the manager. Not always fresh. Sometimes I get smelly beef home. I trow them away, instead of bring it all back to return, too much work. Lunch section is very nice. They change the food fast and soon as it become a little empty. You can always enjoy fresh and food full of options. Cheese section ask for samples and suggestions. They are very friendly. I always talk to a guy there. He is amazing. Ham & prosciutto. Please just select and leave. You do not want to know drama in their store. Of course with miserable faces and do not want to do any sample or service. Bakery is always making FRESH bread, and the bread smell so good. They slice the bread for you when u hand them to the bakery. The coffee use to be better, because they reasonly fire couple of the coffee expert. But is still okay taste coffee now. Download the app, for every 10 cup you get 1 free coffee. They also have the beauty shop right on the order corner. Whole Body At Whole Foods Market on 25 street and 7 avenue corner, amazing selection of natural products. Overall is great experience :)

I know this is a whole foods aka it’ll be expensive but it’s supposed to be of high quality. I don’t really see it. Everything is way overpriced and you can find cheaper options elsewhere for better quality. Specifically speaking of one example: the salad bar. I went to get a quick salad as a lunch today, first off $ 8 a pound makes it the most expensive option around but I figured I could find fresh ingredients to enjoy so why not splurge a little. Wrong. The croutons were stale, the feta was hardening over and they didn’t have Italian dressing? I even asked behind the counter. Ended up paying $ 6 for a really mediocre salad. With so many other options in the area for grocery and quick food meals I can’t see why I would come here ever again. I’m not even going to get started on the lines here, they’re outta control dude haha(took me 30min just to check out for two items.)

I know and understand all the critiques of Whole Foods, it’s still a great reliable resource for alternative and specialty foods, especially when you have particular nutritional and health needs. I go to this Whole Foods quite a bit as it is on my way home from work. It’s not my favorite WF though, mostly because of the size. It’s cramped and the lines during peak hours are crazy. That being said, the staff goes out of its way to be helpful and, like I said its convenient.

I see the lines even on a weekday afternoon are as bad as they were years ago. What I don’t understand is why in the advertisement online this store lists sale prices that are not the actual sale price in the store? Take this week for example, the organic swiss chard — supposed to be 2 for $ 4.00 but the sign said 2 for $ 5. The greek yogurt advertised for $ 1.00 each was not $ 1.00. Also, an awful Miracle Whip type tasting mayo was used in their sushi rolls on sample. made me not buy it. Looked at the ridiculous line and walked out. On the bright side, the workers are very nice here!

I guess it really depends on what your comparable is when judging whole foods. I gave it a four star, relative to the three star I gave to food emp, which is the place I do my daily grocery shopping. Whole foods did have everything I would love to get, with more choices. Since I usually focus only on the healthy side of food — yogurt, fruits and dry nuts, I found whole foods to be very convenient in a sense that it has a self-weigh section, so that I do not need to worry about the huge portion size which I probably will never be able to finish. Some people would complain about price level, I found it acceptable, given the healthiness and freshness it brought. I wish we could have one whole foods opening in my neighborhood!

Location is great but this used to be such a great place for bread and friendly service. What happened? Bread on this Sunday morning wasnt hot fresh and bskery service person felt like he was being bothered by our simple questions on whether anything was hot. Store and service needs major revamp to bring it back to the jewel it used to be at what has to be one of the city’s best location.

It’s hard to remember just how exciting it was when Whole Foods moved into Chelsea, but then again there aren’t many folks still living there who recall just how down-at-the-heels Chelsea was even into the 1980’s. This Whole Foods led the way for NYC, but always had a funky layout, curving around spaces used for other purposes on the ground floor of an older building and like Whole Food locations that followed, often featuring very long check-out lines. Nonetheless, being at ground level makes this store, although not large by suburban standards, much more accessible than those that require shoppers to go down and up from one floor to another. Of course it isn’t cheap, and we never did bulk shopping here, but the produce is nice(especially when something’s on sale!) and they do carry some specialty items in the meat section and elsewhere that you won’t find at most places.

What can I say that hasn’t already been said? Pros– nice fresh organic produce and bright clean stores. Cons Expensive! Weights on pre weighed prepared foods questionable(stay away)

Alright! The beer selection is slowly coming back to this Whole Foods! I went in today and found that the beer section has been moved to a new area(near the cheese dept.) and they are starting to stock-up on the tough to find micro brews, limited edition brews and indie brews that we beer snobs love. I am very excited about this and I encourage all of you beer connoisseurs, when you are in the Chelsea area, to stop by Whole Foods and find something delicious to enjoy in their beer department. I hope they will keep moving towards building the best beer selection in the neighborhood(like it was) so I won’t have to walk too far to get the good stuff. I know where my wife will be shopping for my present this year! Thanks Whole Foods … you are just in time for the holidays!

I love and hate this Whole Foods. Love: really the only decent place to get groceries and fresh food Hate: the amount they ring me up for is sometimes different than the sign(produce). Place gets really crowded. It’s just generally really expensive, too. Tip: the coffee bar is in the back. If you only have a few items, you can buy them there!

I came here to grab some food from the buffet stations and was disappointed in their selection of meats and proteins. You had to go up to the counter to get them which required waiting on line. This is much different than the Columbus Circle location which has these items in their buffet stations. My roasted vegetables that were suppposed to be hot, were cold. But since I brought the food home, I was able to just microwave them. This won’t deter me from going here again but for the price, I’d expect better quality.

This is the worst Whole Foods I have ever been in. the hot food counters were groce, the self serve bars are dirty, the food looked like it had been sitting out there all day. The salads I purchased from the salad bar, tasted like dirty sponges. NY is getting worse by the minute. I don’t know how people live here…

As supermarkets go Whole Foods is one of the best. The selection of organic high quality food is fantastic, especially for vegans or health conscious eaters. The cooked food here isn’t great but the salad bar is great. The line takes too long but isn’t as bad as the Union Square branch.
