I adore Frankie in the morning on the grill. He knows how I like my eggs, and I don’t have to even ask, he just starts making what I want as soon as he sees me! I like the rest of the guys too. :) I like that they stock European chocolate bars(including Hanuta, my new favorite). My only sticking point is whoever does the prep for the salad bar chops things too coarsely, including the feta and mushrooms. $ 5 minimum on credit cards.

I felt ripped off when I left Chelsea Fine Food and even more so when I got home and took a closer look at my sandwich. I ordered a simple ham & swiss on a hero and while that is what I received I was very disappointed in the amount of ham. I even said as much at the store when I felt how light it was. I ended up eating a big piece of bread w/a touch of ham, cheese, lettuce & tomato. For this I was charged $ 8.11 and they wouldn’t even give me a pickle half or quarter. Seriously, not even a pickle!

I began working in this neighborhood about 10 months ago and decided that I would find a local deli to call my own. Every morning I would wake up around 7am, be ready by 8am, and get to Chelsea by 9am. One beautiful sunny Fall day I decided to try this place out because I missed out on breakfast and was super hungry. I left my office around the corner but returned quickly because it was so cold. I got a sweater, went back down, and was ready to try this deli out. As I walked I saw many beautiful and diverse people, lots of dog walkers, and progressive young folks collecting donations for great causes like Planned Parenthood. I immediately knew that this neighborhood was going to be a great place to work and that the Deli was going to add to my excitement. I remember how much I wanted to say hi to people as I walked to the deli. The sunny day on a crisp autumn Tuesday made me happy that I was back in NYC to live the big life. Here I was as a young professional discovering hidden gems, getting to know the community, and what the local deli had to offer. These options were a great contrast to the somewhat suburban lifestyle that I had experienced in my college years in the small progressive enclaves of Burlington, VT and Fort Collin, Colorado. I was ready to try my first deli sandwich in the neighborhood of Chelsea. What comes next is going to blow your mind. So after daydreaming from my office to the deli, which was a 2 minute walk if you’re curious, I finally stepped in. Immediately I was overwhelmed by the amount of choices I had at my disposal. I was so hungry and could not find a way to wrap around my choices. My hunger came from the fact that I had skipped out on breakfast because I ran out of food at home. The supermarket around my neighborhood had been closed for sometime this week and I couldn’t stock up on food in time. I quickly made my way to the sandwich section and ordered a chicken cutlet sandwich on a roll with mayo and lettuce and mozzarella cheese. It was great. I recommend this place!

I have passed this many times on my way to work and finally stopped in for a juice one day last week. I have since been back 2 more times. The juices are really good and you can see that all of the ingredients are really fresh. Had a smoothie once as well and was impressed. One star removed for two reasons - 1– I ordered a toasted bagel with butter and what I got was a cold, soggy bagel that had been pressed in the Panini maker — with the lines to prove it. 2– They DO take credit cards but it is only with the attachment to an Iphone. No real machine. This is a problem because some debit/credit cards do not work when run through on these. They do have an ATM but who wants to pay the fees if you don’t have to?

They microwave all of the food they prepare behind the counter. It wouldn’t be that bad but there are too many delis in NYC to have a soggy panini.

After ordering on seamless, waiting 20 mins to be notified that their server wasn’t working I walked over there to order. Told them what happened, zero compassion and they charged me more than the prices on seamless! After explaining that the prices were different online $ 1 more per sandwich, they still didn’t care.

Came here for lunch on Tuesday because I was in the area. Actually CREATED this place on Unilocal because it wasn’t listed but I’m just getting around to reviewing it now. I was really craving an egg and cheese on a toasted roll with butter because few things make me happier than breakfast foods — all day errday — so I gave into my craving here. There was a short line to order but it went by quickly and I saw it as a good sign if people were willing to wait. My order was taken quickly and properly executed, you have no idea how many times I see them plop my fried egg on an unbuttered or untoasted roll. My order isn’t rocket science, get it right. So my egg and cheese was delicious, just the right pinch of salt and pepper to give it some flavor, my cheese was deliciously melted in the center of my eggs and my roll was nicely toasted and buttered… such a simple thing that some delis simply cannot get right, so kudos. Staff here was pleasant and I did a quick walk through and they carry lots of grocery stuff, snack goods, have a decent baked goods section and an eh selection of beers, lol. Warm foods looked pretty tasty. The standard deli things with some extra like lemon chicken breast, breaded chicken breast, penne drowned in pesto sauce with what looked to be sundried tomatos, potato salad, etc. This place looks to be new and so far it’s a great addition to the neighborhood.

One time I came here to get a cup a coffee and a muffin in the morning… The service was quick and the staff was ok…
