This place takes the CUPS app, and I was in the area so I thought I’d drop by. The atmosphere is great! Very chill and relaxed. Even though the place was practically full, it still felt intimate. I didn’t feel crowded at all. I got quite literally the greatest peppermint mocha I have ever tasted. Most places(*cough* Starbucks *cough*) use a syrup or uses too much peppermint, overpowering the flavor of the mocha. This was the PERFECT balance, and I’m pretty sure they used actual peppermint. Whatever it was, it tasted way more natural than whatever it is Starbucks uses. It was a delightful blend of peppermint and mocha. Not to mention the size of the coffee was pretty big. The barista didn’t ask me what size and I didn’t see different sizes on the menu so I didn’t know what to expect. I was very pleasantly surprised with how much coffee I got for the money. I also decided to get a ham and swiss croissant, and it was absolutely delicious. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I will most definitely be returning to Perpetuum Café as soon as I possibly can.

It’s a very nice place but it’s small and so is a very limited number of seats. The coffee is good, people are nice and i would suggest you to get their Matcha Latte!

Disclaimer. I only wanted matcha! I finally was around here during their business hours(which don’t coincide with my free time). I popped in and got a matcha latte with soy milk. I like my matcha strong and bright green. This was a diluted sad face version. I thought the soy milk would have helped the situation but it added nothing. Aside from the green coloring I had no idea this was matcha without confirming the color each sip I took. Maybe their other offerings are good. I really should try something else? The food is very organic(no thanks) and the latte was weak. Maybe their coffee is better? The space itself was like any typical mom/pop coffee shop. Petite with no seating for more than 10 people(to capacity) mostly along the wall. The place seems cozy I just wish I got the same latte that everyone else raved about…

Great little place! My friend and I were needing some real coffee and I found this place on Unilocal. It’s a small place, but great atmosphere. Delicious pastries and fantastic coffee. I had a cappuccino which was really good but was totally jealous of my friend’s matcha green tea latte. Will definitely be back to try that.

This is a small coffee shot with about 10 seats and free wifi. The location is convenient to trains. Alternative café music plays softly in the background. The barista who served me was friendly(despite close to closing time) and offered suggestions based on my likes; she seemed proud of the peppermint mocha, so I gave it a shot. I’m often not a huge fan, even though I like all of the ingredients separately. However, this drink changed my mind. It was warm and comforting on the cold winter day. The dark chocolate added a deep flavor without being too rich(also helped by the non-fat milk). The peppermint flavor comes afterwards, and is not too overwhelming or artificial tasting. The thick dollop of homemade whipped cream makes up for the lack of fat in the milk! I would definitely stop in for this treat. They also sell some pastries, chocolates, treats, and boxed teas and cocoa from local shops.

Gute Qualität aber kleine Auswahl. Trotzdem zu empfehlenswert! Ich kann den Matscha Latte sehr empfehlen. Achtung kleines Lokal … eher für togo ausgelegt!

I love this little café; they have my beloved matcha latte, and some desert from a dessert restaurant, Chikalicious! And they have nice friendly staff. They have health conscious menu as well; I haven’t tried them yet, and am looking forward to them.

Fair warning: wall of text. TL;DR at the bottom. I really want to leave a good review, but tonight’s experience was«meh.» My friend was raving how awesome this place was and she was a regular here(especially since they accept CUPS), why not give it a shot? Perhaps the gentleman behind the counter was new at closing alone, or having an off-day or focused on getting home to cram for finals but he should have been focused on his customers. She ordered with him first, and he walked away without even asking me if I was ready(we were clearly together). He rang her up and then WALKEDAWAYFROMME without any acknowledgement and started to clean! He did turn around after a few sips of his own coffee and take my order of two drinks(Peppermint mocha and Matcha latte for my husband). To summarize our experience of just ordering a grand total of 3 drinks, this kid actually took almost half an hour-yes, it really was 25 minutes-to make them and they were definitely awful for paying almost $ 5 a piece. The drinks were lukewarm after sipping immediately, the matcha«caked» on top, the mochas were overly sweet and overwhelming. I am a barista myself so I understand that people have bad days. That is still no excuse to take up to 30 minutes for 3 drinks, ignore customers, and not feel for your milk to be hot enough and at least use a thermometer if you’re sensitive. Managers note: temp was easily 120–130 °F. Should at least be 160 °F. I do appreciate him asking our milk preferences(though please stop saying«special milk») and suggesting almond for the matcha when I asked for whole in both. I felt kind of bad when he asked us if we enjoyed everything and my friend didn’t want to hurt his feelings and said«yes!» while both my husband and I stayed silent. If you’re reading this now kid… I’m sorry I didn’t say anything! Please blame it on the easiness of hiding behind a screen. Also, if it’s 60 degrees out, please don’t have your heat on high. Just another thought. I look forward to coming back to hopefully a better experience than what this young green-eyed gentleman gave us this evening and having one of those Marie Belle chocolates I love so much and a pour over. TL; DR Young guy behind the counter took 30 minutes to make 3 subpar room-temperature specialty lattes(at $ 5 a piece) while the heat was blasting on an usually warm December day.

My boyfriend and I were supposed to go to Johnny’s for breakfast, but it was full, and I got irritated with the lady who’s making me keep the door open for her. Anyway… Johnny’s was full so we went here instead, which is next door. They won us over with their peppermint mocha sample. Their funky monkey is really good too as well as the muffins. I also had a nice chat with Korean lady who works here.(Sorry it’s been a month since I talked to you so I forgot your name already…) We’ll be back here when we go back to NYC.

great latte, friendly faces, cute décor. I spilled half of my latte on a guy’s shoe on my way out of the store and they offered to make me a new one, which is really sweet… unfortunately I was mortified I ran away. will be back again when its a «treat yo self» day

Such a cute little coffee shop in Chelsea! It’s brand spanking new too. I ordered a matcha latte with soy milk per the owner’s suggestion and it was delicious! There are 3 tables so the space is pretty small, but it has free wifi and is a nice warm break from the cool weather outside. The owner is very approachable and friendly. Would definitely stop by again when I’m in the mood for latte! Matcha is apparently one of their strong points. :)

Very comforting atmosphere, it feels like it’s more connected to the customer than your everyday cheap coffee shop«cough, couch… Starbucks» manager gave us a sample of a green tea chai latte and it was great! Also very stellar vanilla latte!

Awesome café right outside of my office — Been open for a few weeks now but never stopped in until today. Staff here was super nice and had an iced green tea which is going to replace my usual starbucks order. Bonus points: They received an order of larger cups while we were there(and after our drinks were already poured), but switched our drinks to the larger cups at no cost. Try them out!

The café is cozy with a simple/modern design. Most importantly, they have good quality coffee. They also serve the crêpe cake from chikalicious that I can’t resist.
