I really enjoyed this place. The service was great; our waiter was friendly and gave many great suggestions. All of the food we got was yummy and flavorful. Our favorite was the grilled fish, I think it was branzino. The décor was modern and pretty and the cocktails and mocktails that we ordered were also good. My drink was a bit sour, but our waiter nicely brought me sugar to add to it. Overall, we had a great night at Nerai.

Very nice restaurant! Service was amazing and everyone was very knowledgeable. The good was great! I would definitely recommend the grilled octopus and the Greek salad! Obviously, the grilled fish was out of this world grilled with olive oil, lemon and other spices. The Mastiha custard was also a very nice end to the meal! I would recommend to anyone!

Absolutely loved this restaurant. It was pretty quiet on a Friday night, I was surprised. The drinks were made very well, the short rib & lobster pasta are a must. The dessert was amazing. Can’t wait to go back!

High-end gourmet Greek cuisine. As good as Milos(and their other copycats), with nicer(quieter) atmosphere, and a very welcome ‘Tip-Free’ restaurant with excellent service! I wish restaurants like these would open in L. A or SF.

Found this restaurant visiting NYC. Great service especially since tipping isn’t allowed — maybe a little too attentive since our plates were taken the second we put down our forks. The food is delicious but pricey as are drinks. I’m not used to paying $ 18 for a glass of California wine. I would definitely return though.

Great service from the start. Hostesses were super nice and welcoming. Food was amazing, I had Greek salad and the sea bass. Great flavor, delicate buttery soft fish. Service was on point, I never wanted for anything and was well cared for. Atmosphere is chic/romantic but also great for work dinner or meeting up with a friend to catch up. Will be back, great night!

Nerai is a hip no-tipping restaurant in midtown. During the day, they go all out on a marine theme and decorate the place with light blue accents and white ropes. However, during the night, the lights go down, and trendier music comes on. It’s not Greek or Mediterranean really… it’s more modern American-style with some Mediterranean influence. I came for a quick lunch with coworkers. The menu has a lot of fresh and colorful entrees but sadly, no vegetarian options besides the salads(each salad is around $ 20). I wasn’t quite hungry so I went for the fruit salad and it was pathetic. It had slide melon, pineapple, and grapes — EXACTLY the same stuff you find pre-packaged at your local grocery store, but instead of $ 4 at the grocery store, it’s $ 12 at Nerai! I wasn’t impressed.

I attend an event yesterday at this restaurant. I walked up to the 2nd floor and was blown away by how gorgeous the space is. Now to the important part, the food… We started with a trio of spreads wth pita. Their tzatziki is sooooo good! We also had traditional Greek salad, spinach pies(another fav for the day), tuna tartare and another salad with baby arugula which was a bit sweet and super tasty. For my main dish I chose the chicken skewer and it came with potatoes, pita, tzatziki and cherry tomato salad. This dish brought me right back to my honeymoon in Greece. The meal ended with baklava(def the best I’ve had) & another dessert which I don’t remember the name but was also yummy. Everything was absolutely delicious! I also want to note we had amazing service from the staff which is always appreciated when out for a bite. I will definitely be returning with my husband for a date night and to have some ouzo!

I came back here for dinner finally and really enjoyed my experience. We came around 8pm on a Friday evening and found the place comfortably full. I arrived a little before my reservation at 8pm, but our table wasn’t ready until closer to 8:20pm or so. The ambiance here is upscale and sets a good tone for intimate conversations without any disruptions. Getting to the food, we did the octopus(cooked tender and had some nice flavors on a bed of chic peas) to start. For our mains, we did the halibut(cooked well however it was lacking a touch of seasoning but good overall) and the branzino(prepared very simply and done well). Overall, all the fish we had was enjoyable. To finish the meal off, I had an single espresso($ 6??) that wasn’t worth it and wish I hadn’t bothered which left a bad taste in my mouth. With that said, after a nice bottle of white during dinner and tax and tip, the bill came out to about $ 100/person which I thought was expensive but in line with the seafood that we ate. If you are looking for a low-key seafood spot in midtown, this is a good place to check out if you aren’t worrying about your credit card. Buon appetito.

Amazing food. And the nicest waiter ever. Food is healthy and flavorful. I had the Lavarki and sautéed spinach with lemon potatoes and the Greek yogurt brownie. Even down to the wine was amazing. Definitely coming back. Did I forget to mention how beautiful the décor is. Finally a place not so dark and gloomy. Makes me want to take a trip to Greece lol Just go here

Absolutely gorgeous dining room with fantastic food, and a very charming Chris Nerai definitely tried really hard to do marketing right online. They have an appealing website, lots of photos on Unilocal are obviously taken professionally by the company. Maybe that’s also why there are many Asian clients since Asians are big on Unilocal and writing reviews. As a marketing student I have to say good job there. Price is a little surprise though. On the menu looks like a normal brunch restaurant, the bill ends like 200(without tips) for two. We had an octopus, fish as main dish and two drinks. Have to say the ROI is not very high there. Never the less, still a great place to hang out :)

We stumbled upon Nerai by chance. Had reservations at a different restaurant but thanks to the mini snow storm we just Unilocaled this restaurant and went in due to close proximity. Thanks to our luck they had a table. Décor: very white and modern with a sort of beach house feel yet still cozy. Style: pretty classy and dressy. Noise level: it’s classy so it’s rather low energy so definitely won’t recommend for a loud night out with friends. Pros: the Zucchini Kefte was perfection. Thanks to the recommendation of our server. 2nd fav the Truffle Feta Fries, they were the right size and had just the right amount of feta cheese cause and truffle oil. Cons: the fish special was extremely bland, one of the main reasons I can’t give this eatery 5 stars. Other reason, the menu didn’t have enough options. Especially when it came to poultry there was only one choice. In the other words the menu was too limited. Overall it was a nice restaurant.

I had an amazing time at Nerai! My friend and I were craving quality seafood uptown at a nice restaurant that’s down-to-earth but sophisticated. We also have been eating a lot of greasy foods, so we wanted something light. We were both so happy to have found Nerai, because it was exactly what we were looking for. After making a reservation on OpenTable, we arrived a few minutes late. The host is super friendly and set up the table immediately. The tables in this small restaurant are nicely laid out, so there isn’t a «bad table» in the house. The menu has unique appetizers that are delicious and fresh. I loved the Octopus with Chickpeas, the Tuna Tatare, and the oysters were as fresh as oysters can get. For the entrees, we ordered the cod and halibut. Both fish could use more seasoning but tasted super fresh. However, since we wanted low-sodium options, these fish were perfect. We left not feeling bloated like most eating out make you feel. The service was also all around friendly, and I will definitely come back. I also loved how they paced the meal, which was just right for a restaurant like this. Go Nerai!

Beautiful restaurant with a fancy but lively atmosphere. Menu has lots of interesting Greek dishes, but the food ultimately didn’t blow me away. Service was quite slow, which we didn’t mind because we were having a leisurely dinner catching up with friends, but some people might find annoying if they have somewhere to be. We shared the«chips Nerai» to start and actually enjoyed that very much… it’s thinly sliced and fried tempura-like zucchini and eggplant slices with tzatziki sauce. I had the halibut as a main dish and that was fine, but nothing special. For dessert, we had the«saragli» which is an interesting combination of baklava(good, but could have been a bit crispier) with a mastiha(tasted kind of herbal) gelato.

Came here with a party of 6 on a Wednesday night, we had reservations, but still had to wait about 20 minutes! The place was pretty packed… I liked the feel of the restaurant, we sat downstairs, so I didn’t see what upstairs looked like, but downstairs had classy character. We decided to go with the Prix Fixe dinner, app, entrée and dessert. Appetizers: Octopus(extra $ 10) — was amazing and totally with the extra $ 10. Perfectly prepared, so tender, all around amazing!!! Greek Salad — was also amazing, I rarely order salad as I’m always disappointed, but this was very authentic tasting(last time I had a salad this good was in Greece). Vegetables were all very fresh and delicious. Short Rib Meatballs — were okay, of the three appetizers I tried, I liked the meatballs the least … But they weren’t bad. Entrée: Whole Lavraki — whole Mediterranean Sea bass, very large portion, very tender and tasty(there are quite a few bones, so be careful!). Comes with head on the plate and fish filleted. Short Rib Yiouvetsi — medium portion of meat over those small noodles(not quite risotto), can’t think of what they’re called! But flavor was delicious and meat was cooked well, very tender and yummy! Dessert: Greek Yogurt — fancy Greek yogurt with honey, very refreshing, light and delicious! Was my favorite of the three desserts! Portokalopita — cake with chocolate ice cream, very heavy and rich but delicious as well
