The ice cream here is good! It tasted exactly like Horlicks malted milk. I definitely preferred the ice cream over the crack pie… thought it was too sweet, but then again I don’t have a major sweet tooth so that could be why. Luckily when I came there wasn’t any lines, so it was a quick grab and go. Overall, good dessert place.

Went here for a try once. It’s good, there’s the sweetened ice cream and the fruity ice cream. We decided to go with the sweetened milk ice cream. I’d go back again. But, I wasn’t blown away or anything. Pretty good.

I personally love cereal so having cereal milk soft serve was so good for me. The ambiance of the little hole in the wall was very modern and cute, cramped but cute. Took about 5 seconds to receive my order after I paid the cashier which was great! Overall little pricey for the dainty cup but definitely satisfies the craving! Would go again if in the area!

Crack Pie. That’s all you need to know. I got the milkshake version and although it was a bit too sweet for me, it was refreshing. The line was intimidating at first as it stretched outside. One of the customers leaving said it would take no more than 10 minutes. It was probably less than that. Great place for desserts for sure.

Small store on 56th! There isn’t a huge sign outside or anything, so make sure you keep your eyes peeled! The line probably took 5 minutes to get through, but that gives you some time to look at the unique menu. Got the cereal milk ice cream w/the cereal topping! The other flavor they had that time was the fruity cereal milk, I got a sample of it and it was delicious! Unfortunately, you can only get one sample, so I just got cereal milk ice cream, but definitely wish I got the fruity cereal one! The cereal milk was just average, it didn’t live up to all the hype that I’ve been hearing. The ice cream was icy and to me, it didn’t really have much flavor. Maybe it was because I ate a bunch of my cereal topping first, but the ice cream just didn’t taste that great. The cereal topping was a little salty for my taste, so wasn’t a huge fan of that either. Overall, glad I got to finally try the famous cereal milk ice cream, but probably won’t be paying the money for it again — unless it’s the fruity cereal one! Will drop by again though to try the cookies and the crack pie!

If you blink, you’ll walk right by it. We had a group of 4, and we missed it the first couple of times. I blame it on 4 people with ADD in NYC. First off, the cereal milk ice cream dipped in corn flakes brought me back to being a kid. It was a 20 minute wait around 1:30pm, but it was well worth it. My friends and I ended up walking to a local coffee shop with an assortment of their cookies for the perfect post lunch dessert. I like that they are taking a simple concept and sticking with it.

Momo-Fook me. I just don’t get it. Sure, the aptly-named ‘crack pie’ was damn tasty, and yes, the cereal milk soft serve is both unique and delectable, but I still don’t understand why everyone is creamin’ their jeans over this place. Nearly 1,200 reviews indicates a very high level of popularity, but a 3.5* overall rating tells me that more than a handful of people left feeling gipped or otherwise unsatisfied(myself among them). Upon hearing my plans to go to New York, roughly a dozen online friends of mine reacted: AREYOUGOINGTOMILKBAR!!! «Uh…yeah?» Maybe they knew something I didn’t? It’s small, it’s not terribly well-marked, and there’s no place to sit down. So have fun eating your cornflake-covered sweet treat on a dirty curb in Midtown West… or you could always walk with it in hand as you dodge insane cabbies. Although the line of people was longer than we’d anticipated, the workers were in no hurry to move things along. Oh, and when we looked around for spoons or something to eat the ice cream with, we came up empty. That’s right Neo, THEREISNOSPOON. The cashier was neither helpful nor apologetic as the cereal milk cone slowly began to melt and we scrambled to find napkins, pushing past the ridiculous line of customers that had backed up out the door and into the street. The compost cookie was deemed to be «just okay» and had butterscotch chips, oatmeal, pretzels, and graham crackers. The cornflake cookie got neutral reviews among the three of us, but the real winner was the potato chip cookie. Each was $ 2.25. Bread = 4.5 Circuses = 1.5 I can’t shake the feeling that this place is more than a tad overhyped. Long, slow-moving lines and rather pricey(albeit interesting) bakery items. But a lack of places to sit down – nary a goddamn chair, bench, ottoman, chaise lounge – is the biggest drawback and anyone else stopping in will likely share this sentiment. Am I glad we stopped in? Yes. Will I return? Probably not. Would I recommend? Meh, 6 of 1 //half dozen of another(cookie).

If you are in NYC and in the area check this place out for a sweet treat! After seeking this place out we stopped by to pick up some goodies, I highly recommend snagging a few cookies to take home! I had the cornflake chocolate chip marshmallow cookie and it was amazing — I was splitting it with someone and ate ¾ of it(on accident of course!) I wish I had grabbed more to take with me. I also sampled the milk cereal soft serve and it was delicous, sweet, cold, refreshing and tasted JUST like the milk left after a delcious bowl of cereal. I would go back just to get the soft serve again!

Review for Milk bar dessert only! We got the famous crack pie, a marshmallow chocolate cookie and a milky cereal/fruity milk twist soft serve with crunchy corn flakes. The soft serve was by far the best thing — if you like cereal and milk at all, you’ll love this. I recommend the twist so you can try both flavors! Crack pie was very, very sweet so not my favorite, and the cookie was kinda meh.

Must get: Blueberry & cream cookie! Everything else was just A-OK. Cereal milk was good but not creamy enough for my liking. It felt more icey than anything. I bought a couple cookies to take home as gifts and of course I got some for myself! The blueberry cookie was my favorite! It was soft, chewy, with large pieces of blueberry. Compost cookie was hard and didn’t stand out to me. Maybe I got a bad cookie? Cornflake chocolate chip cookie was sounds more interesting than it taste. I didn’t taste too much cornflakes. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to try the corn cookies because I gave them away. We came right when they opened and avoided a line. After trying some of the popular desserts, I can’t justify waiting in a long line if I were to visit again.

I came to pick up some renowned cookies. The front was very unassuming. The interior is small and hip– note there isn’t any seating if you’re just getting dessert. I got a box of six cookies. The cookies themselves were very creative flavor-wise and well-made. That being said, the flavors I tried were a bit too sweet for my taste buds. I did like the texture– soft and chewy, and the cornflakes worked really well baked into the cookies.

Momofuko Milk Bar NY: Manhattan: UWS 3pm Monday 2nd May 2016 Three Stars I love David Chang but I am not a milk bar fan. The soft serve had the right creamy consistency. The overall lack of sweetness was enjoyable. The cereal crunch had almost salty taste which complemented this frozen dairy dessert. The Crack Pie is an Americanized version of a Chinese Moon Cake or kind of like chess pie in a harder form. Overall, it was worth a try but not a return visit.

Was pleasantly surprised to find out there was one in this area. We were just around the area(probably shopping) and when I Unilocaled«Desserts», this place came up! When we got there, it made sense to me why there would be a Milk Bar in this area. It was the entrance to their dine-in restaurant, Fuku+. Pretty smart idea if you ask me. Grab a soft served or cookies before getting seated AND/OR after eating dinner. It’s a pretty«sweet» location! Not too much pedestrian traffic around the area, so lines formed outside are a little more bearable. This location DOES have the crack pie soft served so thank goodness to that! Service is pretty straightforward. You order, you pay, you get your order and ENJOY!

This review is mainly for the Man Who Lives Next Door to Milk Bar. Be sure to eat your Milk treats in front of the store, not his house. He is watching you from inside his apartment, and will come out and ask you to move it if you linger. The sign out front(see pictures) is confusing if you only see it on one side. Which side of «this side» do you mean, sign? And so… people trickle over in front of the house where The Man Who Lives Next Door to Milk Bar lives. And so begins the repeat performance of him coming out and shooing them away. Milk Bar: Tasty treats at a premium price. Staff is efficient, but doesn’t seem too thrilled to be there. The Man Who Lives Next Door to Milk Bar: Entertaining to watch.

DONOTGETTHEHYPE. Small shop and a restaurant at bottom. The menu is written on the wall. The cousin ordered the Crack pie which was heavily advertised as the best thing ever. I ordered the cereal milk and pretzel twist with cornflakes. That was super salty! I expected the cornflakes to be like frosted flakes but they were super crunchy like bacon bits. The Crack pie was mediocre as well. You couldn’t taste what was so special about it. The cookies was soft and buttery but I couldn’t finish it. The hype was definitely not worth it especially since SF has a lot more specialty ice cream places that are less expensive and better flavor.

I came here and ordered the milk soft serve with corn flakes. It tasted like the milk that is left over from your cereal in a very very good way. It was very cold outside and this made everything so much better even though it was also very cold. I loved the concept and the décor. It was not packed because I went in the morning. I can’t wait to go back to try the crack pie!

There was a lot of hype surrounding my visit Milk Bar. I was in the city visiting family, and they had the idea to stop for a shake after lunch. There was a line out the door, but it moved relatively fast. After reading many Unilocal reviews and getting tips from friends who have been before, I decided I couldn’t just settle on one item. I got the cereal milk fro-yo with hot fudge and cereal crunch, a piece of crack pie to go, as well as a compost cookie and a corn cookie to go. The fro-you was just OK, for my personal taste buds. The cornflakes added a nice crunch and hint of salt, but the fudge didn’t add much at all. I was a little disappointed with this overall, and didn’t even finish it. I ate the crack pie the next day, and it was absolutely delicious! I would go back to milk bar just for the crack pie. And then I tried the compost cookie and corn cookie later that day, and while they were both interesting and unique, I don’t know that they were for me. The corn cookie was very soft, but I just didn’t like the flavor. The compost cookie was more crunchy, but again not my favorite flavor. Overall: crack pie, crack pie, crack pie. yes.

The cereal milk did change my life. It is Frosted Flakes flavor, and they use dehydrated corn powder, milk, and sugar to make it. The cookies were just alright. I think it is their ice cream that gets them the majority of their business. Pretzel and cereal milk are the only flavors, aside from the two swirled together. The line went out the door and 10:30pm on a Friday night, and we were in it for about a half hour. A very very slow moving line, because there were only a couple people working, one on register and the other on drink duty. I don’t think I will go back, but I am glad I went! It’s all about the experience.

I had heard so much about Momofuku Milk Bar before coming to NYC and knew I had to try it if I could, so when I found a Momofuku near Times Square, I squealed! The menu is HUGE, so I decided to get«the greatest hits» combo, featuring all of Momofuku’s popular items: cereal milk soft serve, compost cookie, crack cake, and birthday truffles. The combo was $ 16, which I think is reasonable considering how many items you get! Cereal milk soft serve: This actually tastes like the milk that’s leftover in your bowl after you’ve finished your cereal, and it is so creamy and delicious! The ice cream is dipped in cornflakes to give a nice bit of crunch. This item was nice, but not my favorite of the combo. Compost cookie: This cookie is the size of a hand, and it is so yummy! This cookie has an interesting mix of ingredients including oats, pretzels, chocolate chips, graham crackers, and potato chips, and it is incredibly tasty! The cookie is not too sweet and has a nice crunch to it because of the potato chips and pretzels, but again not my favorite. Crack cake: I was really confused as to why this cake is called crack cake, but after eating it I understood why. It is like a slice of pie that is incredibly dense, rich, and indulgent, and it tastes so amazing that you can’t help wanting more. The crack cake is definitely my favorite of the combo. Birthday truffles: You get a pack of three truffles, which are essentially cake pops that haven’t been dipped in icing but oh my goodness are they amazing! They taste like the most amazing birthday cake I’ve ever tried, and it even has the rainbow confetti sprinkles in the cake batter to give the truffles the appearance of birthday cake. They are perfectly bite sized treats that are sweet and rich and make a delicious dessert. These are definitely another close favorite. I think the greatest hits combo is an excellent introduction to Momofuku’s range of items, because you get to taste the soft serve, the cookies, the cakes, and their small bites all in one go. I’ll definitely be back for the crack cake and the birthday truffles, and I can’t wait to try out some of their other treats!

Decent soft serve ice cream… but I’ve had better. After walking through MoMA, I wanted something refreshing. I was excited to see that the Milk Bar was right around the corner. I’ve been dying to try the soft serve ice cream that everyone’s been raving about. Sadly, I think I set my expectations too high, because I honestly wasn’t that impressed. I tried a sample of each both flavors offered and wasn’t much of a fan of either but felt obligated to get something since I was already there. So I ended up getting the cereal and pretzel twist with added cornflakes. The cereal was a little bland while the pretzel was overbearingly salty. I got the two twisted which helped with the flavors. Also, $ 0.75 for the cornflakes… so not worth it. Most of the cornflakes rolled on the outside of the ice cream falls off while you’re eating it. Might as well bring your own box of cereal if you know you’re coming here. The total came to $ 6 – 7 for a small serving… save your money and go elsewhere. They could benefit from upping their staff. The line was backed up — there was only one person taking orders and another fulfilling them… on a busy Saturday afternoon. I’m glad I tried it, but I definitely won’t be coming back.
