Ordered this cake online– its not a custom order– asked for«Happy Father’s Day» exactly as the sample cake but instead received«Happy Fathir’s Day» I’m really upset that my Dad’s cake is mispelled and I’m even more upset that when I called it out to the guy working at Billy’s he brushed it off as a small detail and didn’t even offer to correct. Used to be my go to place for birthday cakes but now I’m super disappointed. A $ 40 cake should come with a little more care.

Having been to their Chelsea original, dropped by to be shocked by the number of prepackaged products, and the fact they seemed more appealing than their other items. Two other shocks were that the peanut butter bar contained espresso(very prominent flavor-wise) and hydrogenated oils, but can’t deny it was tasty.

What the heck? Unless I was served the wrong cupcake the gluten free ones tasted absolutely wonderful. Boom! Enough said.

I stopped by here the other day and got a slice of cake to go. I’ve been several times in the past to this and other locations. This visit was just as good as I remembered it was. The cake was moist and not too sweet which paired well with the frosting is a very sweet traditional butter cream which is my favorite so I really enjoyed this cake. I just wish they had more variety of cupcakes.

Picked up a dozen beautiful cupcakes which my office loved. The customer service at this location can definitely improve. Start by being genuinely kind to your customers. I don’t need your sarcasm and bad vibes to ruin my day!

My friend and I really needed some sweet and hot stuff after a fun time playing at Central Park with the snow. Came to Billy’s for a quick bite. We shared a small seasonal cupcake and an apple cider. The lemon flavor cake was sugary and tasty with the help of fluffy cream, balanced well with the hot apple cider! Nicely done!

The pumpkin cheesecake here is the BESTCHEESECAKE I have ever eaten! It’s sooo good! It is a decent sized portion and just the right amount of pumpkin flavor without being overpowering. I should try some of their other products but I just can’t help myself and keep coming back for the pumpkin!

Let me put it in terms that are easy to understand — BESTPEANUTBUTTERPIEEVER! Wow — can’t wait to go back and try some more of what they offer. The peanut butter pie was creamy, smooth, delicious, velvety, and most of all — not overly sweet. There was enough sweetness to satisfy your craving, but not the amount that puts you into that sugar-induced-after-sweet-treat-coma. It’s hard to make a judgment on one slice of pie, but I’m betting my next visit will produce an equally satisfying result as it hits my taste buds.

Terribly disgusting! As a woman in front of me in line said, ‘I’d call this a brickcake, not a cupcake.’ I didn’t know what she meant and bought a cupcake. One bite and I knew it was stale, old, and hard as a brick! Disgusting! Like the woman before me in line, I did not get a refund for the brickcake, and the cashier was rude to her, to me, and to others. The people behind me in line were smart, and when they saw how badly the woman in front of me and I were treated, they didn’t buy anything from here. Bad service, but I guess she could be rude since mostly everyone in line was a tourist.

The cup desserts here are amazing. I loved both the banana pudding cup and the strawberry shortcake cup. Both are very flavorful and tasty. Definitely worth a try if you like either banana or strawberry. Highly recommended.

I had the blueberry topped cheesecake. It was perfect. Everything looked delicious… I’ll probably head back today.

Poorly crafted cappuccino. Espresso was bordering on bitter, and milk was improperly frothed. The employees need to learn to properly draw an espresso and to properly froth milk. Use a thermometer to get proper temperature. Never froth milk twice.

Of all the choices in the basement of the Plaza hotel we are glad chose Billy’s. We had a banana cupcake that was delicious and a strawberry lemonade cupcake, also delicious. Our Brooklyn Brewed coffee and macchiato were also excellent. Service was great but it was difficult to find a seat to Enjoy.

Yesterday I made my usual visit to Billy’s at the Plaza Hotel. The Plaza Food Court has a wide variety of food selections. Billy’s is my go to for desert. I always get the Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie. It is the top pick if you love Peanut Butter. You can get cookies, cupcakes, ice box pie, all fresh, home made by the bakery. The employees are great. Friendly and helpful with my questions. Patient with my chatter! Stop by the Plaza Hotel for a light lunch and desert at Billy’s!

I went to Billy’s to order a carrot cake for my sister’s birthday. I called them and they were super nice on the phone and were able to accommodate all of my wishes for the cake! The carrot cake is by far the best that I have had in the city and reasonably priced. While the individual slices may be a little costly at 6.50 a slice, it is totally worth it. I went to pick up the cake and while waiting for them to bring it out, I bought myself a slice of the banana cake and it was DIVINE. It might almost be as good as the carrot cake if not better! I highly recommend coming here if you’re in the mood for a sweet treat! And walking around the Plaza Food Hall is a treat in itself =)

I got to try some treats from Billy’s Bakery when a friend brought mini cupcakes and cookies for a BBQ potluck. The Snickerdoodle cookies were pretty thin, about the size of a small palm. The buttery, old fashioned sugar cookies were coated in cinnamon sugar. These cookies were slightly undercooked and doughy — just the way I like it — but I wished they were thicker so that I could enjoy the texture. I tried one of the mini cupcakes. I had the Classic Chocolate with blue vanilla buttercream. The chocolate cake, made with rich and dark cocoa, was perfectly moist on top but a bit dry at the bottom. The amount of frosting was just right for the size of the cupcake. I’d say that Billy’s Bakery had pretty decent treats, but nothing that completely wow-ed me.

We stopped here for a slice of cake & chocolate milk. They’re raspberry lemon cake was light and delicious and they’re chocolate milk was good as well. I’m only docking one point because I wish there was either awnings or umbrellas outside so that on a rainy day people can enjoy their desserts outside of more chairs inside. We had to sit outside on a wet bench which wasn’t the most enjoyable thing.

I’ve been dying to visit their original location, but I can’t seem to get over there — someday. Anyway, the Plaza Food Hall location did the trick. The apple pie is incredible — I got the last slice, which maybe made it taste better — oh, and I ate it outside on a bench with a good friend on a sunny day in Central Park — and they package everything up in adorable boxes. Will be back.

I’ve resisted trying Billy’s for years at this point. Every time I glanced at reviews, I would go back and forth between whether it would actually be good or not. I’m generally pretty disappointed with most of the popular cupcake chains, so I’ve erred on the side of caution and eschewed Billy’s. Well, as I wandered around the Plaza Food Hall today with a grumbling stomach today, my eyes and hunger got the best of me. The cupcakes didn’t look super appealing; however, when I caught sight of the Snickers peanut butter pie confection, I lost of my resolve. I had to try this peanut butter pie(Oh and a pumpkin bar, for good measure). Suffice it to say, I now understand why I’ve avoided Billy’s. The sweets are just not that well executed or tasty. I agree with a lot of other reviews that suggest the cake is dry – it is. The pumpkin bar(which was more like a pumpkin cupcake in bar form) had a decent pumpkin flavor but it was very dry. The icing was good but that’s kind of a gimme. As for the peanut butter pie: no thanks. It was a mess of peanut butter goo that was not super flavorful. The graham cracker crust which I usually cannot eat enough of was pretty bland. I ate a couple of bites and realized it was not worth the calories and I threw it away. If the cupcakes are as dry as the pumpkin bar was, go to Crumbs, go to Magnolia, skip Billy’s. I should have.

CUPCAKES, CAKE, &PIE located in the Plaza Food Hall I came here to try their cakes since I was looking for a place to buy birthday cupcakes for a friend –banana cake slice: the middle was moist and yummy but it got dry towards the outside edge of the slice –red velvet cake: nothing too special –banana cream pie: pretty underwhelming i wanted to like billy’s after seeing them at the world’s largest bake sale in grand central, but the cakes just didn’t impress me! needless to say i went elsewhere for those birthday cupcakes NOTE: if you order to eat at the Plaza you get it served on a plate instead of boxed up!
