This was a really super cute place for brunch. I enjoyed their strawberry shortcake and they made a decent burger and fries. I’m sad to see the place to go. It was such a staple in the neighborhood albeit overpriced but you were also paying for atmosphere and ambiance.

This place was a super whimsical brunch spot, and quite tasty too. Sure, a bit overpriced for ordering basics like biscuits and bacon. But sorry to hear it’s gone, all the same. And surprised too, as it always seemed bustling.

Ordered: Homemade OJ, Lumber jane, and Baked crème brûlée toast Cons – The french toast was too burnt and crunchy on the outside. Overall, the food was overpriced considering it tasted like average diner items.

This place was wonderful. The menu had many options for all tastes. The physical space is a bit small but that doesn’t matter when you go in you feel as though you have been transported into a 1950s establishment. I loved it! I sat at the bar which I try to do as much as possible when trying new places or dining alone. Their baked goods are beautiful. I wanted to try one but was too full so opted for buying a cawfee cup instead. The prices are reasonable, the service great, the waitresses very friendly, the bathrooms are clean and they definitely accommodate any dietary need you may have. I can’t remember if they had gluten free items but definitely look to see. I didn’t have to wait but shortly after my arrival I noticed a line to get again. If you have read my reviews, I don’t tend to wait more than 10 – 15 minutes to get into any establishment. I don’t think any place is great enough to take up more than 15 minutes of my time when NYC has a ton of places to choose from to eat! While back home I ate there twice and when I go back will return. A definite must.

A very cosy and cute place. The Waiter is very nice. Good Food we had the fried chicken sandwich. I won’t recommend the strawberry cake milk shake but the service is soo good and the food also that I put a 4 stars :)

**** Great service, delicious food, Student discount *** Came here with a group of friends for brunch. Luckily, we RSVP so we bypassed the 30 minute wait time – recommend to RSVP. Food was delicious and filling. Our waitress was very accommodating and helpful. There is a student discount if you pay CASHONLY.

Great little shop for brunch or lunch. Menu is hit or miss, my brunch date didn’t like her entrée(the pulled chicken poblano) and the staff was very accommodating and let her re-order with no trouble(not to our faces anyway). The fried chicken BLT was delish. Service is meh… we were there either during a menu or shift change and the staff was sitting around eating and socializing and not getting me my water or condiments or my pickles… If you pay in cash you get 10% off your meal, this comes in handy when you’re paying $ 4 for 10 oz of Arnold Palmer… nice little place, a bit pricy, food is average to good. I’ll definitely be back.

Please don’t review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you’re connected in aThe food was great and fresh. I was upset that I couldn’t get a waffle. I was told the waffle maker had been broken for a few weeks. You can’t have 5 – 6 waffle dishes and have a broken waffle machine. However, i did enjoy the french toast. It was similar to that of a bread pudding. Also, the restaurant is super small. I know they want to get as many people in as possible, but try to remember customers need space to get in and out of tables. ny way to the owner or employees.

The wait can be long on the weekends like most brunch places in the city, so plan ahead and make a reservation! They’re pretty good with having tables ready if you’ve reserved in advance. I came for brunch with a friend and she was running late(subway problems boo) but they made sure to not discard our reservation completely. We both got the crème brûlée french toast which was a thick chunk of french toast that wasn’t overly sweet but soft and yummy. The bread used was a sweet one to begin with and it came with syrup and strawberry butter! Service was a bit slow since it was crazy crowded, but she was sweet. It’s out of the way for me so I’m not sure I’ll be back. But the fact that their egg dishes come with biscuits make me kind of want to.

I wanted to like Kitchenette so much more than I actually did. My friend and I met here for Sunday brunch, lured in by the cute menu and promise of amazing strawberry sangria so I made a reservation via OpenTable over 2 weeks in advance(I know, so eager). I got there 20 minutes early for our reservation and was told that because I was early, I would need to wait until our reservation slot. This is totally understandable, since I was early, so I was completely fine with waiting it out. And I would have been fine with waiting, if they hadn’t given away every available table(continuing to take walk ins and seating them at tables), so twenty minutes later, we were given the option of either sitting at the counter or waiting another 30 – 45 minutes for a table to open up. After we said that we had a reservation and had been told to wait, we were simply told there was nothing that could be done. So since we were hungry and still wanting sangria, we settled in, and since we were left with no one to take our order for 15 minutes, we ordered brunch entrees and the famous strawberry sangria. Let me tell you, the famous strawberry sangria tasted like 0% alcohol and 100% Juicy Juice or something. It was not good, came in a teeny tiny glass(I get it, it’s the city, but if you’re going to put something in the smallest glass ever, at least make it taste like alcohol). The pancakes I ordered were fine, but nothing above that. Definitely not a place to go to if you’re not absolutely positive you’ll enjoy long periods of conversation with the person/people you’re going with(read: don’t go here for a first date) as the service is REALLY slow, so you’ll have long periods of time for chatting(worked for me because it gave us lots of interrupted time to catch up, but maybe not the best business practice). At the end of the day, there are so many stellar brunch places in the city, specifically in Tribeca, that to me, it isn’t worth returning to Kitchenette.

This has morphed into my rainy day spot. Straight to the point classic breakfast dishes, no fancy-pants frill.(which based on what you’re looking for, could be good or bad.) IHOP-esque menu… but better… fresher…cleaner…happier.(is it just me, or do ihop guests always look sad? like they came to breakup with their significant other over breakfast) anyway, I’m not sure if this is on purpose, but the hot cocoa they serve isn’t hot. It’s perfectly heated so you don’t have to wait for it to cool to drink, but not too cool, that there a gross film on top.(they also use homemade marshmallows **glowing hands emoji**) If it’s on purpose, hell yes. If this is not on purpose… it should just be called warm cocoa.

Kitchenette NY Manhattan Tribeca 1:30pm Sunday 18th January 2015 Four Stars The streets were pretty quiet on this rainy Sunday afternoon but this brunch spot was pretty crowded. However, I aggressively approached the counter and we got a table immediately albeit by the window by the door. We ordered sparkling wine since Brunch is not brunch without something bubbly. They were out of the pear so I got the apple pie without the simple syrup and my date ordered the Classic. There was very little juice in either of them. As for food we split the blackberry cherry pancakes and the chipotle turkey hash. The 3 pancakes were centimeter thick fluffy carbohydrates of joy. Their butter was sweet and delicious. The turkey was relatively moist, the sweet potatoes were hearty, and the corn added a sweetness and a change in texture. The biscuit was flaky but still dry. They served us water in Togo cups since they ran out of glasses and I had to ask for silverware since there wasn’t any on the table. However the service was good considering the time of day and business of the place. *there is a 10% discount for paying cash.

We were looking for a new Christmas Day breakfast place. I found Kitchenette with the help of Unilocal and made a reservation. The look and feel of the place is warm and inviting. It’s a little tight up front but the back tables are less so. We were greeted by a friendly fellow at the door and when we announced we were a little early, he welcomed us and walked us to our table. Very cool. Our waitress, a perky and energetic young woman named Yenick, answered some questions and made recommendations. All with a charming smile. Our coffee, from Dallis a Brothers, was rich, hot, not bitter and served in a generous mug. My wife had TexMex eggs and I had the crème brûlée French toast. Both were full of flavor and very well cooked. The eggs came with breakfast potatoes and I, suspecting greatness, also requested a side and dove in first when they arrived. Spicy, well cooked and yummy… Definitely worth ordering on your breakfast visit. The French toast came with real butter and a small cup of genuine maple syrup. That tells me that the people at Kitchenette care about quality. Good food, great service, inviting atmosphere and prices that reflect the value — recommended.

$ 35 for breakfast for 2!!! Wth? $ 5.50 for a «fruit cup» which consisted of nothing but sliced bananas and strawberries? Really?! Oh, come on. Even for the City, that’s absurd! VERY cutely decorated place, LOVE the atmosphere, it’s cozy(small), and just so cutesy. Grits were GREAT! Server was terrible, but nice. He said he usually worked dinner. We went at about 10:15am on a Thursday morning. Good time to go. No wait, plenty of seats. He came back 3x. Each time, with no water, which we repeatedly asked for. Tried the famous strawberry-lemonade. Way too sweet for me. Asked about the Crème Brulee French Toast, server said it must be only available on weekends. Had to send the lemonade back. Got a Coke(no free refills, by the way). Crossed it off the NYC to do list. Done. Won’t do it again on my dime.

A few friends and I went to Kitchenette for brunch, and overall, I had a mixed experience here with hits and misses. This is a typical diner place, with baked goods in a display case and an old-school, somewhat dirty, feel. The vibe is very frenetic, and everyone is cramped in. Not really complaining about that aspect, since it is a diner after all, but just be aware that there isn’t much personal space. We were there for brunch, but we all opted for lunch foods. I had the chicken avocado BLT, which was fine but nothing special. The garlic fries were just flavorless pieces of potatoes. Both of my friends got the burger, and they really really liked it. If I were to go back that’s what I would order, because they wouldn’t stop raving about it. Service was fine, but uneven. I wanted to try the red velvet or Nutter Butter shakes, but they didn’t have any vanilla ice cream. That was a downer. Ultimately, I’m kind of indifferent about Kitchenette. Relative to most restaurants in this area, this place is pretty inexpensive and relatively fast. A very casual spot for brunch.

Super bon! Les blueberry pancakes sont super bon(mais bourratif), le jus d’orange pressé est juste assez sucré et les assiettes de brunch sont tres varié il y en a pour tous les gouts. Et le cadre est super sympa !

This place has such a cute décor I honestly enjoyed sitting there and eating. It is very intimate AKA small and you will«love thy neighbor.» However, it is not extremely uncomfortable and I was able to enjoy my meal just fine. The food is amazing! Home made so it is a little pricey but it is completely worth it!!! I was with my friend and we got a very good meal and coffee and OJ and it was approximately 50 dollars. Their coffee is delish! If you love coffee you will enjoy it its nice and strong. Orange juice is definitely worth the 4.75, especially since it comes in a mason jar! My server Jay was really good. He was extremely nice and checked up on us just enough but not too much. I like when waiters know how to wait on tables properly. There was a kitchen member who brought out our food incorrectly and we were telling him it’s not ours and he didn’t listen and wanted to leave them there anyway but my waiter came out immediately and told him that we were right. He got the tables wrong, it was the order for the table next to us. However, it did not taint my experience. I definitely recommend this place. It has lots of options and you can get cocktails for brunch which is always nice especially on Sundays [not sure how they taste, although I went on a sunday I did not order drinks]. I only waited 15 minutes for 2. It was busy but not unreasonable with wait time. TRYIT =]

Do not order from this place. The difference in their quality of service and food for delivery is uncanny to actually being in their establishment. The worst!

Kitchenette is a lovely, hidden brunch place in the heart of Tribeca. I lived in Tribeca for a few months and did not even know it existed. My only regret is not having come here sooner! The décor is lovely and quaint. It is a bit on the girly side(colorful polka dot tables) so it might be something to keep in mind, but I found it adorable and fun. The staff was pleasant and friendly while we were here for Saturday brunch. I had the pancakes and we ordered a pitcher of the lemonade to share. The pancakes were some of the FLUFFIEST pancakes I have ever had and were nicely sprinkled with a little bit of powdered sugar. The lemonade really stole the show, however. Yes, it can sound silly to rave about lemonade but as not a fervent lemonade drinker, I found Kitchenette’s to be truly out of this world. We ordered a pitcher of lemonade for the two of us to share and it we were able to finish it(which was no easy task, I might add) before our check came. In true Tribeca fashion, the lemonade came in a large mason jar, which was a nice touch and consistent with Kitchenette’s overall décor. The lemonade was not too cold, nor sweet, nor sour — it was the perfect blend and was a great choice on a summery Saturday in the city. I cannot recommend it enough! The place is a little small so it fills up very fast over the weekend and can get very busy, especially for brunch. With that said, I recommend a reservation as it seems to be a favorite for those who live in Tribeca. I have also heard amazing things about their baked goods which stared tantalizingly at us during our meal — next time, I will definitely try some of those as well!

Kitchenette is a charming and cozy place that serve’s good ol’ comfort food. I recommend the getting the chipotle turkey hash– they use sweet potatoes and their homemade turkey sausage in this dish. I also tried my other friend’s dishes and they were all delish– the chili burger, and the honey glazed fried chicken with Mac and cheese. Lastly, skip dessert and instead order one of the milkshakes— get the Peanut Butter milkshake — served in a cute mason Jar and topped with a peanut butter cookie– best peanut butter milkshake I’ve ever had.

Kitchenette is one of these places that you should definitely try at least once if you are ever in the Tribeca area. It’s definitely a popular gem, quaint and cute. Don’t expect this place to accommodate big groups so bring your family gatherings elsewhere. The wait is long, the service is rushed and expect your elbows to be bumped and your personal space invaded. It’s definitely a hole in the wall type of ambience, but I believe the experience is worth it. A visit to Kitchenette definitely warrants getting at least one pitcher of the delicious strawberry sangria. It is the most tasty sangria that I have ever had in a long time. It costs $ 25, but should fill at least 6 – 7 cups. There’s nothing special about its omelettes or salad, but I would highly recommend their biscuits and strawberry cream cheese. I never tried, but I assume their afternoon tea and snack offerings should rival that of Alice’s Tea Cup and other«expensive» alternatives. P. S. When you visit Kitchenette, you should visit in either 2’s or 4’s. These are best for seating arrangements.
