The gaslight was a hot spot in the meat packing district! I was thrilled to see all the young and old people out about and dancing. There was a Dj who was playing killer music while the bar flowers danced. This bar is a good vibe. Bouncer is a bit intense, DONOT hold the door open for your friends. Great for groups if you can grab a couch.

When the lines everywhere else are out the door, you come here as it’s way less pretentious than most Meatpacking spots. Fun music and a good time if you don’t expect too much. Also, I love a good couch when I’m in heels.

Was looking for a spot at 3:45pm to host an employee happy hour on a Friday at 4:15pm. Place seemed to have a little room for the group and the bartender said no problem. I told him we’d be there in 30min, but when my team arrived, promptly informed the bar was closing at 5pm for a private party. I spoke with the owner who didn’t seem to care less. Had to quickly find a new spot for the team, and was super lucky to find the Brass Monkey down the block which couldn’t have worked out better.

Nice happy hour spot and go a little more interesting as the night progressed.

Another bar in Chelsea area. I like their environment/seating– it’s dark and romantic. But that was it. The DJ played really weird and old songs, and the drinks were expensive and taste no alcohol. They also place bottle of Jameson and other things on the table. Make sure you don’t touch them if you don’t want them– it’s like a dangerous mini bar charge in the hotel.

I met a friend in the city for lunch and she suggested we go to the Whitney first and then have lunch. It was very busy in that area that day and we could not get a table in the area so we began to walk further east. My friend looked at the menu at Gaslight and we went in and got a table. Actually, their tables consist of couches and small cocktail tables which serve as your table. I find eating like this a little awkward-there is nothing wrong with this; it is just a personal preference to be sitting at a table. Regardless, my friend ordered a pizza margherita and I got a sandwich made on foccaccio bread consisting of pesto chicken with red peppers. It was very tasty. My friend was also most pleased. I would recommend and return.

I really like the place they have good music and most of the time we have a really good time there. Me in my friends been there for few times already, and all the time we had a good time until this Saturday when the bartender decide to give me an attitude. Probably is time to check something else out. Recommended but try to not bother to much the blond bartender(don’t ask her for soda).

We popped in for the Friday happy hour after a conference at the Chelsea Market. 1st time in this place for the four of us. We let the host know we’re there for happy hour just drinks and he sat us down. The atmosphere was fine we sat in one of the lounge set ups. We were looking for a place for beers and the sandwich board on the sidewalk advertised decent beer prices for domestics and drink specials. The DJ is very noticeably bad. The music was way too loud and had us yelling at each other to carry a conversation and the music selection was just all over the place, all over a bad place in the 80s to be specific. We ordered about six beers betweens us before we were going to move on and the waitress brought us a bill for almost $ 90. I walked outside again to check the board to make sure we weren’t delusional the bill had $ 8 Coors Light and the other beers were over billed. CLASSIC bait and switch. When I asked our waitress about the overpriced beers her response, «oh happy hour prices were only for sitting at the bar, oh but I can change it.» Really? Different prices for sitting in different areas of the bar? Overall very nice lay out, but the music and the sketchy service means Id take a pass on coming here again.

Unbelievably STANK attitudes on a Friday at 5:00. Hostesses were very rude, just kind of looking at my friend instead of addressing her at all. Once seated, service was fine. Not much to say because we hardly interacted with our waitress. We ordered drinks and were not given place settings or glasses of water like everyone else. The happy hour specials were not good. In and out as fast as we could.

Great night life in a great neighborhood of the city. A little dark, but most bars are. It can be pricey but most places in Manhattan are at night time. It is a good time, not to young of a crowd and not too crazy. A good time if your looking to share drinks with girlfriends in NYC!

This star is one too many for food at this place. It was a beautiful sunday afternoon in the Meatpacking district and The Gaslight had outdoor seating. First, the service was very slow; i had to ask for water. We ordered the calamari and the ‘harvest’ salad(what could go wrong?). Its hard to describe the food that was set in front of us with the $ 10 Carona in a bottle. The calamari’s texture was all wrong and tasted freezerburned. The salad looked like it had been thrown on a plate by a child. A $ 15 salad should at least be TGIF or Chili’s quality(this, it was definitely not). I am appalled that this place has the audacity to serve people garbage! So upset.

In the meatpacking district it’s one of the larger bars in the area and has prime location on the corner of 14th st. Large front area with a long bar and the back room has tables and half the size bar. It’s very busy on weekends and drinks are costly. Bartender was friendly and attentive though. Mostly bottles of beer rather than tap. It’s a bar for convenience rather a place to go back to. As its pretty pricey.

I was here Saturday night for a friend’s birthday. I liked it, had a great time. Music was on point, playing some top 40 and remixes. They have comfortable couches that gives it a very lounge-y vibe, but then towards 11pm and on, it gets PACKED so it turns into more of a dance floor. The couches are waitress-service so we ordered drinks at the table rather than at the bar. I don’t know if it was our fault or the waitress’, but our drinks on our tabs got messed up and it was confusing to sort out who owed who what — we should have all opened our own tab rather than sharing tabs(could easily happen anywhere, though). Then to pay the tab, it took forever to find the waitress since she was busy, as it was very crowded. Overall, fun time. Loved the couches and music. Didn’t love the service on a Saturday busyyyyy night.

This is wonderful spot to check out. The price aren’t bad neither. I must say that customer service is outstanding. If you ever decide to head the meat packing district, do not hesitate to stop by. Recommendations: the sandwiches!!! Oh my god!

Ok granted the drinks are weak and expensive, but Gaslight Lounge does have a cool chill vibe and comfortable couches to people watch. I’ll probably come back here to grab a beer, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

It was a Saturday afternoon. My friend and I were avoiding the SantaCon craziness in midtown. So we headed to the West side to walk on the High Line. After a long, leisurely stroll on a cold day, we decided to head here to chill and enjoy a cocktail or two. There were a number of cozy couches and plenty of seating at the bar. We enjoyed one, two, three, I mean who is counting number of cocktails there. It was quite cozy hanging out on the couch and talking away for 3+ hours. There was a DJ up in the corner(easy to miss) spinning a bunch of great music. It was definitely the highlight of the afternoon that day. As we were leaving, it started to get more crowded. Definitely love to come back to this spot!

There’s really no benefit to coming here The door guys are rude There’s no drink specials (Regular drinks are on the more pricey side– closer to club level) Most of the bartenders have that primadonna look– like they are too good to talk to their customers And the place is more often a sausage best than a place to go meet girls(and for girls, I wouldn’t want you meeting the type of guys that go here– me excluded, haha) And it gives off too much off a sleazy vibe to bring a date

I’ve never been so compelled to write a review before based on a place’s DJ. Gaslight could be so much better. It’s in the meatpacking district where lots of tourists and locals go. It’s a nice bar/lounge. However, their DJ absolutely was horrible. I was not the only one in our group to think so, in fact they all did. Maybe it was an off night for him, but listening to that made me not want to dance and I love dancing. Please get someone better. Or, maybe the current resident DJ can head on over to The Delancey on a Thursday night for some ideas!

Stopped here after doing the air walk in the MeatPacking District. It was a nice warm afternoon and my crew wanted to grab a drink or two. We saw there was some patio seating going on here so that was definitely a plus. They had a couple of tequila infused drinks that were pretty good and since I was in the mood for some tequila flavor I definitely rolled with it. Our servers were really nice and conversational
