Whenever I’m in NYC, it’s always hard to find somewhere to go dancing. Tons of bars, lounges, and hookah places, but I get the impression this city has less of a clubby-scene. When I came to this part of town, I realized this is where it’s at! Kiss & Fly had awesome music with a guy playing drums that surprisingly went real well the electro-techno beats. Plenty of room to dance, strong drinks, and talented bartenders(they put on a show with their bottle tossing). One of the best nightlife experiences ever!

«No, No, No, No, No, No, No. I am not going back there.» «Oh, your friends from out of town really want to head there?» «I guess I don’t want to be a party pooper. But what about Marc and Jason? Marc’s wearing shorts and Jason has white sneakers on.» «What!!! Who keeps and extra pair of pants and shoes in their car?» «Well it’s past midnight, the line is long, we don’t have enough money to drop $ 300 each and no one here knows one of the promotors…» «God dammit Drew, SHUTUP. We all know a promoter or two. No one actually wanted to go inside.» «Ok, how much should it be? $ 50 each for the bottle and service. I’m skeptical but if you say so.» Some way or another I get dragged here. It’s similar to many other places around the meat packing. You know what you’re getting yourself into with many but there are extra things that make this one, one of my least favorite. Too many kids. They don’t even resemble 21. I got into places when I was under 21 but it was because I got lucky that night, had a good ID, I knew someone or got there early. Here there are kids all over. I’m not going to complain if some are in there because I’d be a hypocrite but it’s over the top here. I get it. You’re a club in Manhattan, you’re going to charge me something ludicrous for pouring cheap vodka in a small cup with sprite. I get it. But you’re going to charge a 25% tip as well? Guess what folks, bottle service makes sense sometimes… Sometimes. House music only. No hip hop. No top 40. Now I’m not a fan of either of the three from today’s day and age but at least mix it up. I can’t listen to just house all night long. Plus it gets the Jersey crowd to the table to my left and the 19 year olds to my right all excited. I wish they had something to forget all this, oh the guy in the bathroom does. I’m talking about the attendant who has some amazing gum. What did you think I was talking about? In the end, while many clubs will get two stars from me and there are some which can earn three or four, this one gets one. «Oh, so much is it again? $ 50?» «#&$@%#€&$@ you mean $ 150? Ugh»

This place is a waste of time. Expensive to get it, there is a mandatory coat check(which also costs money), and drinks are $ 17. Sure, the place ok(not amazing but it did look nice). But why pay all of that when you are in New York CIty and you can get the same experience in a billion other places? I know I won’t be wasting time there again. p. s. — I forgot to mention that I bought a drink at the bar and completely by accident forgot to tip. I went back to buy another drink and the bartender said«sorry you have to go to the other bartender, we don’t serve people who don’t tip». I was a little shocked, I apologized and tipped an extra dollar for the last drink, and then she was all smiles again…

I want to give you 1 star so badly. Stuck up obnoxious bouncers and cocky female promoters. Really — I definitely make more than you gals do in a week so please check yourself. Space is pretty small with a loungey feel and a lot of open space. We went on a Friday night and wasn’t packed. We had friends dance on top of couches and security didn’t really stop us. The reason why there was a bump between 1 star to 2 is because of the music. Your dj played some damn good music. It kept the ladies moving and that’s really what makes it a good night. Would I come back? Probably not — the air is too stuffy for my liking. ~happy dancing!

I’m not the biggest fan of the meatpacking scene in general. I’ve been to Kiss and Fly twice, including last night. If you’re with a promoter and a girl I could see you liking it, free drinks, no cover. The lay out isn’t that bad, although the tables take up most of the room where you would want to dance. I can’t even imagine how expensive a mixed drink is here(was at a table). The crowd was so-so on a Tuesday and I’ve experienced far better in Meatpacking.

Could I really be a New Yorker(gasp, I’m officially that), without hitting up some NYC clubs. I came here with some girlfriends to meet(others, naturally), a couple of months ago, I think. I personally had a lot of fun here. Free drinks, dancing and cute boys… yeah, I’m going to have fun. :) I’m not big into the club scene, when I was in my early twenties, I’d hit up all the hot spots, but now, I go(once in a while) to let loose. If I remember correctly, this was the place that I saw a girl so drunk that she was crawling on the dance floor. Awesome. Yeah, I don’t miss seeing that. Kiss and Fly is cool. Trendy, good music, good-looking people. Your typical NYC club scene. If you’re a guy– it’s gonna suck for you. You have to wait in this ridiculous line and you can’t go in without a group of girls. Sucks, but that’s just how it works. If you’re a girl– unless you have hookups, you’ll probably end up paying a $ 30 cover charge, which in my opinion, you should never pay! I mean, without the girls– there would be no boys, no club scene, period. To the club owners– be thankful for all the hoochie girls that show up wearing a tiny skirt and 5 inch heels in the freezing weather. They are ready to play… let them in for free, I say. :) After about a couple of hours, my feet hurt. I got enough, «unce unce unce,» in and I was ready to hail a cab home. Good times, Kiss and Fly.

I don’t care for Kiss & Fly — it seems like more of a has-been and isn’t the scene I’m looking for when I go to MPD. Last time I was there, a girl was wearing jeans, wedge flip flops, and a cutoff midriff shirt. During the winter. The space is good, with tables along the walls and a dancing area in the middle, kindof like a pit. If you’re not looking for the see-and-be-seen crowd, or just want a night of dancing with tourists, this is probably a good place for you.

Came here for a birthday party and honestly, I had fun. Sure, you can rant and rant about the negative aspects of clubs, but I’ve found these negatives to be consistent across every one I’ve ever been to. Rude/pretentious lady’s taking cover fees, mandatory $ 5 coat check, gratuity included $ 18 standard drinks. you will encounter mostly everywhere in NYC. BUT, the positives — they didn’t overcrowd the place, music was decent(top 40’s, hip hop), good ratio. I’d go back to Kiss and Fly, it was a solid 3.5 star experience.

This place is a joke. Oh, I’m sorry is this a bad episode of Bad Girls Club/Basketball Wives/Love & Hip-Hop? Run. Pretentious, Jersey/Gaudy/Rachetness(so overused, but this place is the very definition). I should have known better when the door girl goes«is Tahiry from Love & Hip-Hop the celebrity tonight?»

Went for a friend’s birthday. Hada pay $ 30 cover and about $ 18 a drink cause of their included gratuity! Wtf?! I understand you’re going to have to pay covers for a club and drinks are expensive. But

DON’T COMEHEREIF: 1) You generally hate meatpacking type of crowds. 2) You are a dude trying to avoid $ 30 just to get through the door. 3) You are someone not looking to spend $$$ for some alcohol in a cup. 4) This thing called«Dancing» fuddles you. DOCOMEHEREIFTHEABOVEDOESNOTAPPLYTOYOU. I’m apathetic to the meatpacking crowd, so I decided to come here on a Thursday with some friends. I did not pay $ 30 for cover, and even if it were $ 5 I probably won’t even pay for it because I am cheap like that. I had a wonderful time dancing to music, and the DJ was open to my song suggestions. There’s a slightly raised stage that you can dance on. Yes, I made use of it.
