Although this spot is in our neighborhood, we don’t often go here. We decided to stop by on a nice evening since it offers«outdoor seating». I quickly remembered why we don’t come here. The outdoor seating offers a gross«view» of 3rd avenue, including street construction, accompanied by the smell of garbage and pee. We quickly switched to the indoor table. The service was actually pretty great! The host was really nice, and our server was awesome. He had a fun cool personality, and was super attentive. However, the food is mediocre. The fried calamari was rubbery(didn’t finish it) and my salad was just ok. My husband felt the same way. I would recommend this spot for drinks since the bar is super cute though.

Good lunch place for friends/small groups. Not packed during lunch time. Got the salmon and kale salad and liked it. Has tomatoes and lime juice in it. Small but filling salad. Friend got the lunch special, which included vegetable soup, seared fish, and green tea ice cream. Only thing that bothered me was the insane noise outside. Makes it difficult to converse, even if you sit inside. But no matter where you sit, it’s ideal for people watching. Overall, solid spot for a casual lunch.

Its no shocker to me that this place only has 3 stars. I actually think 3 stars is quite generous for what I had just experienced. Anyone who reads my reviews know that I rarely give a one star. You can have a fly land on my food but if its once in a blue moon and your food is delicious then ill let it pass. Food wise everything was mediocre to say the least. Ambiance, it was empty except for the bar and now I understand for what reason. Service wise. From a rate of 1 – 100 I’d give them a 0. My date and I had joined the party late so our party had already ordered their food. Apparently they had a water bottle with vodka on the table in which they didn’t even touch, it was just sitting there. The«manager» comes to our table and without even saying a word or giving courtesy just grabs our friends water bottle off the table and smells it then throws it away. Then takes away all of everyone’s drinks off the table whether it may or may not have had alcohol in it. My issue with this is the following: whether my friends were right or wrong, you DONOT just go into someone table and just grab something off. That is terrible customer service. After we paid the bills half my friends went outside and I was still sitting at the table waiting for my date to come back from the restroom. The manager had the nerve to come to our table and say to me «You guys are so lucky we didn’t call the cops on you.» among many other condescending comments. This place was so despiciable because of that woman. I kept asking her why are you still talking to us. Its amazing we already had paid the bill tipped 18% I don’t understand what else she wants. She just kept going on and on. As if their service wasn’t bad enough, she was screaming at us as if she was trying to win a prize of just how crappy their«customer service» can get. Not to mention after the incident the entire time of our meal there they just stared us down and made comments and pointing and talking about our table to other costumers. The waitress Megan was nice before the incident but then was rude also telling us to leave when clearly we weren’t even causing trouble, it was HER manager making a scene. I pity the waitress since I get it, she was just doing her job but genuinely feel bad for her since she has to deal with that poor excuse for a human being. I ironically was so upset at the place that I really didn’t want to be there any longer so I walked out as the manager kept rambling and I accidently left my purse inside. The busboy Johnny ran after us outside and gave me back my purse. He also apologized for how his coworker and manager acted. I’m actually quite impressed that this busboy knows how to give better service than his superiors. Would I recommend this place to anybody: Sure if I wanted to punish someone.

Lovely service, tasty and strong cocktails, good food at the bar. We arrived at 9pm and our server was wonderful and attentive. Their cocktail selection was cute, not too complicated or extravagant but a good selection of sweet twists on classic. As for the beer selection, nothing special and could be better. Very happy with the appetizers. Fun experience overall.

Absolutely fell in love with this place and the warm welcoming ambiance. We stumbled upon this restaurant/bar while walking back to our hotel and the bartender was so kind and made us feel so welcome. The sangria(red) is wonderful and the atmosphere is low key and laid back which made for an enjoyable and relaxing experience after walking all over the city earlier in the day. We will definitely be back! Thanks for the great evening!

The menu was much better than expected and the food was too! The value for money seemed pretty good, it was a little loud in there but a good atmosphere. Service was ok but not great. I would definitely go for a fun lunch with friends or a casual dinner. You won’t be disappointed with the food. I wouldn’t hesitate to order take out as the food is the selling point for this restaurant.

I went once for lunch. There were two of us and we were early. The place was still packed. The doors and windows were open. I’m usually not one to enjoy the outdoors while I’m eating. The meal was either good, or I was just hungry! The two of us enjoyed our lunch. We did not have room for dessert. They had some appealing deserts on the menu at that time. I always intended to return but never did. I think the packed tables that are in close proximity to each other discourages me! My main memory of my dining experience was being uncomfortably close to other diners and the wait staff. I wasn’t there long enough to figure out if the Cinema theme was a tourist attraction. It did have a certain appeal for a movie buff like me! It was a fun experience. It hasn’t been reviewed very much on Unilocal at any of the NYC Cinema Café locations. I’m not sure if I should give it a second try. I’ve got too many Bookmarks as it is!

After my hairstylist had been raving about this place, I decided to order takeout and see what the hype was about. This place did not disappoint. I walked in and ordered, and 15 minutes later I had the most perfectly cooked salmon in front of me. The salmon was absolutely delicious. It had the perfect amount of crust on the outside, and was cooked perfectly on the inside. The salmon came with rice and veggies, and that was a great addition to the meal. They have a good amount of options on the menu that I look forward to trying. The only con for me is that the place is really small, but I guess that’s most gems in NYC.

We had the pizza as an app(sausage) and it was delicious. I had the fish which was cooked perfectly and my husband had a burger which was slightly overcooked but had excellent flavor. The woman who served us(seemed like it could have been the owner) was so friendly and accommodating, I almost forgot I was in NYC! I would definitely go back if I was back in that neighborhood.

Went here after, appropriately, a trip to the cinema. My gut instinct told me this place would be a flop and boy was I right. The waitstaff seemed more intent in huddling in a corner talking to each other rather than actually serving customers. There were actually four of them and no one else to serve when we arrived yet they still needed prompting from me to come over. When we finally got our meal we were served appetizer and entrée TOGETHER. I mean are you serious? I can’t comment on my friend’s salmon but my chicken pot pie seemed okay initially and then I was met by lumps of grissle and bone and pieces of chicken that stayed in my mouth longer than a piece of gum! Add to this the fact that the only light at the table was a tiny flickering tealight candle so I really couldn’t see what I was eating. Would I come back… oh hell NO!

Only if you are desperate. Service is incredibly poor. I mean like wait 12 minutes to have a waiter acknowledge you after seating yourselves. Did they think we were just sitting there to look at the beauty of the 34th street and 3rd avenue corner? When we eventually ordered, and our food came, it was actually pretty good. Clearly the Chef is the only person in the establishment that works. Maybe they should convert this place into a to-go only establishment and just dump the sorry excuse for front of the house staff. Great for Seamless, terrible for anything else.

I like the atmosphere of the place. It’s very casual and there’s plenty of outdoor and indoor seating — great people watching. The menu has a lot to choose from and I like the range of appetizers. Last time I went I had the grilled organic chicken sandwich and it was really good. Today I had the grilled hanger steak sandwich and really enjoyed it. Their fries are really good too. My friend had the shrimp sandwich and really enjoyed it. The only complaint I have is the service can be pretty slow so it’s not the best place if you’re in a rush.

There should never be an excuse for poor service or in my groups case not having a server. Arrived at Cinema for a few Cinco de Mayo drinks and wanted to sit outside to enjoy the amazingly great weather. I walked in and asked the bartender if we were to seat ourselves since there were no hosts present. Bartender said we could sit where ever. We sat and chatted and as well discussed some environmental anomalies happening around us with a near by table. Very entertaining after all it’s New York and the city wants its money lol. Anyway this place was not busy compared to the surrounding bars which should have been a red flag. We eventually received tap water after waiting 15 mins but the guy never returned. We eventually were able to flag a waiter who brought over 1 menu for a table of 3 people so we got up and walked over to another bar & had a blast. The table who we engaged in conversation also admitted to having poor service as well as a father & his young son sitting next to us. I would definitely not comeback because in my eyes you had the opportunity to make new customers and you blew it. Again it wasn’t that busy for this to have happened.

Crappy service with shitty food quality. Came here for brunch with my gf and had the most tasteless meal. I ordered the country breakfast and my potatoes had no flavor or salt. Tasted very bland. Sausage was undercooked. Eggs were probably the only decent thing on my plate and if I just wanted eggs I could have saved a trip and money and just made some at home. Thanks cinema for helping me realize no matter how old I get I’ll always make mistakes and you cinema my friend are a mistake.

Bar/restaurant at the corner 3rdAve/34th St. We didn’t eat there and were asked to seat in the bar. We asked to get places on a table and it was no problem. Everyone was really friendly and we were asked if we want to order additional drinks and they were served quickly. Would go there again also to try the restaurant qualities.

The highlight of the meal was definitely the Belgian fries with awesome dipping sauces! They had us wishing we had ordered another helping, but maybe it’s better that we didn’t ;) Cauliflower pizza was better than expected. Fish taco appetizer came with three sizeable tacos, not bad for the price! Truffle risotto croquettes sounded amazing but didn’t quite live up to the hype. Wine bottle prices are fairly reasonable — good options for about $ 35 – 40. Ambience and scene are about as good as you can expect on this stretch of 34th Street in Murray Hill, surrounded by dive bars.

I just had a wonderful dinner with two of my teammates here. We went to two other restaurants before coming here but I have a feeling that we might be coming here more often. The food wasn’t out-of-this-world exceptional, but the portions are sizeable(for NYC), the waiters are friendly and just the right amount of attentive, and the food tasted amazing enough that all three of our plates were cleaned of food. I got the ribeye and while it wasn’t medium rare(more like medium) like I asked for, I liked that it was a leaner cut and that it appeared to be cooked in butter(like good steak should be!!!) instead of canola oil. I did not like how my food was drenched in grease(including the beans and sautéed veggies), but overall it didn’t taste too heavy. A bit more sea salt or perhaps garlic might have added to the ribeye though. The menu had many free range chicken and grassfed/grain finished beef options as well. Nice. We will be back! Ps. The waiter was nice enough to charge my iPhone, and let us sit there to discuss team plans for close to 2 hours without bothering us(granted they had other open tables).

We came here for brunch with a group of 8 and all decided it was just okay. Most of us got the breakfast burrito, but a bunch of other items as well. They were all pretty decent. One downfall is that the restaurant was weirdly hot that day, which when you are hungover, certainly doesn’t help. Finally, we got the grits and they were the weirdest thing I have ever seen. Green and clumpy. Utterly baffled.
