Cask is a neighborhood gem. Great beer selection, and one of the few bars with cask beer. The cocktails a pretty good, and everything I have had in the way of food has been quality as well. Good ambiance, although it can get pretty packed, seemingly every night. The staff is good though, and very attentive.

We were told there would be a 45 minute wait, but it ended up only being 15 minutes or so. Had a great meal and shared 4 things with a friend– we left totally full. The siracha nachos were my favorite part! Great service, friendly staff, good food. Will definitely be back.

Cask seemed like a very nice place to get a drink and dinner. I wasn’t very hungry, so skipped the appetizers, and had the chicken pot pie. Although served in the same kind of mug I drink coffee in, it was a pretty damn good chicken pot pie; certainly appropriate for the recent blizzard and thaw we’ve been going through in the last few days. Guinness paired perfectly. Everything was on point. Service was great, and I can certainly see myself returning when in the neighborhood.

Amazing atmosphere and great food. The waiter was very attentive and helpful. Had the lamb nachos as well as the mac & cheese. Both were delicious. Definitely will come back. Went for happy hour and dinner on Friday and was very pleased with the restaurant.

This is one of my favorite spots in the Murray Hill area. If you are in a group, the cheese plate is always a good starter although they need about 700% more jam. The food is decent, although I always get a salad when I come here so I need to branch out. Check out the happy hour– 4pm to 8pm Monday through Friday which boasts $ 5 cocktails and $ 6 wine. It’s a pretty good deal for NYC!

I went to Cask last weekend for dinner and they accommodated our party of 11 flawlessly. The interior of the space is rustic and intimate and the service was especially friendly and efficient. We were celebrating my friend’s bachelorette weekend in the city and it was my job to find a great restaurant that everyone would enjoy. There were a lot of picky eaters in the group but every single girl raved about how delicious her food was! The added bonus was that the food is SO well priced for the city without compromising quality or quantity of the food. I opted for the angel hair carbonara with a poached egg on top and I left NOTHING on the plate. The simple yet diverse menu makes it possible for everyone to find something they’ll like. I recommend this spot if you’re planning a dinner with a big group because the communication with the restaurant makes your life so much easier. I e-mailed them a few times to make the reservation and then again to confirm a few days before(I also had to add another girl at the last minute) and they responded right away every time. I definitely plan to return to Cask with my fiancé because the atmosphere was great for a romantic date night with delicious food and drink. Might even check out brunch!

Cask is my secret first-date go-to. It’s has a great ambience, reclaimed wood, darker lighting, and great trendy alternative music playing. It’s great to start at the bar and if things are going well shift to a table for dinner or appetizers. It can be mobbed after work, so the earlier you can get there the better. There is an upstairs and downstairs bar though. Cask offers delicious cocktails, I am particular to their Grapefruit Mojito, the flavors are great together. All the food I’ve had there is good, lots of small plates and appetizers for sharing. Their Fish and Chips is one of the best I’ve had in the city and the Mac and Cheese is an experience.

Solid beer list and friendly staff. We came for a table around 6:00 pm and it was too crowded so we just grabbed a drink. They had a good beer selection(only about 10 taps) but it was a good variety and the bartender lets you try a few before you commit. I have a brown ale that was good.

Mmm brunch! I wasn’t that hungry, but when invited to Rome… …you order the grilled avocado with citrus lime mayo and roasted corn salsa. It’s half an avocado for $ 9. I probably won’t order this again, but honestly this was the best grilled avocado I’ve ever had. My sister had the hangover sandwich that looked amazing. Coffee here was great, and service was too. I’m a fan.

A friend found this place through Unilocal. She called in advance to ask how long the wait was, we were told roughly about an hour and a half. We came there about twenty min later and were seated about twenty min after. The bartenders are really nice and honest. I inquired about a particular drink and he told me right away«it’s not as good as you think, try this instead» which I appreciated. The décor is appropriate and nice, feels cozy for a busy place. The food was yummy! Truffle Mac and cheese was a hit as an appetizer at the table. I ordered the pasta carbonara with poached egg and really enjoyed it! Looking forward to returning here again in the near future.

I initially thought this place was a little bougie and I only came to accommodate the location for my date, but I was really pleasantly surprised with the food! They start you off this a warm, crusty loaf of honey/oat type bread, which was delicious. My date and I split the brussel sprouts con chorizo(surprisingly delicious and really hit the spot) and the chicken pot pie. The pot pie was truly just a big mug of goo with peas(less corn starch, people), but a bunch of salt and pepper saved the day. A LOT. Perfect for the rainy monstrosity that we escaped from. Apple Blossom for dessert — gooey galette-type of situation with ice cream. I’m not even a dessert type of girl, but this was not to be missed. Notable: Extra seating downstairs. Good date spot(dark, cozy and warm). Good happy hour(including bottles of wine) until 8pm. I think I’ll be back if ever in the area. Not notable: The dipping oil tasted like Walnut or Grapeseed or something. Extra Virgin or anything heavier/earthier would be better here. Also, the service was all sorts of aloof, with the waiter recommending the 4 most expensive dishes as «his absolute favorites.» :eye roll:

I’m a fan for brunch! Their menu was extensive enough without being too overwhelming and we were seated right away. Entrees: The Hangover Sandwich, Classic Eggs Benedict, and Vanilla French Toast. Drinks: The Chihuahua and The Bacon Infused Bloody Mary I recommend: The Hangover Sandwich and The Bacon Bloody Mary. The Hangover Sandwich was recommended by the server as being one of the top choices(next to chicken & waffles). It was such a great combination of flavors but was definitely a salty meal. I recommend getting a side of chipotle mayo for the fries, which are crispy and delicious. The fried egg could have been a little less well done in my opinion. The Vanilla French toast had a crispy outside and a soft inside, it’s a great sweet option. The Classic Eggs Benedict was basic but reliable. However, I’d recommend going for another less common option like the Hangover Sandwich. If you like your breakfast potatoes extra crispy, make sure to ask for that otherwise you might think their under done. The Cihuahua was refreshing and light. However, both of my friends ordered the Bloody Mary after! As for the atmosphere, they had a good buzz going on. The bar was full and the dining area had most tables occupied at all times. Great place to catch up with a small group of friends or a date since it’s not too quiet either.

I seriously wanted to try everything on their menu but I had to control myself. The truffle mac & cheese was bomb. The brussel sprouts with chorizo & manchego was also good and I chose that for my healthy appetizer of the night, & really enjoyed the philly cheese steak rolls. I was extremely excited about the pasta carbonara but the egg on top wasn’t runny! But everything else about the dish was solid.

So when walking in I must say I was getting a good vibe long beautiful wood bar walk up a couple steps and have some beautiful tables in the back it was some what a little bit more quiet until more people came. That’s what we wanted, dinner with some night life. As soon as were seated the waiter stated our refrigeration is down and our beer is off tonight. What? A place named CASK who is suppose to have their own beer doesn’t have beer! This is gonna suck! Okay water it is then. We perused the menu. So ready for this. A place who boasts itself as a seafood restaurant has more meat dishes then seafood. And has a totally different menu on their website. Strike two. Whatever so glad we are meat eaters or we would be screwed! Okay we found what we were going to eat and ordered. First was the grain salad this was so amazing the texture of grains goji berries, nuts, fruit and tanginess of the dressing was amazing Next we ordered the mushroom flat bread and a arugula salad the alas was amazing the flat bread eh not so much I almost think the mushrooms were canned? For our entrees I ordered the short rib this was okay it was very very fatty. I don’t think it was cooked enough. The Brussels were delicious. My bf had the salmon. It looked delicious but when cutting it open it was completely raw not like somewhat cooked which is acceptable, it was slimy cold in the middle. Completely unacceptable. Strike three! Although the waiter was very sweet and took care of it, it still should have been cooked properly. The sides to his dish were perfect cooked and prepared! They gave us our dessert on the house it was a chocolate chip bread pudding which was decadent but by this point we had enough. The staff was very nice and helpful but unfortunately our night was ruined by all the missteps from the beginning. End of rant! Lol

This place is laid back, like a cool place you would want to make into your hangout spot with your friends. Came here for brunch and had a wonderful time. The service was also great; our waiter was attentive, funny, and helpful. Perfect for a Saturday brunch experience after long week you know? that cheerfulness and those jokes were much appreciated pretty good value. $ 13 for the hangover sandwich: egg, avocado, bacon, Gruyère, chipotle mayo — and side of crispy fries. Was very full and satisfied :) I would definitely come back for brunch if I was in neighborhood. Or come back and try happy hour/dinner

Great spot in Murray Hill for drinks, dinner, or both. I loved the atmosphere here-the restaurant is relatively small, but they have a small bar and a few more tables downstairs as well. The exposed beams on the ceiling, the mason jars that serve as decorations, and the wooden tables and chairs contribute to the upscale yet rustic vibe. This is the perfect spot to come for a date or to catch up with friends. Even when every table was taken and most of the bar was filled up on a Monday night, I was able to hear my friend and enjoy a nice conversation without yelling over the crowd. Though I didn’t think anything on the menu was particularly enticing, the bruschetta flatbread was delicious! My date and I lingered for quite some time at the bar, and the bartender didn’t seem to mind and was attentive when we needed her.

A cute, romantic spot great for happy hour, catching up with friends, or a date. This place is deceptively large! It’s easy to miss from the outside; I was looking for it and still walked right on past. There’s an upstairs and downstairs bar, so when the main floor fills up(and it definitely did when I was there for happy hour on a Friday), you can migrate south! Happy hour includes $ 5 draught beers, $ 6 Pinot Grigio and Pinot Noir, and $ 7 cocktails. The Pinot Grigio was meh, but their cocktails were great! Their jalapeño margarita is a MUST-TRY! And this is coming from someone who doesn’t like spicy foods! It was delicious! I didn’t try the food, but the couple next to me ordered the hanger steak, which smelled divine! This place is adorable and chic, and I’ll definitely be back!

I’m just sad I didn’t try this place sooner when I live right around the corner. This is such a quaint place with a lot of atmosphere. Low key and trendy, this is the perfect dinner date spot or good for a small group. The service was very attentive, always refilling our water before it ran out, cleaning our table between courses, and the food came out quickly. The food is great. I started with the tuna and salmon tartare which was great, came with avocado and siracha sauce. For my entrée I had the hanger steak. My steak was cooked exactly medium as I ordered. I will be back here for sure.

Just had dinner here with some friends tonight. We first started off with a warm crusty bread on the table, dipping pieces into a dish of olive oil seasoned in spices. Not a bad start. On to the food. Bf and I had the goat cheese & beet salad, truffled mac and cheese, and 3-cheese lasagna, which came with a side salad as well. The goat cheese salad was fine, but the lasagna was heavy and full of thick layers of cheese. I picked out the veggies, which were tasty. Didn’t taste any truffles in the mac and cheese, plus it was quite watery like some have mentioned before(should have listened to the reviews!) Some shared a bottle of wine; I only had a few sips of the bf’s so don’t have much to comment on that. It was ok. The staff was mostly pretty attentive, often coming by to refill water glasses. However what I found odd was that more than one server/runner seemed to be lazy with the pepper grinder. After serving the table, they would offer someone pepper, then if they say no, they’ll retreat and walk away from the table. They did not bother to ask anyone else at the table once someone declined, which I found weird, especially since two different people had done this(once when the apps were served, then the entrees). I wanted to like this place: nice décor, warm atmosphere, seemingly appetizing menu. It’s ok, but I probably wouldn’t come back.
