I really enjoyed the experience and quality of food. However, the«bread basket» was actually chewy tough bagels. My husband Could not believe that outback’s bread was indeed better. I have dine on the same quality of steak & service at Maxie& Angelo’s, in a cruise & my husband says«outbback» for the same price… I may go back in another decade. Our tab came to 180.00 for two, including appetizer & dessert. Bottom line: price is really not worth the experience.

Just recently heard that this place is closed :( I LOVEEEED this restaurant. I’ve been here a few times already and their food is pricey but worth every dollar. They have a HUGE selection for steaks and different cuts of meat. They also let you go downstairs to see their aged steaks. Sucks that they’re closed. hopefully they’ll reopen soon !

Yes, this is closed now but I was there the week before they shut their doors. Here for a birthday gathering of a party of ten. Eight of us got steak while a couple ordered the seafood tower. I sat next to them so I got to have some. My friend cannot stop talking about the 65 day aged rib eye so he convinced most to get it. I ordered the 22oz. filet instead lol. I didn’t regret it. That thing was huge but very tender and juicy. I had a slice of the 65, it was pretty good. But since everyone else got that, I wanted to be different, haha. We had a few side orders; they were gone but no one could finish their steak. We only got dessert for the birthday girl, no one else could eat another bite. I hope the owner opens up his new steakhouse soon.

Came here for Restaurant Week dinner with a few friends. It’s a big place with tons of seating and old style giant booths. Our waiter was super nice, and the food was superb. Started out with the pork belly. I have to quote my compatriot on this one; he said, «I wish I could eat this for the rest of my life.» Sure, it was a little fatty, but oh so rich. Crispy pork skin too. Quite delectable with the peaches and greens. For entrees, our three choices were the snapper, hanger steak or a NY strip. Our waiter recommended the strip(which is half the size of the one on the normal menu). Three out of the four of us ordered the strip and the last friend got the hanger. But when it came time for our entrees, the server messed up our places. Gave my friend who ordered the hanger steak a NY strip(easy fix), but also screwed up the NY strip orders. I ordered mine medium rare, and my buddy wanted his rare. Our orders were swapped, and due to the strip being 7oz for RW, we didn’t notice until we were both halfway done. We did swap the last half, and the medium rare one(that I had ordered) was so much better. Sad Kenny. I can understand the confusion though, as there were tons of food service carts all over the place and RW must be tough on the servers. Dessert was okay, but nothing to write home about. We also ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir from the RW menu. It was super reasonably priced at $ 35, and was surprisingly good.

So I dined there recently, and it was thee best restaurant experience I have had in a long time. Everything about the place was warm and inviting. Very upscale, so my date and I were dressed accordingly. The wait staff were very accommodating and patient. We were received warmly by the hosts, and they were courteous enough to ask us our seating preference. FOOD: My date and I both ordered the crab cake for our appetizers, and I must say, it was the best crab cake I have ever had. Unlike most restaurants who hold their crab cakes together using far to much flour, it seemed like ours was held together by more crab, and veggies. Our main courses consisted of the Scottish Salmon(medium well) with a side of spinach. Desert was the perfect ending to the perfect meal. The drinks(Riesling, & Margarita) were both well made… NOt to little of this, and not to much of that… Just right! All-in-all, I’m quite content with my experience. I recommend dining there to anyone needing a quality meal! Bön appetit. :)

I absolutely LOVED the salted bagel type of bread they had here! YUMMM. So, they give you some white bean soup in a tiny shot cup(it was ok). I had the baguette French dip which was similar to an average sandwich, really. My boo had the burger which was ginormous. I loved how thick the CHEESE was since I LOVE cheese! Besides that, the sweet potato fries were too huge and lacking in flavor. As for dessert-the chocolate cake had a warm filling with coffee ice cream and a couple of chocolates. Nothing really stood out besides the bread, however. When you get anything boxed up, they give you a ticket to pick up your doggy bag on the way out.

Yes. Yeeeeeeeeesssss. My friend and I tried to get here during Restaurant Week, but never managed it. So we went last night to sample their regular menu. The restaurant wasn’t very busy when we arrived at 6. We were warmly greeted, coats checked, and seated within seconds of arriving. Our waiter was very pleasant, even getting my friend a tissue in a *silver* tissue box holder(we were impressed LOL). As for the food, we had the tableside-made caesar salad and a regular farmer’s market greens salad, both were excellent. I had the petit filet mignon on the bone, and my friend had a larger cut(can’t remember which one). The steaks came nice and hot, and were both covered in a pastrami-like coating of peppercorns. It added wonderful flavor to the steak. I’d never had a filet mignon on the bone, and it was tender and delicious. For sides we shared a baked potato and grilled asparagus, which was nicely done. We each had a glass of wine with dinner, and then shared the bananas foster sundae. I can honestly say that I was full — but not overly so — and the food was paced nicely. I can’t afford to eat like this every day, but man… what was that? Specials at the bar during the week? Hmmm…

I came here for a Restaurant Week dinner with a friend and was very happy with the 7 oz. double cut sirloin I ordered. They offered to butterfly it for me so it would cook more evenly. My friend was also happy with his steak. Our desserts(carrot cake and chocolate cake) were good. The apps left something to be desired. I ordered the roasted beet & fennel salad, but the beets were pretty bland instead of offering their usual sweetness. My friend’s double cut bacon was probably the biggest disappointment. Perhaps we’ve been spoiled by the bacon at Luger’s and Wolfgang’s.

Came here for restaurant week lunch. I opted out of the RW menu since it didn’t seem like such a good value. I’m not a big fan of salad or dessert. My hot lunch date did order the RW special which consisted of a double bacon salad, french dip sandwich and molten lava choc cake with ice cream. They do make a fine burger, but I can’t say I’m a fan of the steak fries. The fries were really dark and orange like they were sweet potatoes, but alas, they were just fries that didn’t seem to be fried properly. They were probably the most massive steak fries I’ve ever seen(not a good thing). The fries seemed to be too big and not cooked long enough because they weren’t crispy at all. This is not a case where bigger is better. They’re the size of a big fat highlighter. If I had an option between the normal fries and these monstrosities, I would opt for the smaller fries. This was the first time I didn’t eat my fries. I was pretty disappointed. I don’t think they could have gotten the same effect if they dropped a whole potato in oil. My date’s bacon salad was pretty awesome, I enjoyed the blue cheese and greens(endive?) on top of the 2 bacon strips. The french dip sandwich was also good, and she had some normal french fries which were way better than mine. Molten lava choc cake was alright, nothing special.

Décor: 4⁄5 –much bigger than it appears from the lobby –dim lighting for a more classy and romantic ambiance –Aging room downstairs, a meat lover’s wet dream Service: 2⁄5 –slow service initially but picked up after –host said it would take five mins to set up out table for 8 but it took longer –we received the drink menu first before getting Food: 3⁄5 –bacon was crispy and cooked perfectly –clam chowder was so so, a bit watered down with little to no flavor –sirloin was cooked medium rare which made it tender, flavorful and not too chewy –short ribs were salty and dry, over cooked –carrot cake was overhyped. Best carrot cake I’ve had was from buttercup cake shop –chocolate cake was exactly like dominos lava cake. Way too rich and nothing close to unique.

So i went here for the 2nd time for RW. The 1st time, i went here with a friend a few years back, and I remember being impressed with the food. Again, I was impressed with the food yet again. RW is always a hit or miss, but this place is 2⁄2 so that’s huge in my book… just like Kobe Club(may that restaurant RIP). The bar area can get crowded since this restaurant is located in the murray hill section. It’s across the street from Hill Stone and walking distance to Park Les Halles and Gansevoort. It’s also in a prime area for workers to come by for a power lunch, power dinner, or happy hour. My friend and I were seated right away. They asked us if we wanted to check our coats, but it wasn’t needed since there was a lot of space at our table near the wall, so we could put our bags there and our coats on our chairs. Anyway, we both ordered from the RW menu. My friend ordered the Roasted Beet & Fennel Salad, 7oz double cut sirloin(med. well i believe). They even offered to cut the steak in half to make sure it cooks through. For dessert, she had the carrot cake. I, myself, ordered the grilled double cut bacon, 7 oz. double cut sirloin(med. rare), and the warm chocolate cake. Oh they also had a RW special for wine, so we ordered the red wine for $ 35. What’s hilarious is my friend and i got CARDED!!! We both looked at each other in disbelief. I mean who cards people at a fancy restaurant like Primehouse, and who cards because of wine? I thought it was cute tho; i was flattered since the waitress must have thought i looked very young. Anyway, the wine was very young, It was okay, but i def think it could have used another few more years to age. The double cut bacon was a wash. It wasn’t that good. It was thinner than what i expected and it was pretty dry. It def pales in comparison to Ben & Jacks and Peter Luger’s bacon. The blue cheese was a bit too overpowering as well and the frisee, i wish it was chopped up a bit more. It was way too course so it was harder to eat. I tried my friend’s beet and fennel salad and i thought that was def a better dish than the bacon. The 7 oz double cut sirloin was the PERFECT size for a woman… okay for a guy too who isn’t eating too much. My steak was cooked perfectly and evenly. The steak was seasoned really well too so you didn’t need the steak sauce that came on the plate. The steak also came with a mushroom potato croquette that was okay, but im not a big fan of croquettes anyway. I would have preferred some mashed potatoes or some sauteed mushrooms. The warm chocolate cake was rich but not too heavy. I was expecting it to be gooey like a chocolate lava cake, but it was jsutt thick like fudge. The cappuccino ice cream helped cut the richness of the cake. Overall, the service here was fine, and the ambiance of the restaurant is nice. It’s clean, modern, and somewhat upscale, but not too trendy. The food is top notch, even for a RW menu. I def wouldn’t mind coming back on a normal night to their other menu offerings.

If you want a steak and potatoes kind of meal, then this is the place for you. I’ve been to a few different steakhouses and honestly, I’m not someone that needs a lot of froufrouness around my steak. I just want a good quality cut of meat and a few delicious sides. Primehouse has an awesome in bone filet mignon and their green beans, mushrooms and fries are DELISH. Service here is friendly and fast. They aren’t all about business which means that you can have a nice convo with your waiter if you want. The atmosphere is a little fancy(most steakhouses are) so I would definitely consider this place as more of a formal(let me impress my date) kind of place. However, they do have a more casual bar area in the front that has a tv. Every now and then in the dining room you can hear loud cheers in the bar area because they play football games in there. My only beef(haha) with the restaurant was the music. It was weird 80’s power music. Why? You could have played me some light jazz or even some 50’s ballads, but power 80’s? I totally understand why that would be playing if I was in a dive bar, but not really while I’m eating a steak. Anyway, I’ll definitely be a return visitor. Nomnomnom!

This is my go-to to book for business luches. They can usually fit in a last minute reservation and their food never ceases to impress clients or guests. I love their seasonaly foods like the butternut squash soup in the autumn. Great steaks, great deasar salad, great food in general. Service has always been pretty spot on and the atmosphere is classic and clean without the stuffiness. I also like the bar area for after work cocktails.

The Maytag Bacon & Bleu Cheese Burger. Charbroiled, Hand Cut Slab Bacon, Maytag Blue, Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion, Steak Fries. $ 15. Everything is right. A delicious, juicy medium rare. The bacon is thick and crispy, as are the steak fries. The tomato a beautiful, deep red. The cheese melts slowly, and oozes ever so slightly. I love this burger. And I love Primehouse for letting me in wearing a t-shirt, despite their obviously classy establishment. And I love my friends for agreeing to be seen with me in public. And I love you, for your undying admiration* of me. When you eat this burger, there is love in the air. __________ *That’s what I’m assuming that look on your face is. Although, it looks suspiciously like disgust, now that I’m thinking about it.

I came here for lunch during restaurant week since steakhouses have the best value for restaurant week. The food was much better than I expected and I was certainly surprised by the creativity involved in each dish(minus the appetizer). Food Watermelon gazpacho — didn’t really taste like watermelon so I was a little disappointed with this one Sirloin(pre-cut) — pretty good. nice and juicy. Key-lime pie — I was expecting a boring triangular pie slice but this was beautifully presented as a rectangular key-lime tart. Deliciousness.

Made reservations for dinner, but its wasn’t necessary since the place was half empty. The ambiance was mature and classy. The tables and chairs were comfortable and well spaced and the service was outstanding. Our server was very attentive! My boyfriend got the hanger steak with mac n cheese while I got the filet mignon with truffle asiago fries. His steak with the chimichurri sauce was amazing; very well seasoned and cooked, pratically melts in you mouth. The mac n cheese was the best part though, probably the best I’ve ever had. It was wasn’t overly cheesy, but the cheese was very potent and flavorful. My filet mignon was good, but I didn’t like how the edge tasted burnt and dry. Center was fine, edge was not. The truffle asiago fries were delicious!!! Very chunky, yet crispy at the same time and they were very generous with the shredded asiago cheese. And avoid buying their flat water, which I accidentally did and it ended up costing more than my boyfriend’s beer!

A modern man’s steakhouse. That’s how I’d sum this place up. Very classy. Not stuffy. I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while, and the other night I had an opportunity to sit in the comfortable leather bucket seats at the bar and enjoy. The chalkboard was featuring various bourbons that night, but I just wanted my hangar steak and glass of cabernet. This place took all my afternoon stresses away, better than 2 ibuprofen ever could. Relaxing dark chrome and black interior, which is just really easy on the eyes. Understated 80’s rock on the radio, and I was half way there before ordering. My bartender was friendly, and very attentive. The entire staff seemed to work very well as a team, and that’s always a plus. The meal started with fresh and tasty, baguettes, that were formed into a bagel shape. With a side of heavenly soft, creamy and rich butter, it was a joy to languish over my wine and bread. I shifted by selection to the hangar steak from the Filet mignon, at the last minute, and boy am I glad I did! It was so perfectly cooked, and already cut up for me, that it saved me time, and effort, and it was cooked and seasoned to perfection, with a light chimichurra sauce on some pieces. I really enjoyed this meal, and at about $ 50 total, it was well worth it. The bar crowd is a cool mix of international business people, and parties of 5+ business groups drifting to the quiet large room in the back. Overall a wonderful experience.

Went there for RW with much anticipation. Impressive and elegant décor. I was looking forward and was not disappointed by the pork belly appetizer thought it was pretty tiny. The peach salad was equally good. Their side bread, stacked like donuts, was delicious. Things kinda went south after the appetizers. Our entrees, so did our desserts, came literally within 2 mns of clearing out the table. It was good that we didn’t have to wait but also a bad sign when your food is ready THAT quickly. Our entrees were OK, nothing memorable. As for desserts, the cheesecake I had was so rough, straight out the fridge. I traded it for SO’s chocolate cake, which at least was softer. Can’t speak for their regular menu, but clearly they just mass-produce meals for RW.

Came here first time for the Restaurant Week dinner. This Steakhouse has a modern décor and is very spacious. After we ordered our food, they gave us a rod of bagel-looking bread that tastes warm and yummy. I really like their Pork Belly; it was melting in my mouth; the Mozzarella with Spinach is just fresh and tasteful. I think their strong dish is their Aged Sirloin Steak; it was crispy outside as if it were fried and inside is still rare and tender. I got the Short Rib with Potato. Short rib is well marinated and tender but I think the Potato side is a bit too sweet. At first sight, the entrée doesn’t look huge but they sure filled us up. Finally, our desserts came. I really like the Chocolate Moose Cake with a scoop of Banana Ice Cream. I heard they have great Burgers too. would like to try it sometime!

Birthday steak… birthday steak… ooooh ooooh ooooh. Isn’t that how the song goes? Well anyways that’s what I’m usually thinking about around my bday. Came here with a couple friends to get the night started before some bday partying in NYC and Primehouse hit the spot. I ordered the classic filet, which came out perfectly cooked. And don’t you worry your pretty little head, they wouldn’t dare soak their steaks in butter(a huge pet peeve of mine, yes I checked). Beyond just the steaks you’ll also find a beefy wine list where I found a killer pinot. Service wasn’t great(we’ll call it three stars), but that didn’t get in the way of a great evening either.
