There are a ton of restaurants to choose from in little italy, and it’s very difficult to find an authentic one amongst them. I’ve lived here for 12 years and the appeal of little italy always attracts the tourists, but as a local I am so happy to have found one of the best, real, authentic italian restaurants in the area! I always get the home made gnocci, with their fresh pomodoro sauce, it’s wonderfully seasoned with fresh basil, onions and garlic! the ambiance is wonderfully quaint and the staff are very attentive but also will give you your space if you just want to have some peace and quiet while you dine. Perfect for dinners solo, on a date, or with friends and family. I am vegetarian(don’t eat dairy though) and they are happy to accommodate. highly recommended !!

Showing a friend around the city, Ciao is down the block of my apt and right in front of the Little Italy sign, so we decided to have a quick bite. Ciao has much friendlier staff than most nearby establishments. We got a 4 Stagioni pizza. Big, gooey and delicious. It’s perfect cuz I like artichoke and ham, she prefers mushroom and olive. We each got a glass of wine while people watching. Very chill, nice music. Highly recommend if you are with family looking for a cozy little spot near Little Italy.

We were here a few years ago and returned because it is an easy walk from our hotel in Times Square. We had good memories of this little Italian restaurant. It is very small and the tables are tight but that does not work against this place. The servers are very friendly and helpful. The food is very well prepared and it seems the prices are less that the typical Times Square tourist place. The first time we went here because our hotel concierge told us it was a local’s favorite spot. He was right and after three visits it does seem like an insider’s special spot. We look forward to next time!

First night being in New York. My two friends and I come from SF and we simply expected a much better customer service. There was one particular guy who seemed lost ! My friend ordered a glass of wine and slammed it on the table. We ordered a plate of calamari and we didn’t get it… Oh almost forgot, the complimentary bread, we had to ask for it. Let’s see, this place gets two stars because the manager is trying and was very friendly. But he needs to re consider his staff.

Not sure why this place doesn’t have too many reviews yet. Was walking down little Italy trying to figure out a restaurant to dine in, the Christmas lights outside struck us! It was so cute. They had a vegan/vegetarian menu about 5 – 6 items which was great. They offered bread, were quick with service and the food was yummy with enormous portions! I ordered the vegan fusilli pasta which was a lot of sautéed vegetables, with fusilli pasta and tomato sauce. My hubby ordered the chicken parm and loved it! The prices are relatively good too compared to all of the other options in that area. Check this place out!

Not a fan the grandmas meat balls were not good the texture and taste was bland. They tasted boiled in water .The people next to us sent there food back they did not like it. I ordered the gorgonzola walnuy apple salad it waa good and the gnocchi gorgonzola with nuts it was full of walnuts it did not compliment the pasta at all. The service would have been good but all the people and wait staff in the kitchen were all speaking spanish they juat diddnt care like as if there was no managment or a real chef.

Spaghetti & meatballs and lasagne after we split a caramelised onion and goats cheese bruschetta. With a beer(medium Peroni) and an iced tea. Food was ok. They added 20% to to the bill, taking it to $ 73 give or take a few cents. Expensive for what we had. Service was just ok, but when asked to recommend between a lasagne and a carbonara, all we got was: «one has white sauce, the other has tomato sauce». Not the best. Food was average.

I’ve lived in the neighborhood for 3 years now and I am always on the hunt for great chicken parm. The search is over– best red sauce I’ve had in the city. Ignore the fact it’s on mulberry and sits in little Italy– unbelievable food! Highly recommended.

My girlfriend and I came across this restaurant named«Ciao» and we decided to give it a try. An Italian guy named Domenico welcomed us and invited us to sit down. We had a little chat with him before we ordered, we talked about Italy and off course about food! He had a great sense of humour and made both of us laugh. He suggested some fried calamari to start and we loved it. We also liked the pizza margherita and frutti di mare spaghetti. The staff was really friendly. We will definitely come back.

great food and service to start, but when my friend asked for separate checks(mind you there was 2 of us) the waiter then began to chastise my friend and I for waiting until the end of the meal to ask for separate checks, essentially treating us like children, then when the check came, my friend’s VEGETABLE risotto was $ 30.00. the price was not on the menu for the risotto because you could either get vegetable or seafood risotto so I was assuming the seafood would be market price, but the mixed vegetable risotto(which included zucchini, broccoli, carrots and tomatoes) should not have been $ 30 by no means. Despite the delicious food, after being rudely treated like children and being charged far too much on a vegetable risotto, my friend and I will not be returning.

Our early dinner experience is a mix. The location(corner of broom &) with a clear view of the«Welcome to Little Italy» sign in the middle of little Italy and the sidewalk sitting area with the Italian chatter on the background makes this place the ideal lunch destination. Our lunch had a very bad start. We were sitted after asking if we should sit ourselves. After 10 – 15 minutes, my granddaughter got up to go ask for a menu at the bar(since we couldn’t get anyone to acknowledge our presence. Right after, the lady on the table next to us got up to ask for their check at the bar as well, since they were having zero success getting their server’s attention. After 10 – 15 minutes of looking through the menu — I suggested to my granddaughter that we should go somewhere else. While we discussed our departure we saw another couple(in their 60’s) leave. And about two minutes thereafter a server with a very«peppy» attitude showed up to take our order. He was polite, offered help to my granddaughter on her choice of spaghetti sauce, and showed me on the menu the items I would probably like. I ordered the special at his suggestion… Mushroom Risotto with Truffles. And the Chianti glass of wine also suggested to pair well with my food. Our food was served in the next 10 minutes. A gentleman came to check on us and make us feel good about what we have ordered. In another 10 minutes he checked in how we were doing. I saw him talking to customers and employees all with the focus of making the customers happy and feeling good for eating there. And at that time the restaurant began to fill-up. Our meal ended on a positive note.
