Delicious! The atmosphere was lax and the waitress was extremely attending to us. Their lunch special as other reviewers have noted is an amazing deal especially because most vegan/vegetarian restaurants in nyc tend to be higher on the price scale. We ordered the curry samosas as a starter, nothing special but really good with the mint dip. My friend ordered the cold green tea noodles which was perfect for the hot day, and I ordered a bean sprout mix which combined with the lunch special was filling in a light and satisfying way. Will be back to try other menu items! A great place to take your non-vegan/vegetarian friends as well.

Discovered Wild Ginger not long ago and already went twice in a month. Surprisingly good for someone who never had vegan asian before! Go there and try it it is great and affordable. Loved the ice cream & brownie!

Been searching for a vegan restaurant to like being a non-vegan. It’s been tough. Ordered the hot and sour soup and the general tso’s soy protein dish. Flavor of the soup was a tad bland and while the texture of the chicken was ok, there was just too much gooey sauce in the dish that detracted from any real taste of the«chicken». I was looking for the best tasting vegan chicken that tastes as close to chicken but this doesn’t quite do it for me.

My friend & I came here around 7:30 on a Tuesday night & were seated immediately. The service was decent. We ordered the samosas, ragoons, & the black pepper seitan to share! Everything was enjoyable, although it’s not the best vegetarian place I’ve been too.

Go here knowing that«vegetarian» here meats you will get some sort of mock-meat soy protein item. If you’re ready for that, and you’re into that sort of thing, it’s great. They have a huge variety and I actually really liked the soy protein, even though I’m not always a fan of it. The food is not greasy or heavy, and the portions and nice. Their desserts are good too! Everything is reasonably priced.

We ordered LuAnne’s on seamless and were sad to find plastic(wrap? packaging?) cooked into our noodles. I found the plastic when I nearly swallowed it — fortunately I noticed that I couldn’t chew it and spit it out and unravelled it. It was a couple inches of clear plastic covered in sauce and oil. We emailed seamless but it seems they didn’t call the restaurant so we called the next day — the man on the phone clearly didn’t believe us, asked why we didn’t call the day before, and basically said«so what, what do you want me to do about it?» I suggested that he might want to be concerned that there’s plastic in his food, maybe look into it in the kitchen and give me a call back. Believe it or not, we have not heard back — shocker. We’re not holding out breath, though we are glad we can still breathe and are not choking on wads of oily plastic.

The food is so fast! As a vegetarian it is really hard to find great restaurants with huge menus full of food I can eat. They also serve alcohol, which is an unusual surprise for this kind of restaurant. Also, their delivery is really quick when you do directly to them through Seamless. Don’t bother with Postmates, their own delivery guys are faster!

LuAnne’s Wild Ginger All-Asian Vegan provides tasty, healthy dishes at reasonable prices in a relaxing atmosphere, and the service is great, too. I’ve been here several times, and I usually start with the spring rolls and the agedashi-tofu, which have been yummy every time. Recently, I tried the crispy soy protein and the stuffed wontons, which tasted great. Seriously, I have not had a bad meal here. I have not tried the desserts yet, but from the happy faces of other patrons and the great Unilocal reviews, I look forward to coming to LuAnne’s restaurant the next time that I have sweet tooth. YUM!

I was dining with a friend who’s kosher, doesn’t eat fish, and really wanted Asian food — this charming little restaurant really fit the bill — and had a good wine selection too! I’m totally not vegan but really enjoyed it!

I had a mixed experience at LuAnne’s: I think a number of folks will really enjoy eating at this place, but it’s certainly not for everybody. The atmosphere is inviting and very put-together: the interior is wooden, the incandescent lighting gives off a cozy vibe, and there’s a sunflower centerpiece and paper menus on a table right when you walk into the eatery. The food was a different story, though: I ordered the watercress salad with slices of avocado and peanut sauce. I thought the meal was unbalanced, because the salad had way too much watercress, and I wished there was more avocado in it. The watercress was tough to eat(this was my first time eating it)– since you’re basically eating leaves on stems that are all bunched together. The service was a strong point during my time here: the waiter greeted me right as I walked in the door and was vigilant about when I needed water refills. He responded quickly when I said I was ready to order my food and when I wanted my check. Overall, I’m glad I tried the food at this eatery, and maybe I’ll give it another try in the future, especially since I’m searching for places where I can eat healthier, more wholesome food.

This was our second time here, and it was just as good as the first. Vegetarian Asian is always our favorite, and this time we also ordered off the gluten-free menu. Bibimbap was a great medley of flavors, as was the tofu and vegetables. Agadashi tofu was perfectly accompanied with a sweet and sour sauce. That and the coconut rice were appreciated changes to the standard Asian fare. Service is great! Servers are very helpful in answering question about dietary concerns. Will definitely be back!

Stumbled into this restaurant after the place we were trying to go was completely packed. So happy we landed here because I’m definitely coming back. I got the Mekong Salad and it was so delicious. My friends got the Bibimbap and Jap Chae and they also absolutely loved it. Definitely recommend. Additionally the ambiance is nice and the staff are really fantastic. It was a less busy Monday night and we wanted to stay and chat after dinner and we never were rushed.

I walked by this restaurant for years now but never stepped in. I was hungry at work so I decided to order through seamless and got the bibimbap and mint chocolate chip ice cream. The bibimbap portion was huge therefore I couldn’t finish it. It was still delicious and different from the traditional bibimbap, which I loved. The peanut butter sauce and the bibimbap sauce that came with the dish is so good when mixed together. Although the ice cream was good, I was a bit disappointed with the portion size. I expected a bigger size for the price. I still approve and recommend this restaurant ! :)

Les Paul’s mellow«King’s Serenade» and dim lighting are a sure recipe for a nap. Wild Ginger’s languid pace is a welcome change from the boisterous Chinatown at their doorstep. What was even more welcome? Their shumai. Their steamed spinach dumplings were an explosion of flavor with a hint of sesame. They pulled me from that lull. Did I mention they’re Asian fusion, without the meat[1]? Vegans, rejoice. Credit accepted. [1] So many jokes. Yeah, I know I’ll get in trouble for posting this footnote.

Very interesting and appetizing menu. A bit pricey in my opinion, but good for a meal with friends once in a while. I met this waiter there named Kamen, and he was a big reason why I liked the place. I am quite particular about having my food cooked(as opposed to raw), and sometimes ask for one ingredient to be switched with another. He honored my requests without hesitation, although another time I went the waiter denied my request without even asking the chef.

LuAnne’s…or Wild Ginger(what the storefront actually reads), is one of my new favorite go-to Vegetarian spots in the city! I ordered the… ~ Wild Ginger Macro Bowl($ 12), which consisted of steamed pumpkin, chick peas, kale, black seaweed, broccoli, carrot, and tofu on a bed of brown rice.(5⁄5) ~ Cold Noodles($ 8), which consisted of cold green tea noodles tossed with sesame sauce.(5⁄5) ~ Steamed Vegetable Dumplings($ 6.5), which consisted of assorted veggies wrapped in a green dumpling skin.(5⁄5) I loved everything that I ate and it didn’t taste at all«too healthy». The food was excellent and filling. Service here is on point and the interior atmosphere is warm, rustic, and cozy; I love the candles and curtains inside. :)

I’m craving some clean vegan food and thought of this place immediately. I had the black pepper seitan here a few weeks ago and it’s delicious. The entire dish is really filling and hits all the food groups — carbs, protein, veggies, and of course, lots of love. Service is great and the ambiance is very soothing. highly recommend!

I don’t usually go for Asian fusion or strictly vegetarian places but this place is nice. I’m actually a fan of pad Thai. I can’t eat very spicy, so I ask for them to make it more mild. I think they just put less sauce. The result is a very nice mild sweet and sour sauce. I like how the veggies are finely chopped and, as a result, soak up the sauce nicely. I really like it because some places’ pad thai/pad see ew sauce is too strong(overwhelmingly sweet, sour, or salty). The bibimbap my friend ordered was also good(it has avocado). Btw, I don’t think it’s vegan like the title suggests. It’s vegetarian. I think egg is one of the ingredients in some dishes.

The other location in Williamsburg puts this place’s food to shame. Idk how they managed to make the same exact dishes lifeless but I don’t see myself going back.

Sorry to buck the trend here but the Pad Thai I ordered was a bland mess. Ordered from seamless and I got my delivery on time. My food was a little on the cold side of delivery but whatever. The food itself was super underwhelming. 99% noodles. The tofu was hard to come by, almost no sprouts so it had no crunch. No peanut pad thai flavor it just had a mild heat. Oh yeah and I asked for extra spicy, this was maybe a 3⁄10 on the spicy scale. I really struggled between and 2 and a 3 for this place. Since the delivery was prompt and the food wasn’t terrible just bland, you get a three. However, I will not be back.

This place is the best! Our server Common, not spelled correctly, was excellent! The food here is amazing. The 2 of us split 4 different apps. The BBQ tempeh, the yam & taro tempura, crispy soy protein(like chikin nuggets), and the stuffed wontons. You must try this place!

Came back here with my other sister, and we had a wonderful experience. She had just arrived from her bus so we lugged her suitcase and backpack in from the rainy, windy streets. The servers were so friendly and welcoming! We ordered the House Bibimbap and Macro Bowl, both of which arrived in just a few minutes. Our server was incredibly attentive(continuously refilled our water and asked if there was anything he could do — brought me a extra bowl of the kimchi sauce!). Overall, it was such a pleasant dinner with delicious food and at a reasonable price — I would recommend it to everyone! FOOD: 4.5÷5 ENVIRONMENT: 4.5÷5 SERVICE: 5⁄5 VALUE: 4.5÷5 OVERALL: 5⁄5

Tiny, quick, no nonsense service. Love coming here for a lone lunch since I live in the neighborhood. The scallion pancakes with the mango salsa was soooo good. Very crispy and thin. The mango salsa was a bit unnecessary but it added a nice touch. I just wish they used sweeter mangoes. Cold sesame noodles were delicious and pretty filling for one person. Nearly all the soups I’ve tried are delicious. I particularly love the pumpkin soup. The bibimbaps are just whatever. Nothing special there. The tofu sizzling platter was probably the best dish I’ve had here. The tofu was seriously sizzling with smoke everywhere but nothing was burnt. The bed of bean sprouts were soooo yummy. Will always come back! I’m not a vegan but I do spend a few days in the week without eating animal products.

Cute little veggie spot right on the border of Little Italy and Chinatown. Asian style food with some modern healthy twists. Pretty large menu, which for vegetarians can be a little overwhelming(you mean I have 23 options instead of 4?!) I ordered the seitan bibimbap which came with an appetizer soup. Since it was pumpkin soup, I expected it to be the sweet pureed kind, but instead came in chunks in a light broth which was a pleasant surprise. The bibimbap was also outside the box of the traditional Korean style. Sweet coconut rice was topped with unique ingredients such as avocado, edamame, chick peas kale and mango. Mixing sauces included a spicy kimchee and peanut sesame. The strange variety of ingredients may sound like a put-off, but believe me, they mixed nicely together! The décor was simple and earthy, service was very good as well. All in all, Wild Ginger is a wonderful place to try out some healthy vegetarian Asian inspired dishes!

The small plates are great. Steamed dumplings, spring rolls, miso soup and scallion pancakes were all yummy. I had the yaki soba stir fry which was good, but a little too sweet for me – will try a different entrée next time. Their mint iced tea and passion fruit iced tea and lemonade were very good. And it’s so affordable! Great little spot.

It’s remarkable to me how hard it was to find healthy vegetable dishes on the menu. Everything was in bread, &/or oil, &/or fried. And I’m not eating soy or grain right now. So the only thing I could eat on their menu was the steamed vegetables. Pretty wild. At least the staff was very nice and the space was cozy.

Surprising small Asian restaurant between Little Italy and China Town. Quick and gentle service, few tables and cosy atmosphere. Good traditional Asian food with generous size. Good choices for vegan and vegetarian. Recommended!

Love it! The décor was simple and well placed. Also I like brick wall ^.^ They venue was small, but cozy. I can only speak for two dishes I had and if you are a vegan/vegetarian then you will love it too. I had their special Stuffed Wontons which were bomb! For my main I ate the Black Pepper Seitan and it was better than I expected. I ate all of it. Happy tummy and I didn’t have to wait long for my check. Yay!

I popped out here for a lunch with a friend I havent seen in many months. He had just returned from an 8 month trip around Asia, so what better setting that Wild Ginger! We both used to work in Brooklyn, and have visited the location out there as well, so we knew what we were getting ourselves into. After hanging around and chatting for a minute, we both defaulted to the same exact thing we ordered at the Brooklyn location: black pepper seitan(him) and eggplan and greenbeans(me). Our dishes came with an eggroll(greasy yum!), some soup(the last place gave you an option for soup or salad), coconut rice(I think the Brooklyn location came with brown rice — i loved the coconut option!), and we just grabbed a handful of waters. The food came incredibly fast — surprisingly quick, although the place was only about 1⁄3 full. We had barely had a few sips of our soup when our entrees were being set in front of us. We nudged the miso soup to the side and dug into the vegetables — both of us seems to enjoy… at the Brooklyn location, i recall my greenbeans being blistery-roasted/cooked, but these guys just looks steamed. Either way, delicious, and the eggplant is the obvious star of the dish, smothered in some tangy sweet sauce. We wrapped things up relatively quickly and had a leisurely walk back. It didnt seem like there was AC in the place and it was a particularly warm day, so if its a hot summer day, you may want to grab it as take out.

a friend & I were in the neighborhood and decided to get something sweet. Inside was a bit small and crowded, and the décor inside was like cute with brick walls. Each table had a candle and a flower on it. Our hostess & waiter, Lily, was extremely accommodating and was able to clear a table for us and gave us her recommendation on what to order. We ordered the peanut butter bomb which was absolutely amazing, a layered rich, dense chocolate cake with peanut butter mousse layers in between and a chocolate shell. It was seriously one of the best slices of cake I have ever eaten and I can’t believe it was vegan. the portion was very good for 2 people to share and the price was excellent. I can’t wait to go back and try an entrée

so I walked 90 minutes in the snow to get here… and it was well worth it. Nice atmosphere.(really dim light, but they had plenty of candles to compensate.) I ordered Black Pepper Seitan and a pot of lemon ginger rose tea. The seitan came on a bed of greens. It was suppose to be kale, broccoli and asparagus. Which is was, but they used a lot of the stalks, which surprised me. There was maybe on broccolini top and no asparagus tops on the plate. But the stocks were crispy and good. just unexpected. There was two good sized shitaki mushrooms on top. And a good portion of seitan; great texture and flavor of seitan. The sauce had the black pepper flavor without the heavy, salted taste most black pepper sauces have. Came with small side of brown rice. The rice had a few white beans mixed in, which a great cross protein idea. The tea was okay. They brought it right away so I poured the cup before it had really even began to steep and then my water was too low for it to really get great. I probably should asked if they could have topped it off with more hot water. but I did not… Price for seitan and tea was about $ 20. And then tip. Which is reasonable. I have been going to a lot of vegan cafes the last couple weeks and the ones that are around the same price are really skimpy on the protein portion. Definitely worth the stop if you are in Little Italy.

A great, cozy little spot that’s oddly in the middle of little Italy. Stepping inside through the billowing curtain felt like entering another world. Came on a Sunday night with my boyfriend after making a day-of reservation; they were even able to seat us early when our plans changed a little. This is a really great place for a date– intimate and romantic. I really liked the organization of the menu. The main dishes are grouped by flavor. Of course I don’t remember what those groups were now, but something like«savory», «sweet and sour», «fruity», etc. Everything sounded good so it was really hard to decide! I got the mango soy protein, and my boyfriend got the much-recommended pepper seitan. Both were great, and the two dishes balanced each other well — perfect for sharing. The service was fast and the staff were very friendly. As we were leaving, I accidentally left a shopping bag under the table. Our server rushed out of the restaurant after us and made sure I got my bag. So nice!
