I love this store and here’s why:
1. The price is right — in an overpriced retail market, the owner does his h.w. to bring in pieces that are unique, good quality and won’t break the bank. Ex. I just bought a great New Year’s eve dress — black lace — that I can multi-​task into the summer for under $ 100.
2. Items are unique — you won’t be walking around in something everyone else is wearing.
3. It’s like visiting your sister’s closet. The store is small and the owner is a true fashionista. He’ll pull things off the rack for you to try and pretty soon you feel like you’re shopping with a friend, and having fun doing it.
4. No pressure. I hate feeling pressured, but when I come here I know if I don’t love it then I won’t get the sales pitch. Alan wants you to love what you buy, which is probably why I keep coming back.

Unlike the cheap Chinatown clothing stores littering this area, Fashion 8A sells cute, well-​made clothing (mostly dresses and right now coats) and jewelry very reasonably priced ($ 60 – 200.) Plus, it’s next to one of my favorite vintage places, Exquisite Costume! Definitely give it a look-​see.
