Based on great reviews, our party(in need of brunch) on a November Sunday, went looking for the Speckled Hen. Alas, when we finally found someone at the Farmers’ Market who had heard of the SH, they could only tell us it had gone out of business.

As soon as we heard about Speckled Hen, we knew we had to give it a shot. Because we’d heard that the lines get long, we made sure to arrive five minutes before 10 and were second in line. The first thing I liked about Speckled Hen was the service. Even though everyone was busy getting things in order, they had a smile and a hello ready – and a warning that my chorizo’d biscuits would take a while because they thought they had plugged something they hadn’t. No biggie; we were happy to wait and see what they were up to. We had the«Nutella» toast, biscuits and chorizo gravy, omelette, and iced tea. It didn’t matter that the servings were small because the prices were also small to match. We felt like we got a lot of good bites of yummy food. For the price point, you feel like you’re getting exactly what you paid for. My only issue would be the fact that my slice of bread for the Nutella had more holes than dough! But that just meant less carb consumption – and I was willing to look at the glass half full considering how tasty everything was. Overall, Speckled Hen is a fun experience you should check off the list if you live in Nashville.

I can’t wait to go back here! Thanks for your reviews on when this is(day/time) that was really helpful! I love this idea of farm to table; you can even see pictures of the farm at the counter where your food is from. I ordered the chorizo/white cheddar crêpe with tomato relish on top and a side of potatoes. YUM! It was really delicious. I do recommend getting a side if you get the crêpe because it is on the small side, but it is right up there in quality as Marche(and I do love their crepes). I also ordered the honey biscuit with homemade whipped crème and nutella. WOW. That’s all I can say. Definitely order this, you will not be disappointed. This gave the Biscuit Love truck a run for their money(you guys are great too!). Overall I’ll definitely be retuning to a Sunday meal at the Farmer’s Market. I love it there and hey you can pick up a few other items after eating. It was a great Sunday Morning. Ps. Downside(if any) no coffee. Butter Cake Baby(I think that’s the name?) has coffee but bring cash.

I had the bacon and white cheddar omelet– amazing! I had never heard of the place before– just popped in the food court today seeking a cure for my hangover. I always approach a trip to the farmers market as an exercise in patience– be ready to fight it out for a parking spot, wait in line, wait for your food, and bus your own table. But the high quality meal, the friendly staff and chef, and reasonable prices definitely make up for the wait.

Excellent Brunch experience in the Farmer’s Market. Sundays ONLY from 10am-2pm(or whenever they run out of food) Everything is fresh & local, and the menu changes weekly. One of the best omelettes I have ever had. Even the piece of toast provided is home made. Bring a friend and order everything and try it all. You will not be disappointed. Extremely friendly and talented chef who is passionate about the ingredients as much as he is the end product.
