My wife and I celebrated our 30 wedding anniversary here last night. It was excellent! I had the Curry Salmon and it was fabulous.

Awesome service and the food was amazing. Crabcakes were the best I’ve had in a long time and salmon was cooked to perfection. I also love that a salad comes with the meal. Highly recommend.

Super great lunch! I love the atmosphere and the food was number one!!! Our waiter was a bit condescending I thought his sarcasm was a little rude. However the chef quality food was cool.

I went there for a birthday celebration with my husband and a friend before going to the Ryman to see Stephen King. The appetizers were ok, the cesar salad was very wet. Then the wolf fish entrée was again, OK. The apple pie and walnuts with cinnamon ice cream was a total disappointmen. Won’t b e back in a hurry. The absolute kicker was as we were leaving my husband slipped on spilled water and Ice. The waiter literally turned around from the table he was taking an order from glanced at him and resumed taking the drinks order. My friend exclaimex, there’s spilt ice! His response a snotty«I know». Poor show.

Update: hosted a dinner for 17 last night. A family celebration. Everything was great. Servers were excellent and all the food choices on our set menu were very good. Appetizers and desserts were also a big hit. Very glad we found this place 4 mo ago when scouting locations for this dinner.

Great food! One of the best meals I’ve had in Nashville. They have some great specialty cocktails as well.

Okay. I know I didn’t pick the right menu item… but really wet croutons in my french onion soup… that’s covered in this thick white cheese. yuck…I definitely did not enjoy this dish. Also the utensils were dirty. The atmosphere was okay… one waitress did not appear to want us there. but one of the waitress was fairly pleasant. So if you go don’t get the soggy croûton French onion soup.

Worth a try! If visiting Nashville maybe breakfast or brunch is better although dinner was not that bad. Not certain if I will revisit for food, but possibly for the cocktails not the wine… Guess I picked a terrible choice for my Chardonnay. Trying new can make one go back to the old… Or just somewhere else. 4 out of 5. Mostly because of the ambiance

The crab cakes are to die for! The Plum Pork was perfectly cooked and delicious. And I’m not much of a pork eater but I would get that again! While there are trendier places in Germantown, their food is no where near as good as Germantown Café. Skip the hype and enjoy some of the best food and beverages in Nashville!

I really like this place. They have a sweet happy hour, so it makes for good times to hang out with friends and/or colleagues after work. The HH consists of drink specials and $ 5 dollar appetizers. The bartender is super cool and the food is pretty good. The only drawback is that the bar area is kind of small and gets a little congested once it gets a little busy. I’ll definitely hit this spot again.

Food’s good. We went during Restaurant Week. I found it strange that when I asked for decaf coffee to go along with my dessert, the waitress later came back and had to apologize saying, «We’re out.» I don’t know if they weren’t brewing more… or if they lacked in inventory. Either way, pretty bad.(I feel the same way as another reviewer — no entrée really wows you.)

Good brunch, the wait is usually going to be 45 minutes on a sunday but that should be expected in Nashville! We sat at the bar and the Bartender was nice and helped us decide what we wanted. My girlfriend and I both enjoyed our meals, she got the french toast which was prepared perfectly and I got the steak benedict. The cream sauce on the benedict was delicious and paired perfectly with the steak. The grits may fall in the top 3 for grits I’ve ever eaten, I just wish they served them in a bucket!

While Germantown Café won’t disappoint on your first visit, I wish it could live up to its potential. The food is good, but the quality for the price is not great. I think this place could be so much better if they mixed up their menu more frequently. Their service is also not the best, starting when you walk in the door. I find most restaurants in the south to have great customer service, but I’ve never felt welcomed in the several times I’ve been here. If you do make the trip, I recommend the French onion soup, it’s very good.

We came here for brunch and had a very pleasant experience. I had the strata daily special and my husband had the shrimp and grits. They were both so flavorful that we could’ve had seconds if we weren’t already stuffed from the generous portions. We also split a ½ liter of one of the brunch cocktails. Also very tasty, and enough for a few drinks each(in champagne glasses). Our server was super friendly, as was the bartender when we stopped by the bar for another cocktail on our way out. It was our first visit, but we’re planning on grabbing dinner there next time we visit.

Woah. Nothing good going on here. I ordered a Brat at a restaurant with German in the name and it was a hot dog and peppers on a hoagie roll. The chicken and waffles came with what looks to be a past due eggo. All in all, stay away from this place.

Our first visit to Nashville and we were somewhat disappointed with the restaurant options along Broadway. At the recommendation of the concierge at Hotel Indigo(great choice too), we took a nice walk to Germantown and dined at the Germantown Café. It appeared to be a favorite of locals and we see why! Great pre-dinner cocktail choices, terrific entrée selections and the service was top-notch. Look forward to our return trip to Nashville and the Germantown Café

Cute little place in Germantown. I’ve been here several times & nothing has WOWED me … It good but never like oh, I want to come back her tomorrow ! Nope. Not at all. I have a couple of cocktail favorites; like the curry salmon but haven’t found the wow entrée . I’ve been here for brunch. Lunch & dinner. On my last visit I stopped by for a quick lunch. It was busy at all so we were able to sit by the window(to people watch). The service was great & prompt. I ordered the speciality raspberry lemonade & the salmon club. I passed on the complimentary bread since I was eating a sandwich. My meal came out quickly. The taste was very bland but hearty. The salmon wasn’t seasoned at all … Let down. It doesn’t take much to give salmon a kick *palms face* I wasn’t impressed with my meal but I’ll just check that off my list. Still on my quest.

I went here for the sole reason of trying their French onion soup one day for lunch. I got the soup and salad and it didn’t disappoint. Very cheesy! I just wish there was more of it for the price. Their Caesar salad was overdressed. Great service, too!

We had crab cake eggs benedict and shrimp and grits for our Saturday brunch. Service was great and we didn’t wait too long. I give four stars just because the eggs was over done and the shrimp were on the spicy side for 10:30 am. We had a good experience and we will go back for brunch.

I come here very often for brunch and dinner. There is really nothing that I’ve tried that I haven’t loved yet. things you should order for dinner: plum pork, coconut curry salmon, or blackened grouper. I say these items because these are the things I’ve tried. I liked them all! my favorite out of all the three dishes is the plum pork. it is honestly heavenly pork on your plate. If maybe there’s one thing I would skip would be their mocha chocolate cake for dessert. It was a bit dry for me. However, their cheesecake was to die for! if you’re an out of towner trying this place out during the weekend, make sure to call and make a reservation. It’s an intimate place so they don’t have a lot of seats and they get very busy. this restaurant is hands down in my top 3 favorite restaurants in Nashville!

Wow! The food is amazing, including the presentation. Dinner after dark is a very elegant, romantic setting, perfect for a date. From apps, to dinner, to dessert, I was impressed with every course. And the service was top notch. Looking forward to returning.

The Good: the food is good. Not great, just good. The ‘biscuits’ that came to the table were more like cinnamon sugar donut holes… those were DELICIOUS. Being that we were seated after noon, we came expecting the brunch AND lunch menu to choose from, but were only offered brunch.(yes, we did ask) I ordered the ‘Banana French Toast’ special and was a bit surprised to not have a single slice of banana on the plate when it arrived at the table.(I guess I assumed it would be a topping at the very least?) In confusion, I asked the waiter if I had the correct dish and he assured me that the banana was mixed into the batter. The dish was yummy, but my husband agreed that it seemed a lot more like banana bread than banana french toast. :-/My SIL seemed to enjoy her French onion soup. The Not-so-good: They claim they have valet on their website, but never listed the hours? My family went at 12noon on a Saturday and there was definitely no valet. Several members of my family arrived before me and were all clustered by the front door.(As there was no waiting area) With tables open all over the first section of the restaurant, they were not seated. In fact, my husband & I were the last to arrive and still waited about 5 minutes before we were acknowledged and seated.(Without an apology for the wait BTW) This place was MADLOUD. I normally do not complain about this, but seriously… MADLOUD. I personally feel our order took too long as well, being that most of the family ordered simple stuff… like the French toast special. All in all, not bad. Just don’t expect to have your socks blown off by immaculate food or even a sliver of an intimacy regarding the environment.

Before going to Germantown Café I perused the menu. There were so many yummy looking options and I had trouble deciding on what to get. Our food choices: 1. Fried green tomatoes with goat cheese: delicious and not greasy. 2. French onion soup: wonderful flavor, maybe too much cheese. 3. Salmon in curry sauce: maybe the best tasting salmon I’ve ever eaten. The broccoli that came with it was meh, but I don’t like broccoli. The risotto the salmon was on was perfect! 4. My husband got Plum pork and said it was delicious. 5. A couple of people at our table ordered Old Fashions and they raved about how good they were. Our server, Adam, was wonderful and kept our drinks refilled. He was even friendly and accommodating after we paid our bill and decided to order another round of drinks and stay and chat a bit longer. We had a wonderful experience and the food was delicious!

How have I lived in Germantown for a year and only recently tried this place? I could have been shoveling down crab cakes and delectable rolls for the last 12 months! Germantown Café has a really good brunch(served with sugared rolls/doughnuts) and an excellent dinner. Service is always consistent and the food is outstanding. Their décor is a little lack luster in the main dining room and seems a little dated. Read: carpet and fake sunflowers in vases. I docked a star because of the space, carpet in restaurants really freaks me out. My mom visited and we ate at Germantown Café 3 times in 1 week! Where’s a frequent buyer card when you need one? We usually eat our way through Nashville, and she liked this place so much we kept coming back. She wanted to come on mothers day, and I had put my name in around 10:30. We arrived an hour late(rude of me, I know) and they were very gracious and did their best to seat us promptly. I will be back for more, especially when my mom gets back in town!

Germantown Café is a solid restaurant. You got great food… fair prices. and its a clean well decorated place. I went here for pre-Kenny Chesney concert dinner with a fair lady and we enjoyed it. The only thing about Germantown Café is that there is nothing outstanding or remarkable about Germantown Café. It has really no special character or food item or pretty much anything unique that would seperate it from a nice hotel restaurant meal. In Germantown, you expect some flare. This doesn’t have it. It does have warm and hearty food.

This wasn’t our first choice brunch, but we weren’t sad about coming here.(We tried to go somewhere up the street, but there was too long of a wait for our schedule that morning.) My sister and I decided to split everything, and we ordered the Crab Cakes Benedict with Pepper Jack Grits, French Toast with Bacon, and a side of Hash Browns. The brunch started with an(unexpected surprise) basket of Beignets with Strawberry Butter. Instead of powdered sugar, these were coated in cinnamon sugar. The French Toast flavor apparently changes weekly, and they make a different flavor of quick bread which they use to make the French toast.(The consistency is a little bit different than French toast made with normal bread, but not necessarily in a bad way.) The grits were delicious(as grits always are). The Benedict was tasty, and the potatoes were good, but nothing to write home about. There was no wait for brunch a little after 10AM on a Saturday, and there were a lot of seats still open, but they also had just opened. Seats started filling up(but they never completely filled) over the course of our meal. Service was good.

Mediocre food and decent service. Not worth the price of the meal. Had the crab cakes, fried green tomatoes and the mac and cheese(which was seriously the most disappointing of the bunch). Food came out far too quickly for it to be fresh. Mac and cheese was lukewarm, tomatoes were a bit burnt, and the highlight of the evening– the crab cakes — were little better than those at the red lobster. Ive yet to arrive at the best bit though… we got a complimentary cockroach crawling on our window!!! Yes, on the inside. I tried to snap a picture, but felt bad for our waitress who was trying her hardest to play up the subpar food to point it out. Sorry Germantown, but cockroaches seal the deal. By far the worst place Ive eaten at. Not even the crappy roadside diners Ive been to have had a bug that size just slinking around.

Food was really nice ! I had fried green tomatoes and salmon curry… both were lovely! The quinoa pie was unusual, i am not so sure I’ll have it again but it was worth to give it a try. Cosy and chic atmosphere, with good staff. Food is not german, but some dishes were inspired by what can be fohnd there. I was too full to taste a dessert, but they were promising. Be aware that bread is not really bread! It tastes like a donut, without any filling.
