Ok, so here’s the deal, my brother and I were actually headed to another restaurant in the area, but it was closed, so I went on Unilocal, and boom, Swaffles appeared. It was around 10am, so we headed there. The young lady was sooo sweet, the food was great. I got the Plain Jane with a side of bacon and coffee. Great place, great location. And I love that the waffles are not super thick. It was great.

The concept is good: a small restaurant with waffle-sandwiches, sort of like a permanent food truck. The question: to name it wafflich, or sandffle? Nah, Swaffle. Just like the name, the food is majority waffle. However, the execution is waffly– it could still use a bit of work — the waffles themselves are OK, the ingredients are fairly ordinary, and combined, you get decent waffle sandwiches. Ho-hum. The garden consists of raw spinach, tomato, cooked mushrooms and onions. A sweet sandwich«fluffy» had the same waffles with banana, cinnamon, marshmallow, and almond butter. Unfortunately, the almond butter comes premeasured in little plastic tubs that the staff microwaves(are those plastic containers even safe to microwave??) in order to spread«fluffily» on the waffles. The restaurant itself is very small on the inside, and parking is on the street in a charming pedestrian-friendly neighborhood. Something to try, but this place probably isn’t going to rise to be one of the great restaurants of Nashville. Granted, that’s not the goal of most places — and this place does meet its goal of affordable, relatively quick, and filling food.

Very cool place with a great concept. I had the Southern and my wife had the Vegetarian. Surprisingly very good with a cool atmosphere.

I thought this was a clever idea, but the sweet and savory mix didn’t work out as well as I hoped. The swaffle was eaten like a sandwich, and it was a little weird to eat a waffle stuffed with lettuce, tomato and bacon. The waffle doesn’t hold up as well as bread and was a bit too sweet. The sweet swaffle was better, but I think I could make it better. It was a little lacking in content– and again, too sweet. It also took forever to get our swaffles, which was strange because there was only three tables in the place. Try the crepes across the street instead.

So Swaffles opened up in the Germantown area so we went over to give it a try. I don’t typically eat waffles at breakfast unless I get them as dessert, but they also have savory waffles so I was willing to give it a try. First off the place is exceptionally tiny inside with only 2 or 3 tables and then another one on the sidewalk outside. You order at the counter which is about 1 step away from your table so they are sure to find you when it is done. The coolest thing about the inside is the collection of albums hanging on the wall… shout out! I have a similar thing going on at my house… and they even had a Journey one… sooo of course that’s awesome. PLUS they had 1 tv and it was on SAVEDBYTHEBELL. YESSSSS! Super retro. They have sweet waffle concoctions and also waffle«sandwiches» if you will… things like turkey and such but the waffle is the bread. I got eggs with bacon and cheese(I think, my memory is a bit hazy on that detail) which was served on the waffle like a sandwich. Came with syrup. Overall I guess I just wasn’t blown away… the waffle was good, nothing special. Eggs were ok. Bacon was thinner and nothing special either. Honestly, I felt as though I could probably make this at home… and given that I am not an exceptional cook(but I can cook breakfast better than most things), I thought that made it just meh. Also, drinks are from a small fridge, so either get water or hopefully you like some of the soda options. Cream soda was a good bet. My coworkers also were not as impressed as they could have been but the one that had the chicken and waffles was probably the most pleased. I knew I should have gotten that instead! So I’m going to give it 3 stars because it is new, they may be working out kinks, and because perhaps I ordered wrong. Stick to the sweet ones or the chicken and waffles and you might have a better experience.

Totally dug it, and one of those«wish I had thought of that» situations. Visited with two co-workers on a lunch outing for dessert, and very different and fun. I had the German, think German chocolate cake-like on a waffle, but also got to try a bit of the poppyseed(very tasty) and an ooey-gooey one another friend ordered that I forget the name of. They were all good, but admittedly mine was my favorite. Tiny place, only two tables and a few barstools with some patio seating. Free water, didn’t notice that they sold any real beverages. They are also on a pop up Scoutmob right now, so download that app if you are visiting Monday-Friday.

I love the whole Chicken and Waffles craze, and was excited to try this place. It was not the greatest of experiences thought. We got there and waited for a table(very limited seating here) and ordered food. The food took a while to make it to us, so thank goodness we were not in a hurry. Ordering a chicken and waffle wrap, I was slightly let down by the flavor, The waffle had little flavor, and the chicken seemed to be battered in Fish Fry, so it was chicken, but tasted slightly like fish, it was messing with my head. It wasn’t a terrible experience, but if i’m in the area i probably won’t be stopping in again.

Get the fries w/a side of mustard! Yummy! I had the Southern which is most popular. It’s good-not AMAZING, but totally solid and I’d absolutely recommend anyone to go. Super friendly staff and nice atmosphere. On the small side, so no big groups, but can easily sit a group of four. Can’t wait to watch this place grow!

I came on a very rainy day where it was not busy at all. We were told if the weather was better the line would be out of the door and down the block. I get there and was not expecting to see only three tables on the inside and two tables on the outside. So its definitely not a «restaurant» but looks like something quick and on the go. But it was different and very interesting upon walk in so I have to give them credit for being different. The countertops were dirty with sticky syrup left behind from another customer, being that it wasn’t busy that countertop should have been clean and there was an open table with food crumbs everywhere and nobody cleaned it up until after I placed my order and asked to have the counter wiped off. The order was simple and easy. It was interesting to see that they take the orders on an ipad and scan your card on that thing. Technology boy I tell ya. The food came in portions. Again, being that it wasn’t busy, mine and my partners waffle(s) were cold, her whole sandwich was like lukewarm and not really hot and fresh. The eggs sucked, and were not«scrambled» as they said they’d come. Overall the food was not all that. Only one person asked us how the food tasted out of three people. These were all college kids who looked like they put their money together to form the restaurant(great idea), but they were cheap with it. Paper plates, plastic cutlery, etc. We didn’t even get a trey. This place is a solid D, maybe a C-.

Really friendly service here, and the swaffle we ordered was yummy. But I would I liked more choices. Its a great concept, but I think they need to expand the menu. I overheard the cooks throwing out all kinds of ideas… use em! The place itself is pretty small too. Hopefully they’ll expand at some point as well.

Add swagger to waffles and you get swaffles. They wrap bacon and cheese in waffley deliciosity and serve it with some durn good Bongo Java coffee. I had the big cheese and my fiancé’ had the breakfast swaffle with bacon. What is the breakfast swaffle with bacon? It’s scrambled eggs, cheese, and bacon. Sounds good, right? Then it’s wrapped up in a crispy waffle and served with a side of syrup like a breakfast sammich. And this ain’t no fancy Belgian waffle, it’s the old school round waffle with little squares. Thin enough to fold and thick enough to soak up the syrup, it’s a breakfast ingredient orgy you can eat. Put some swerve in your swagger when you hit this place up for swaffles.

I’m always excited when a new place comes in close enough for a quick Metro Center lunch, and this place won me as a regular on the first visit. My suggestion? GONOW before the I-only-eat-from-food-trucks-and-drink-PBR hipsters and the I-just-bought-this-cowboy-hat-for-my-Nashvile-trip-yeehaw tourists figure out this place exists. Once that happens, the line will stretch around the block. Why? Because it’s delicious, unique, and cheap. For starters, the place is tiny and sits where the beloved Zackie’s hot dog shop once was(RIP, my friend). The people were over the top friendly and I enjoyed getting to chat with them. When I arrived, I looked over the menu and asked the folks what they thought I should get. They told me the«Southern» was definitely their most popular, and was a good intro to their menu. Maybe they were just really persuasive people, but it sounded delicious so I followed their suggestion. I just got a cup of water, and tax and all it came to under $ 7. So far so good. It took a while for it to come out, but they were cooking it all on the spot, and I am not one to complain about freshly prepared food. When it came off the griddle, the lady asked if I wanted any kind of sauce, such as honey mustard or ketchup. «HONEYMUSTARDON A WAFFLE?!» Perhaps I’m old fashioned, but that sounded disgusting. I politely declined and silently gagged. If only I knew how grave of a mistake I was making. The sandwich was a beast — a large waffle wrapped around a savory piece of friend chicken and all the fixins. Before biting in, I expected it to have some sort of sweet flavor from the waffle, but once more, I was wrong. It tasted like a delicious chicken sandwich. But… what was missing? There was something it just didn’t have… Oh yes. HONEYMUSTARD. I mentally facepalmed myself for not trusting the cook and polished off the sandwich. I will be back to try almost everything on the menu. The American(burger), the Break-Fast(Chicken or ham with egg and cheese), and their variety of sweet waffle options all looked rather tasty. With the right selection of sauces under my belt, I anticipate pushing this guy to 5 stars in the near future.

Being a coffee guy, I enjoy the experience of getting a good drink, then turning around and savoring it while I take care of my other business, which helps, because when I got some of the food I was disappointed. They use Bongo Java coffee, which is always tasty, and hard to mess up. I’ve had it there more than once, and they’re great at it. But the waffles, though. Not so good. The waffles themselves were grainy and neither rich nor sweet. I couldn’t even finish them, I disliked them so much. The filling, chicken, eggs, and cheese, were edible and savory, but not very tasty. I’m was disappointed. If you’re on the fence, then go, because the staff is friendly and courteous. I chatted with the owner, and he could not have been nicer, which is awesome.

This place is heaven! Get the bacon swaffle and the lemon poppyseed. The poppyseed was the best! I got the food to go and was very pleased to find that it was still fresh and not soggy by the time I got back to the hotel some 10 minutes away. I’m from out of town and actually sought this place out, and am so glad I did! I took a walk around the block while the food was being made, and that was very charming as well.

I would sum Swaffles up with one word. Adorable. It fits the décor the staff and the whole feel of the place. I had heard about this place and had a free Sunday morning so I grabbed my book and headed over. It is a cute little place and I had no trouble finding street parking nearby at 9 on Sunday morning. The staff were really friendly and helpful. there was a man at the counter and we all talked a little football. The girl at the counter suggested the berry lemon poppyseed as a sweet swaffle, which was what I was in the mood for. She added strawberries for me which made it extra delicious. The waffle was not overly doughy which I appreciate. I was very satisfied with my meal. I tend to crave sweet in the mornings but I would be interested in trying a savory option when I return. I’ve seen some reviews that complain about the amount of fillings or the size and I didn’t have that issue at all. I actually had to force myself to finish it because it was so yummy I didn’t want to waste a bite. Coffee was very good. I take my coffee black; however, they had a lot of different cream offerings including soy. They had cute outdoor seating which will be perfect for Sunday mornings when the weather is a bit warmer. I hope a good amount of people check this adorably different place out.

Not bad! Not a home run either. Positives: –WAFFLES, duh. –gluten free!!!(And the gf waffle was very tasty) –fantastic fries and swaffle options Negatives: –overpriced. Its just a sandwich with the waffle as bread… Not worth 7 bucks. And you have to pay separately for the fries which is kinda lame –the contents of the sandwich were sparse. I ordered the big cheesy and it only had one small slice of cheese and a bit of shredded cheese. And only 2 small slices of bacon. I was really expecting it to be smothered with cheese and big fat bacon pieces. Again, overpriced for what it was. –not much flavor. I would love to see them come up with some tasty sauces to put on the swaffle or to dip it in. Overall, it was fun eating a swaffle, but i think they need to vamp up the flavors and amount of food you get before they’ll get REALLY popular and amazing.

I stumbled upon Swaffles while aimlessly driving in the Germantown neighborhood searching for a casual lunch option. Like a beacon in the mid-afternoon, Swaffles appeared. Swaffles? What’s a swaffle? I decided it obviously must have something to do with waffles, so how could I go wrong? I came to find out that a swaffle is a stuffed waffle, folded and stuffed with either sweet or savory ingredients. I had the«Break-fast» swaffle – fried chicken, scrambled egg and cheddar cheese served with syrup. The fried chicken was some of the best I’ve ever had. They told me they bread and fry it themselves. I also had a Bongo Java coffee, black – the way God intended. But they have a full selection of other coffee drinks as well. Since my new teaching studio is located in this area, I plan to be back often.

The hubs picked up lunch so I haven’t been to the actual store… but based on what I’ve eaten so far, I’ll be back! I inhaled«the garden» which is a waffle(more like an eggo than a belgian waffle, but tastier) that’s stuffed with sauteed mushrooms and onions with mixed greens, tomatoes and balsamic vinaigrette. It wasn’t a huge, heavy lunch but really hit the spot. The toppings were fresh tasting and waffle was crispy with a slightly sweet flavor. If you’re looking for something more substantial there are several options with meat. I’ll have to go back to try the sweet waffles! The lemon-berry one with the poppy seed waffle sounds delish. Cost: $ 6 — cheap!
