Always a great place to eat so bomb food ! Carne asada fries and nachos are always a favorite. Also try the chicken enchiladas with green sauce

Great flavor in the asada! Reminds me of my beloved Yuca’s in Los Feliz. I will be eating here again. I am new to Eagle rock and this is a great quick bite place. Friendly and clean… Loved it!

Great place to get healthy Mexican food in Eagle Rock! I love coming here for the vegetarian options and because I never feel gross when I leave. I always get the taco plate($ 8) that comes with 3, yes 3, tacos. You also get rice and beans. Lots of food! I usually have to take some home and have the husband polish it off. My husband usually gets the carne asada burrito, which comes with chips. He goes wild at the salsa bar and basically makes a nice nacho plate on top. Kudos to Taco Spot for making their food a little less greasy and including those nice vegetarian options(even though I’m not vegetarian). I love your unlimited salsa bar! Lots of street parking available on Colorado Blvd and in neighborhood streets!

Dear Taco Spot, I am writing to you to give you two stars, as opposed to the original four I bestowed upon you. That is to say, I am taking away two stars. It is certainly not my pleasure to do so, however I find that it is a necessity at the moment since this past weekend I was barfing all day in my apartment and I have narrowed down the potential sources of my illness. There was definitely something amiss with my burrito, or some of those carrots I got at the pickle bar. It’s a shame because I love both the burrito and carrots in normal, non-barfing situations, but due to the food poisoning situation it’s unlikely I shall return again anytime soon. Regretfully, Jessica

This place is great! We live just up the street and they have become a staple for us. I really like the chicken tacos — it’s kind of home style so they are no fuss taco — no fancy toppings or anything which is just what I like about it. They’re salsa bar is great! They have tons of different salsas — I really like their chipotle one. My husband gets something different each time and each time he says it’s good. He’s done the chilliquelles, el pastor, carne asada fries and steak option. All great

Not great. The food is bland and kind of depressing. Left me feeling kind of gross. They have a lot of vegetarian options so I got a veggie burrito. It lacked any sort of flavor and was pretty soggy. I added tofu to it(an extra $ 2) thinking it would be fried or seasoned or something but it was just barely cooked and contributed to the bland/sogginess of the whole thing. Luckily they do have a serve-yourself salsa section so I used a bunch of the salsa verde to try and give my burrito some flavor. My husband got the asada plate which he said was ok. Everyone working there was super nice, but for how long the food took to make I expected it to taste better. The place was almost completely empty and we waited long enough that we wondered if we should go check. Probably won’t be coming back.

Tofu burrito is very good. Tacos are good, too. Worth the money. Good amount of rice and beans. You can serve yourself water. Nice Vegetarian options. Would go back again.

Super good! Got a lot on a plate and their shrimp tacos are the best! Loved their horchata. Would recommend.

This place has really really good«fast» food. The pricing to me is way too high though. The burrito I got was almost $ 8. It should be around $ 6 or so. I would want to come back but I just don’t want to spend that much money. No free chips either. A handful only comes on your plate with what you order. I want a basket! I’m at a Mexican taco spot for crying out loud. I’m a sucker for places that serve vegan options. Soyrizo? Yes please. I still don’t want to pay $ 8 for a burrito and not even get free chips. But it was so good. So so good. Those breakfast potatoes. Mmm. If only they came in my burrito. The most shocking thing to me besides their prices was how unflavorful their salsa bar was. No spice at all. Disappointing for sure.

I’ve had their veggie burrito, and their tofu burrito. I like the tofu burrito better, personally. But both are really delicious. It’s also not a very long wait for your food.

Came here with groupon and I was not disappointed, not the best Mexican food I’ve had, but definitely not the worst. Everything had a really great flavor the things I didn’t like are plating. The burritos come with just chips thrown on the side and it feels so un-impressive the chips don’t even look like they’re fried in house. I think even if they even just cut the burrito in half it would make plating look so much better. Now the shrimp burrito although the flavor was really good it did not have whole shrimp in it they were chopped up little pieces of shrimp which in a way is good because there’s more in every bite but I’m a texture eater and I like being able to chew on my food I want to feel that plump shrimp texture when I bite into it and I didn’t get that here even if they chop them — maybe they could do slightly bigger pieces, but i don’t like feeling like my food has already been chewed for me. My son ordered the carne asada fries and they were good also plating again just cheese meat and guacamole maybe some sour cream but no pico there was no color again not pretty on the eyes a tiny little scoop of pico just brightens it up and makes it look so much better.

My favorite: the potato taco plate! Reminds me of my mother’s potato tacos. Their rice is unique with a cilantro flavor and slightly green – I’m addicted! I’m not crazy about their salsas – they are not authentically spicy as you might get at a more home cooking Mexican place. But Tapatio is available at the salsa bar and that works for me!

LA times wasn’t kidding about this spot. I got the Carne Asada Fries they were the best I have had so far. The meat was tender and so tasty. The fries were so crispy !! And tons of cheese to cover them up. Guacamole was fresh and so good too. My boyfriend had a taco plate the rice and beans were alright but the meat on the tacos was delicious. I personally liked the al pastor taco. I love the ambience of the restaurant i thought the Loteria table #s were very unique. I will definitely be coming back !! Reason why I gave 3 stars instead of 4 was because I thought the cashier young man could have been a lot more friendly and helpful. And also because of the lack of parking area.

I decided to give this place another chance after they ruined my first order(take-out order) and boy I am glad I did. I ordered the Mole Enchiladas and they were amazing! I went in with my BF on a Monday Evening and it was super busy. Luckily, we made it before the rush came in. He ordered the taco plate and I the enchiladas. Soo Tasty! Their Jamaica is on point as well. Their staff is super friendly as well.

Amazing food here! I ordered the carne asada tostada salad and it was so tasty! You can taste how fresh the ingredients are. The tostada shell was nice and crispy, not like other places where it’s chewy and oily. My boyfriend had the carne asada fries and he too was impressed with the flavor and quality of food. We will definitely come back!

My boyfriend used to live in the next town over, Glendale, and wanted to show me all the delicious joints he would go to with friends. This was his first choice. Let me say right off the bat I love the food, the interior, the menu selection, and the service. He kept raving about how delicious the carne asada fries are and so that was obviously our first menu order. Then I ordered a shrimp burrito because shrimp is delicious and I want burritos served at my funeral, that’s how much I love them. We waited out on the front patio on the sidewalk and once they delivered the hot plates of delicious Mexican food, I knew this was going to be amazing. The carne asada fries are out of this world but the shrimp burrito got all my love. My boyfriend ended up eating most of the entire carne asada fries because I made it clear I was going to devour all of the shrimp burrito that lay before us. Knocking off a star ONLY because there’s only one(unisex) bathroom and it is quite far but that’s only a personal reason. The guys here are very polite and friendly towards everyone, especially first timers! You got a great spot, Eagle Rock!

When I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised by their assortment of Mexican dishes. My eyes gravitated towards the carne asada plate as I was craving some meat for lunch. After I paid for my meal, I proceeded to find a seat. When I initially walked into the place, it appeared to be very small, but as you meander through the remainder of the space, it is actually much bigger than I initially thought. I liked that they had a cart where you can help yourself to various salsas that complement your dish. There was a guy who was going around the tables and cleaning them although I don’t like it when people are cleaning near me especially spraying cleaning solvent near my food. My carne asada plate was really juicy and delicious. I enjoyed my plate so much that I ordered a horchata to go. Although it was about $ 3 for that drink, it was definitely worth every last drop. I looked at the back to examine their parking situation but there aren’t many parking spots to begin with. In front of the restaurant is metered parking at approximately $ 1 an hour. However, if you park further up the street, it is free. I would probably try to avoid parking in back as most of those spaces are reserved by other tenants in the same shopping area.

Came here for a quick dinner the other night. I was immediately drawn to the taquitos and ordered that along with the mole fries. You order at the register and get a number. I love that they have a salsa station, which is always a plus for me! They have this yummy avocado green sauce and the regular salsa verde and red sauce. The food came to our table quickly, so that was great. I loved my taquitos plate. It came with a side of rice and beans, so it filled me up. The mole fries were good in the first couple of bites, but the sauce became too overwhelming after that. Maybe I’m not a fan of mole after all, but the boyfriend thought the same. It’s a pretty casual joint, but nothing too special to me.
