I came here on my lunch break today to meet with a relative. Unfortunately I can’t speak much for the staff because she placed the order by the time I got there. However, I came when it first opened and staff was good. We sat outside in the patio, I like that they just got an awning perfect for this weather. The good this about Pieology is that you get to create your own pizza. I ordered mine with pepperoni and pineapple, the pepperoni for me is not good quality. Idk what they kinda grossed me out, I know TMI but they just do. I also disliked the sauce on it, I feel like they really don’t put much on it and its also really greasy. I would have suggested lunch elsewhere because they had a B on the window but they had already ordered. I also ordered a Caesar salad it was not good quality either; from the cheese to the lettuce, it was just really plain for 8 bucks. I gave it two tries which is enough to say I won’t be coming back.

The food is awesome. But that staff is unbeatable. I’ve been here about a dozen times and never seen a staff as happy and awesome as these guys. Keep it up!

I love Pieology. I’ve only been to the one in Encino before so I was excited to hear there was one in Westwood. I was previously a big fan of 800 Degrees(both are pick your own toppings, wood fired pizza), but IMO Pieology is much better. For $ 7.95 you can UNLIMITED toppings, which is a great deal. I asked the pizza maker if anyone ever gets all the toppings and she says customers do it all the time. Maybe one day I’ll try that :) The pizza is made assembly line style where you choose your sauce, toppings and then they took it in the oven and bring it to your table. The crust is thin and crispy, just the way I like it. Great tasting pizza, quickly made, and great price. The only downside to this place is parking, but it’s Westwood so I can’t really complain about that.

Pieology over 800 degrees any day. We got one pizza to share — herb butter, pesto, mozzarella, parmesan, ricotta, corn, mushrooms, pepperoni, chicken, bacon. Herb butter makes the crust greasy but flavorful, which is better than 800 degrees’ flavorless crust. I really like that $ 8 gets you a pizza with unlimited toppings, as compared to $ 1 per topping at 800. Crust is on the thin side so it’s like you’re eating a cracker with toppings or a flatbread pizza. Minus 1 star because of contamination. The workers don’t change their gloves often and they touch the meat right after touching veggies and cheese. They should probably change their gloves per pizza they make in case someone has allergies or dietary restrictions. There is a lack of indoor seating but there’s plenty of tables/chairs out on the patio.

$ 8 for decently large thin crust pizza + unlimited toppings. Done. I like the wheat crust version because it helps my conscious but still tastes good. Really like their herb butter and red sauce combination and of course, loading up as many vegetables(again conscious) and meat as possible. They have everything from artichokes and basil and even bacon! Pieology’s crust is pretty thin, almost crackery compared to 800 Degrees doughier pie, but I love anything crispy so I am a fan. Plus, I find that 800 Degrees tends to come out a little wet while my Pieology pizza fairs better under my mountain of toppings. The line can be a little slow moving and take awhile but definitely worth the wait.

Moral: Create your own pizza, do not bother with their«Own Creations» pizzas. Came here a couple times after it had recently opened. I was expecting a lot and probably shouldn’t have. It is good, but nothing special. I much prefer Open Oven or 800 degrees. However, when it comes to cost: value, Open Oven and Pieology win for sure. Great thing about Pieology are the unlimited toppings and create your own pizza. However, the quality of the toppings and thus the pizza once it is finished, leaves some to be desired. Also, the«Our Creations» pizzas are pretty disappointing, especially when the person making it keeps looking up at the menu to see what is supposed to go on it. I’m a big pizza lover, so I would still come back here if I came with someone who really wanted to, but if it were my own choice and I was craving pizza, this place wouldn’t be on my mind. (^) = thumbs up;(v) = thumbs down (^) Create Your Own– I created my own pizza and it was pretty good. I dont remember everything I put on it, but because I chose what was on it, it couldn’t have gone wrong. However, the quality is OK. Not bad, not good, just ok. I think the variety of choices and the unlimited toppings is what makes it taste good. (v) Smokin’ Buffalo– Pretty bad and dry. My bf asked the worker for this pizza. Worker said, «OK, what would you like on it?» My bf said, «IDK. whatever is supposed to be on the Smokin’ Buffalo pizza.» He then proceeded to intermittently read what was listed on the menu as he made his pizza and definitely skimped on portions. The flavor was pretty sad. It was bland, dry, and he felt like he was just eating crust. He kept trying to steal my pizza because his was so sad. Moral: do not get their creation pizzas.

Way better than 800 Degrees! First of all, it’s thin crust pizza, and when it’s out of the oven it is CRISPY! It’s not soggy like pizza from 800 Degrees. The best part: UNLIMITEDTOPPINGS. Yes! Pick whatever you want and however much you want, all for about $ 8. Great deal, and more importantly, it tastes great!

Pieology was a great example of an establishment I wish I lived five minuets away from. But now that I do with a westwood location, the build your own pizza game is only getting tougher as competition goes up. You have any idea how many pizza options are available in Westwood? Basically a million. And with 800 in town… pieology is a harder sell than normal. Set up like a subway for pizza, the artists will help you create your own custom pie on fresh dough that you see get slid into the open face over. If you’re too stressed about creating your own darling pie, feel free to choose one of their pre determined selections. I got to indulge in one of my favorite pies that I rarely get to eat, bacon and chicken. As an added bonus I got a helping of minced garlic, and even garlic butter sauce added to the red sauce base. The crust is thin, and normally that is a deterrent for me, but I really enjoyed the cooked dough. They take gluten allergies very seriously here. They take the time to make sure that everything is separated, wear gloves, pull out the special ingredients, and clean the counter. The final point that drive home the appeal of Pieology for me is the price. Instead of paying a base price for my pizza and then getting charged for each topping, I just payed one price. Regardless of the meat, veggies, or cheese that was piled on, one price. I was taken aback because I am so used to getting nicked and dimed for every little thing. It’s good, it’s close, its priced well, but man it’s just not as good as 800.

Great value! I came here the other day looking to grab a quick bite and it was perfect for that. It’s cheaper than 800 degrees which is just a few blocks away and you can put as many crazy toppings as you want. I do think the quality of ingredients is not as high as 800 degrees but here is definitely better for the college or grad student on a budget. There’s only limited seating. It’s been chilly recently and only two inside tables may be affecting the business. Could maybe invest in some heat lamps but didn’t see any outside.

Move over 800, Pieology’s finally in town! Pieology will always have a special place in my heart because it was my first build-your-own meal establishment that I’ve ever been to. Long before I even tried Chipotle! That’s why coming to Westwood and trying 800 Degrees was super disappointing. It was soggy, every topping fell off, and it was so OVERPRICED. Here at Pieology, you pay $ 8 + tax for unlimited toppings. Your pizza has a thin, crispy base(yay thin crust!) so it holds up your pizza well and won’t spill anything over! There’s honestly so many options here, you definitely get what you paid for. I usually opt for wheat crust, olive oil, ricotta and mozzarella cheese, a bunch of veggies, and chicken/sausage. Hmmm so yummy. Definitely will come back one day to switch out olive oil for herb butter. Note: the menu on the wall states(1) sauce(2) meat(3) veggies. You actually choose veggies first before the meat. Awkwardly, I was looking at the menu instead of the worker and said confidently«Spicy chicken and sausage please!». Looked down and saw a bunch of vegetables and one not-impressed employee. Since I was holding up the line, I rush ordered anything I could recognize. Good thing my pizza was still tasty! Highly recommend you try this place. It’s definitely here to stay!

I love Pieology so I was even more excited that they opened one up near UCLA! My dad and brother had never had Pieology so we came here for lunch while there was a movie première going on. It was pretty empty but it just meant faster service and more seats for us! My brother loved how there were so many choices and options. I tried adding the buffalo wing sauce to my pizza and it was amazing! Loved the spiciness of it. The ingredients are so comprehensive and I love adding the artichokes to my pizza. It only took less than 5 minutes for our pizzas to come out hot and fresh. It’s also nice since even though this Pieology is smaller than most, it’s still got cleanliness and service on par. They also have a very clean restroom for customers to use. Let’s just say that my brother has already gone back to Pieology since he likes it! I can’t wait to go back myself!

I’ve heard great things about Pieology so I decided to give it a try last night. It’s located next to Diddy Reese, so don’t be alarmed when you see the long line outside, it’s NOT for Pieology. I see that Pieology gets compared to 800 Degrees quite often and I can see why, but it’s really like comparing apples and oranges. In terms of pricing, Pieology is a flat $ 7.95 per pizza with unlimited toppings. 800 charges you $ 1 per topping which can add up fast. You start with your choice of crust, then add oil or herb butter, followed by sauce, cheese, veggies and meat. I opted for regular crust, herb butter, pesto sauce, mozzarella, spinach, banana peppers, artichokes, crushed garlic, meatball and pepperoni. I wish the garlic were cloves instead of crushed. I’m a garlic fanatic. It took about 10 minutes to get our pizza which is a tad bit longer than 800. The pizza itself was good, but the crust was too hard and dry for me. I much prefer 800’s crust, it’s just perfect, fluffy and crispy. You can sit outside, but there’s hardly any lighting at night and I like to be able to see my food. The tables and chairs weren’t very clean either, which is a no bueno in my book. The music was way too loud and just not appealing. Service was decent and as expected. I’m not sure I’d pick this place over 800, but if I’m hankering for a pizza with tons of toppings, it would be my first choice. However, for quality ingredients and taste, I’d choose 800.

This place was pretty great! There are a lot of pizza places nearby, but I would definitely recommend this one. Who can’t resist Unlimited Toppings? Don’t feel guilty about getting multiple cheeses or sauces, go right ahead! The pizza I got was great, sauce of pesto and herb butter with chicken and a whole bunch of other toppings that I won’t go into. That might be praising my own tastes a bit, but at least it shows their ingredients and oven is good. Only taking off a point due to some nit-picky service type things I guess. Don’t come here if you’re expecting a quick in and out, especially during lunch rush. They’re making everything from scratch after all. Other things were like their fountain drinks had no ice in the machine while I was there and half the napkin dispensers outside weren’t stocked. And believe me, you’ll need napkins. The employees themselves were friendly if a bit brisk. I did go there during a busy time so that’s understandable. Overall, it was pretty great!

REVIEWUPDATE: taking away TWO stars for the following reason. 1. The friggin’ bums that walk right up to your table and ask you for money. We were pestered 4 times in ONE visit by different bums asking for change. The pizza is still great, but get it to-go because you can’t enjoy a meal here without being hassled. It’s out of hand and I’ve complained to the staff but nothing has as of yet been done. — — — — — — — — – In the already crowded arena that is the Westwood pizza scene, this newcomer not only comes out swinging but turns up the heat past 800 degrees of amazing. So the setup is kind of like a subway or chipotle etc. you choose your base, sauce, and toppings for your flatbread trophy. It’ll run you about 8 – 9 bucks,(it was under $ 20 for two of us), and you can have ASMANYTOPPINGSASYOULIKE. Also you can do half and half on sauces, cheeses, toppings, etc, so your flavor combos on one pie are pretty big time. I did half red sauce and mozzarella, and half buffalo sauce and Gorgonzola. Toppings were artichokes, pepperoni, spicy chicken, and artichoke hearts, and helol I don’t remember because my taste buds short-circuited my brain from sensory overload… The pizza came out and the crust was crispy, and delicious, and slightly *slightly* blackened in some spots, just enough to show it was intentional. I ate all of mine, and most of my dates as well(she’s a lite eater, which means I get to eat a LOT when we go out. I know, you’re jealous but I digress). It was her birthday and the staff came out and sang happy birthday and gave us a cinnamon stick pizza dessert. I thought that was really nice of them to do. Overall the staff were very friendly and pleasant. The problem I have with this place is: the pizza is so good and so inexpensive and so high in quality and craftsmanship, that I fear my low carb diet may have just died… Or has it? They have salads too! ;) They have an outside seating area which was nice, though find the right table because some of them are wobbly. I would normally dock a star for this but the food was just too good, I table-wobbled happily. I award Pieology a piping hot, straight out of the oven 5 stars.

Another fantastic new Pieology location! While they already have a 800 degrees right around the corner this caters better to the masses. They have a much bigger selection of toppings and you can add as many as you want included in the $ 8 price tag which I just love. I went with a pizza with pretty much all of the veggie toppings using pesto as a base sauce and it was fantastic! Also a salad to go with it, both very fresh, good quality and tasty. The pizza as well as entrée sized salads are generous in size and were prepared perfectly. It can get pretty full, but the line moves quickly and the staff is on point. Great dinner here, glad they are doing so well and expanding all over.

I’m glad they opened up a pieology in westwood this year! There are other places around(800 degrees, Enzo’s, etc) but I still feel like I’d come to this place instead for the value and taste. For $ 7.95, you can create a custom pizza with unlimited toppings. There are a large variety of cheeses, veggies, meats, and spices that you can choose. I ordered a custom pizza with herb butter and original red sauce. My toppings were mushrooms, sausage, pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, ricotta, artichokes, corn, fresh basil, and grape tomatoes. The pizza came out straight from the oven and piping hot. The crust was a little burnt but still crispy, thin, and tasty. I still think blaze pizza(similar concept) is better, but I can’t complain too much about pieology. They don’t have much indoor seating but they do have some outdoor seating. There are also not that many employees so it might take a while for them to make your pizza. But all in all, it’s a great option if you are craving pizza. I like this place better than 800 degrees because it is cheaper, you get unlimited toppings, and the pizza isn’t as soggy. Check it out sometime!

Excellent addition to the already crowded Westwood pizza scene. Though I was skeptical, I was impressed by the service and food here! The options for customizing your pizza make for endless combinations, and the choices are a little overwhelming at first. I opted for the Herb Butter brush on the dough with Classic Sauce, topped with Basil, Pepperoni, and Bacon. The employees are generous with the toppings and everything tasted great. Four stars for a few reasons. First, the interior was uncomfortably hot, even for a warm day in Westwood. Second, the drink machine was out of ice, but the employee assured the beverages were still cold — not the case. Third, though the outdoor seating is useful and spotless, the open nature of the seating area meant our table was approached twice by random people off the street. I would highly recommend this location, and Diddy Riese next door makes for an excellent dessert!
