The phở here is quite good. I’ve had better before but this isn’t bad. They have a few choices. I will probably come back. The service is a bit slow and we had to request a menu on our own after nobody came to serve us after sitting there for 10 minutes.

man~ oh~ man~ has this place really gone down hill over time. this location used to be, «the spot» were everybody came to eat after clubbing or the day after cause you were too hung over to eat anything else. one of the original places were phở started to get popular in k-town. haven’t been here in years and only ended up here cause everything«good» and«original» was out of the way and the one that we wanted to go was closed. 1. the soup/broth was extremely salty. when telling the waitress she proceeded to tell the cook and the cook loudly expressed herself by saying, «no… it’s not!» talk about costumer service!!! 2. cilantro had some brown spots and did not look fresh 3. lime looked old as if was cut days ago and been kept in the fridge 4. two other tables were occupied out of the many available and the waitress acted way to busy to even bring napkins never again.

First of all the store is ran by Korean. Phở is Vietnamese. Obviously I did not expect much from this place at all. The meat was all right, the soup was standard. Basically nothing WOW-ed me. Parking is small so we had to park a block away. The street are dark and sketchy. Thank goodness I was with three guys. The service is ok. The lady barely understood English. She also ripped us off of our change. Our meal was $ 33. We payed $ 40. Assuming we give her a $ 3 tip she still owed us $ 4 which is a $ 1 each but she never gave us back our change. If she had given it back we would have been happy to leave it on the table. The atmosphere inside is also small and boring. There was no music or tv.

wow… this place actually has its own website? whoa… how ‘high tech’ of them…&kinda’ weird… but anyway, i’m not really into korean phở places, but it beats going down to little saigon or even to downtown LA chinatown for real phở(by vietnamese people), so sometimes i try korean phở places for kicks. this is why i don’t like korean phở places tho– the noodles are really thick&the broth tastes too ‘clean’- indicative of fake phở.

This place is A-OK! This was the first place that I ever tried phở. And it definitely holds a special place in my heart for that reason. The food is yummy. Hot broth with lovely sliced beef. I like this place, because they actually give you all the goodies including sliced onion. I’ve noticed that a lot of places skimp on that. This place doesn’t. The people who work here are super friendly and make me love this place even more. Yay for you, Phở 2000!

Westminster was definitely the place to go for some good phở when I lived in O.C. Living in LA, I have yet to find the spot. One thing’s for sure, though. This place receives my «worst so-called-phở» ever. You can pay me, and yet I would refuse to eat here.

Unilocal. I wish I could give establishment half stars… because Phở 2000… well, it’d definitely be getting 3.5 stars! This place is just around the corner from school… so we came here for lunch. Walked in around 11:30 and the place was empty. Looks like it may be Korean-owned so imagine to my surprise when the Phở came out and it was pretty darn good. I wasn’t expecting much… but the food was delicious. It was no Golden Deli(in San Gabriel), but much much more delicious than I expected! I got the combo special #2… phở with rare beef, tendon, tripe, etc. So yummy. I even got some extra tripe(hey hey hey… no ‘ewww’ comments allowed!). My lunch buddy Nick ended up getting the Chicken Phở. He was totally expecting it to be good… but expected the chicken to be dry. He was pleasantly surprised at the tender and moist chicken. We also ordered a side of egg rolls. Good… but I probably won’t be ordering them again. By the time we left, the lunch crowd started up and the restaurant was about half full. The restaurant was definitely a pleasant surprise so close to school… I will definitely be back again!

My favorite Phở place in LA~ and the best thing about this place is that it is walking distance from my house! Since I am a frequent customer at Phở 2000, the ajuma there gives me discount sometimes.($ 4 combination Phở #2 instead of $ 7) This place seem empty whenever I go, but I think Phở here is great! Summer Roll, Spring Roll and Egg Rolls are not so good and because of that, I give this place 4 stars instead of 5! OH and… I usually don’t have to deal with this since I live a block away, but let me warn you that parking is a b*tch. You have to valet your car or find street parking outside of the plaza.

Damn you, Jay. I’ve been working my ass off – literally, on the Stair Master, working out every day, and staying away from simple carbohydrates, protein and fat, and you had to choose Phở 2000 for lunch. I ordered the No. 8, oxtail phở, which technically is a bowl of plain phở noodles with broth and a separate bowl full of oxtail meat on the side. The oxtail was a little on the fatty-side, like me, but the broth was excellent. Clean, clear and full of flavor, they somehow were able to serve it piping hot without completely melting down the noodles. Of course, you can’t eat phở without having egg rolls, and so we ordered one of those too, under protest from me, of course. In fact, to show how serious I was in my displeasure of being pushed off my wagon, I only ate two of these crispy, delicious rolls and refused to eat the third and last one. That’ll learn ‘em. This is just like back at the good ol’ days of school, except I don’t have a couch on which to crash in the library. I need a nap. Damn you, Jay, damn you. [Starting Dec. 1, they have a 40%-off special on phở, which unfortunately means I will be back again.]

So I’m a big phở fan and this restaurant satisfies my cravings. Service is fast and the food is good. I usually order a small #2, which has a mix of a few cuts of meat like rib eye and brisket. It simple, clean, and quick. My only problem with the place is the valet parking in front. Sure it’s convenient when it’s crowded, but when it’s empty, I’d rather park by myself and not pay $ 2.

Updated: Holy cow — I originally posted this review on the WRONG phở 2000. THIS is the one that I went to. THIS is the one I am going to today. Sheesh… I really think people are putting reviews on the wrong restaurant as well. ******** I’m impressed. Just remember though that I am a Chinese guy writing about Vietnamese food being served in Korea Town. Buyer beware. It’s been many years of phở eating since I have tasted anything that I would deem extraordinary. You can eat phở at almost any restaurant and frankly, I really think it would taste about 90% the same. Some will claim that the broth is «better» with more or less MSG. Whatever. I cannot taste the difference. My favorite part of phở is the noodles and the soup and admittedly, I enjoy it even when I just buy the instant phở soup mix and eat the noodles at home. It’s all the same to me. The part I like least about phở is the«rare beef» and assorted beef parts they serve with your phở. Honestly, I wouldn’t choose to eat any of those meat parts in any meal. It’s usually tough and tasteless, requiring you to drown it in combinations of Saracha and Hoisin sauce. What’s the point? Here’s what Phở 2000 and the magic of a little«Korean» touch comes in. Order #8 — Oxtail Phở — and you will find yourself in a whole different realm of phở eating. The meat comes served to you in a separate bowl and is super tender, having been cooked for what seems like a good amount of time. It is salted and has a good amount of fat mixed in, giving it great flavor and texture. You can eat it with the sliced pickled onions which they provide. I mixed Saracha, Hoisin and lime juice into my onions and eating it together with the meat was… heavenly. I arrived at Phở 2000 completely skeptical that I would be eating anything other than a bowl of run-of-the-mill phở. I left wishing I lived just a little closer to K-Town. Give one point to the power of «fusion» cuisine.

Phở 2000… not sure why they chose 2000… I’m thinking it has something to do with the Y2K trend back in the day. Anyways… The restaurant is pretty clean, and it looks more like a Korean restaurant than a phở restaurant. While the phở is not the best I’ve had, its relatively good. The broth is clean(meaning it didn’t have MSG… I know this because my head splits down the middle when I consume lots of it), and the meat was pretty good quality. My only issue is that they don’t cook steep the noodles long enough. Phở shouldn’t be eaten«al dente». Best part though… free refill on noodles. Come here, order a bowl of phở for $ 8, and eat as much noodles as you want… there’s no limit! AYCE phở!!!

Do not go to this resturant. The food was horrible and the service slow and terrible. I got food poison from this place and was sick for two days. Also everytime I pass by it I there is a weird smell coming from there. Don’t Go!!!

Do you ever get a craving for vietnamese beef noodle soup? Better known as phở? Tonight, I knew i was craving something and we passed by this unassuming little veitnamese dive. This has to be the ultimate asian comfort food. Phở 2000 has a huge sign that says that they are the best in town… but who says? In a little strip mall that shares a parking lot with a korean karaōke bar/billiard, good ha, korean bbq, this restuarant holds it’s own. They have all the standard menu items, but they are super fast. I think I ordered and less than five minutes comes out our orders. They are pretty generous with the jalepeno slices and fresh bean sprouts. The avocado shakes is pretty killer and for under 6 bucks a bowl, you will leave filling very very full. Downfall: pretty small parking lot and the korean bbq is soot bull jip, a pretty popular place and later in the evening, when all the would be singers try to go karaoking, you’ll have a hard time finding a parking spot.
