Best sandwich place downtown. Pretty much can’t eat anything better for under $ 10 in the fashion district. Love this spot.

The food is good. But don’t look at the wall menu because it’s full of lies. Food: I got a Tuna Salad. Plenty of tuna, plenty of salad, could split this into two meals. Overall a good salad. Price: This is where my right eyebrow went up. The menu on the wall clearly says«Tuna Salad $ 5.50». My insides go, «Yay! Cheap food! Pick the cheap item on the menu on an a-okay item». When I was rung up, it was $ 7… I got a quick«Oh whoops, the wall menu’s wrong» and the cashier continued to swipe my card. $ 1.50 is not a lot of money, and this places gives you good value. However, I’m mad because I expected to pay $ 5.50 and got charged more. If I had known the actual cost, I would’ve ordered something different, either something actually priced $ 5.50 or something yummier at $ 7, not this weird in between business.

Server was friendly and the price is right for a pastrami sandwich. The pastrami was a little dry for my taste. Not nearly as good as Langer’s or even umami burger, but 2⁄3 the price so comparable when it comes to value. The rye was tasty and they had a nice amount of condiments on it. Not sure if it was the peperocini or the pastrami itself, but it had a nice level of spice. The place is a little hard to find, so I’ll reiterate what one person below pointed out. The address is actually 843 S. Los Angeles Street, lobby of the liberty building. Someone here posted a photo of the location which was helpful. Not much of a seating area, 2 seats in the lobby, so probably best for take out.

At first, I couldn’t find the place — the Unilocal address was wrong, and apparently, the owner has several locations(the 926 S LA Street one is now closed). I called the number, however, and the nice woman who answered the phone kindly told me the new address: 834 S. Los Angeles Street. It’s in the lobby of the Lady Liberty Building. First of all — CUTE, CUTE, CUTE! The shop, the building, the folks working behind the counter — it was clear to me that the owner had a very clear vision of the type of deli they wanted and I believe they executed that vision successfully. The service was more than polite and — since I was the only one in there at noon-thirty — was super fast. The pastrami sandwich was good. The meat was thinly-sliced not too fatty or gristly, but *just* juicy enough without soaking the rye bread — which I had them toast… to perfection. I asked for the Thousand Island dressing on the side(simply because I’d never had that on a pastrami & rye before… it was also quite delicious.) I also got a side of potato salad. I liked the flavors(it seemed to be home-made and not out of an industrial-sized bucket or anything), but the potatoes seemed kind of dry and chewy. I’m unsure if this was intentional; it wasn’t unappetizing, just different. All-in-all, this place is an adorable nook of a sandwich shop and if you’re between 8th&9th on South Los Angeles Street, you should definitely patronize this place.

Super yummy salads and sandwiches… for good prices! I LOVE the chef salad-it’s literally huge-for seven dollars… and it seems they put seven dollars worth of deli meat on it alone. They deliver for free close by. The only thing I’d say is order ahead of time for delivery, they tend to take a bit of time, but it’s worth it!

The person who takes orders needs to speak proper English! I ordered a Chicken sandwich, I got Turkey. I wanted Macaroni Salad, I got Potato Salad. I wanted Sprite, I got Coke-Cola!

Who would eat at Subway when there is fresh bread, meat, cheese and veggies 1 ½ blocks away? This place is great– it’s simple, fresh and the prices are fair. Also, they deliver!!! Fresh baguettes, black forest ham, an assortment of cheeses! It’s great!

They make the freshest and absolutely yummiest french bread sandwiches in the garment district. And they serve all Boars Head products! Hooray! If you are stopping of at the contractor’s or a showroom across the street, and need a bite to eat, stop here and order a sandwich. They have a great selection of meats and cheeses and old fashioned flavored sodas. But, oh my gosh the bread… it is so fresh… If the guy behind the counter yells out, «Grab a can of soda, it’s on me» don’t feel too special, he says that to all the girls.

Call me a sucker, but when the guy behind the counter has deep eyes, baby soft complexion and a smile that makes you forget your stomach is SCREAMING«feeeed meee!» — He had me at «Hello…» followed by, «what can i get for you today?»(Although, I was thinking hmm… well, do you really wanna know?). Kidding aside, this little deli is cuddled up with an Italian Mens boutique on one side and accessories/clothing on the other — tables sit out in front where you can enjoy your Boars Head sandwiches and odwalla juices and watch the world go by. A great stop if you are walking the north end of the garmet district. They serve up everything Boars Head has to offer — from more than 10 different cheese(yes, you can order in bulk to take home with ya) and a plethora of meat. Additionally, they have breads galore(tho, not a bakery — but basically a build yourself sandwich place). If you like potato salad to satiate your mid-day kibble — I highly recommend — indulging in theirs. Definitely fresh ingredients. Red potatoes, not too much mayo — just the right amount of seasoning — absolutely dill-licious! Don’t forget to grab yourself a bag of Miss Vickeys Salt and pepper flavored chips or some kettle cooked jalapeño flavored potato chips. Prices are not too bad — @ $ 6 for Lox and Bagel with tomato and lettuce and cream cheese. They have an entire wall dedicated to ice cold beverages — Odwalla(my favorite) in a multitude of flavors along with other carbonated, genetically altered drinks. Yum! Parking sucks here. Its a good place to stop for lunch if you are in downtown walking or order catering in the office. They will deliver, too!
