Deli lunch food and a convenience store in one without high prices! It’s located in the 32-story AT&T Center so I was expecting overpriced fare given that they could probably charge anything for the hundreds of workers in this office building. Not so, as it is surprisingly competitively priced. Probably a good thing considering the nearby competition at Starbucks and Subway — I’d much rather grab something here. The canned sodas are only $ 1 after tax, cheaper than a 7-Eleven, and there is a huge selection. You can get a fresh sandwich, soup or boxed salad for pretty cheap too. I like the fresh pasta and tuna salad which has a bit of a spicy kick and is $ 4.75 for a hearty healthy lunch. I would give this place 3 stars, except that last week I had to pop in to buy toiletries and was shocked there wasn’t a huge markup on the toothbrushes and toothpaste, only like $ 1.50-$ 2. I ended up with a whole toothbrush travel kit that had the paste, brush, brush cover, zip pouch and flossers for only $ 1.99. Did I mention it was even Hello Kitty-themed? I was expecting it to cost much more.

So, apparently this is a franchise, although this is the first one I’ve come across. Kinda like a Famima, except with fewer Japanese imports and counter service. Prices are a little high for the grocery type items, but the counter service food is really good. I was a bit skeptical about their breakfast burrito because the egg looked(was?) prefabricated, but it was super tasty and pretty much made to order. Very friendly service as well. Finally, a viable breakfast option in this part of town!

Wow. I like a Trimana. I mean, I actually LIKE a Trimana – me, who thinks that Trimana is kinda the WalMart of the Downtown office building market. But this place is set apart by the awesome folks that franchise. I came in to buy throat lozenges, because I’ve worked in the building across the street for almost two months without realizing that there was a store that sold sundries. I figured to make the $ 5 minimum for credit card purchases I’d buy some oatmeal and a tea while I was at it. Their oatmeal is delicious, and knocks the socks off of Starbucks across the way! I also grabbed a banana so I could cut that up and put it in my oatmeal. I really like this place, and will make it my regular stop for oatmeal and tea.

Ok, I’m upgrading my rating from a 2 to 3, a 3. Mainly because they have THEBESTOATMEAL I HAVEEVERHAD. Value = 3 For the oatmeal at $ 2.70 for the large? Great value. Grab a premium bottle of Pure Leaf Iced tea and you’re out the door for $ 4.98(and, they’ll let you use your CC on this one under the $ 5 limit) Food: 4 Oatmeal perfection. Perfectly creamy, good consistency… just like I remember it when my mom made it. Throw some milk, brown sugar, and raisins in it and it’s amazing! Presentation: 3 It’s fine. Service: 3 Still meh not great not horrible, although that’s up from before. Maybe if they’d just get rid of their $ 5 minimum on credit cards? Location: 3 It’s clean and tidy. Average = 3.4, Rating = 3

Pretty decent Turkey Chili, soups and sandwiches. I’m not a fan of their breakfast items but for lunch and snacks you can’t go wrong.

Decent soups and sandwiches. Assortment of snacks and sundry items. Sort of like a clean gas station mart.

This was a pleasant find. Yes, in fact, you can grow tired of Subway. I’ve been frequenting the Subway next door to this place for the past week because I’m working in a building right across the street temporarily. Through inside doors of Subway I noticed to other places, Trimana and a Japanese restaurant that I’ve yet to try. The Japanese place was too busy so I «settled» for Trimana although hesitant at first because of their small menu. They have about 6 sandwiches to choose from, 6 soups and a handful of pasta salads. I had the egg sandwich. While they were making it, I was disappointed as it was only mushed up egg that they were spreading on the sandwich… but then came the extras. Just like subway, you get to choose whats on it, and I’ll tell you what, fresh ingredients make a world of difference. The sandwich was so good compared to subway. And the angel hair and cucumber side salad was also very refreshing. Sure I had another sandwich today, but was it really just another sandwich? Or was it an EXPERIENCE… yeah, you’re right, it was probably just another sandwich.
