Herrrrro Little Tokyo!!! I came across this foodstand at Sawtelle and just north of Olympic. Not sure how often he moves but you can easily find out where he will be for brunch, lunch, dinner, or late night from his Twitter: . I’d say more like 3.5 stars, but I definitely see potential for growth so I’m rounding up. The guy behind Herro Dog is super chill, and his concept behind his foodstand seems like it was the result of a munchies creative streak gone right! $ 5 dogs across the board: simple. quick. easy. Macaroni & Cheese on a Hot Dog? You’d think«gross», but it’s actually pretty interesting! He simply says«People love Mac & Cheese. People love Hot Dogs. Why not put together?» It’s crazy talk, but I like it! I got to try 3 hotdogs from here — The Nei Hau, The Original Herro Dog, and the Teriyaki Dog. For one, I freakin’ LOVE peanut sauce, and the Nei Hau had a good amount of it. He also makes it from his own home recipe, along with the kimchi and teriyaki sauce. The Herro Dog had jalapenos and everything you’d expect from a downtown LA hotdog, except bigger and without all the oil. The Teriyaki Dog had seaweed on it. Yup — seaweed, which is a food I never willingly eat. However, since the other two dogs were pretty much a win, I decided to trust him and go for it and I wasn’t disappointed! It went together very well with the grilled hotdog, and along with the teriyaki sauce, it made for great flavor and texture. This guy is devoted, and you can tell. He’s out there from 11pm, for almost 12 hours doin’ his thang. I can definitely respect that :) CASHONLY
