Oh man, I HAVE to pay more attention to the dates of the posted reviews. This place may have been«da bomb» before, but I think things have changed. Antojo Fries: Undercooked, but flavor was okay. Burrito: Not horrible, but I wasn’t expecting lettuce in the burrito. Of course, I should have asked them to hold the rice. A toss-up between going to eat in the cafeteria in the hospital and hanging outside at the truck. At least I’d be closer to the ER with the former.

The chorizo quesadilla, which was not grilled long enough, mixed white beans and more traditional ingredients, with gut-wrenching results. Literally.

Came here one early morning coming from working, saw my Unilocal Roadie Ciara G’s Review, and thought to give it a try! It didnt dissapoint! I ordered two asad tacos and a cabeza burrito! both delicious! the asad was flavorful and tender and the cabeze was perfect not slimy at all! thumbs up! They Had a lot of juices and smoothies that looked interesting. definitely plan on trying them. My only complaint is I just wish they didn’t leave so early!

I met Ciara G, Isabel F and Corey M here today for an early lunch — which was actually my breakfast — because cabeza is the breakfast of champions! I meant that in a food way, of course — not… well, never mind: P. After this past week, when Ciara and I had Don Chow Truck’s awful tacos at the Tuesday night Santa Monica Food Truck Lot, I was SO over fusion tacos. I told her that I only wanted to eat authentic tacos for a while. So when she suggested El Antojo, I was all over it! Okay, I’ll make an exception for Bool — because they are always AWESOME! Parking was easy just across the street from County USC Hospital, where the truck was parked. We walked up and ordered just before the lunch rush came, whew! Saul took my(somewhat complicated) order without one single hitch or raised eyebrow or pause at all, which scored points with me too. I got this for me to eat there: Cabeza Burrito($ 6) — extra meat, with only cilantro, onions and salsa inside. This was a SUPERFATBURRITO! Just the way I like it: D. The cabeza was tender and flavorful with just the right amount of onions, and more tasty green salsa on the side. And these to go for my mom and dad: Adobada Burrito($ 6) — extra meat, Big Burrito style(with cheese, sour cream, beans, rice, salsa and onions) Cabeza Burrito($ 6) — extra meat, Big Burrito style(with cheese, sour cream, beans, rice, salsa and onions) My parents LOVED their similarly FAT and delicious mega-stuffed burritos, delivered to them still warm, with radishes and red and green salsas on the side. Prices were so reasonable, and portions so generous, even they were impressed! I think I’m turning my Chinese parents into Mexican food lovers! I just know that they’re going to send me back for more burritos — so please El Antojo, extend your neighborhood coverage to the Westside!

YES I CAMEBACK A FEWDAYSLATER! I am happy to report that this truck is at their spot Monday to SATURDAY! This being perfect as I was unhappily hung over after Friday nights Unilocal party and I knew tacos were the perfect cure for my hangover. I saw that they were offering a Shrimp Taco which made me super excited as my friend Paul talked about how good it was a few weeks back but unfortunately it was during my time out in D-Co. He refused to send me any food porn and said I had to try it for myself. Well I guess I will just have to then. I did and OMG as Corey M. would say, it was amaZeballs!!! I just started eating shrimp and usually only go for the bacon wrapped kind. This shrimp taco was bomb DOT com and sadly(for all BUT great for El Antojo) ruined all other shrimp dishes for me in the near future bc it was SOGOOD! The shrimp was perfectly cooked, spicy and melted in your mouth like butta. The tortilla for this taco is a whole other kind of wonderful as it is coated with cheese and then grilled up. The pile of butta like shrimp is then topped with lettuce, cilantro, onions, spicy red salsa, sour cream and served with limes on the side. I ate is all but of course and seriously savored every. last. bite. I don’t know how often they run this shrimp taco as a special but it’s a must if they have it. With a taco this good and the stellar service from the dapper lads working the truck on a Saturday afternoon, El Antojo may just become my new Saturday lunch spot. I leave you with an UPDATED skinny on these PHAT Tacos — When can u get then: Monday to SATURDAY! — Where can u get them: outside the ER entrance of County USC medical Center. Marengo and Kingston St. I GPS’d 1983 Marengo St. Los Angeles and it took me right where I needed to be. — Times you can get them: 9am until @ 6pm(sometimes 7pm) — How do u get them: Cold hard cash. No plastic. — What do u do once u get them: Tell Saul Ciara sent you, EAT and enjoy. Then go home and Unilocal about it.

Oh how I LOVE the streets of Los Angeles especially the«EASTSIDE» because you find some real good food in the strangest places, may it be some Mom & Pop hole in the wall, a truck or trailer, someone with a table set up on the sidewalk, or some older lady pushing a shopping cart or laundry basket, it’s like digging for gold you never know where it’s going to be. So I was headed out of Boyle Heights and down Marengo where in front of County USC I noticed this truck that I’ve not seen before. So I ordered 2-Carne Asada y 2-Adovada Tacos $ 1.00ea good deal, there were no lines so my food was ready quickly and I took it to my truck to eat, I did not try the green salsa but did use the red and it was very good. The Carne Asada was cooked perfectly, nicely tender, well seasoned and I used the RED salsa and it tasted great! The Adovada WOW…FULL of flavor some of the best Adovada /Al Pastor I’ve had in a while. Although I did not try it this truck unlike most Taco trucks has, Smoothies, Jujo’s, Raspado’s…pretty cool maybe I’ll try it next time! If your in the area and see this truck give them a try, the TACOS are great… but NO Carnitas :(
