The micheladas are amazing! Must try them… The food is great too: nachos, tacos. The best! I wish the place was bigger because it gets super busy and a little crowded. It is so worth the wait though. I will definitely be coming back for more micheladas and delish food!

So I went to this bar for the first time on 6÷6÷16. After reading all the positive reviews I was excited to give this place a try. I met up with a friend at around 9:30 p.m. This bar is located in a sketchy area near USC county hospital. There’s street parking if you could find a spot, or you can park in a private lot called Ralph’s Auto located next to the bar. Make sure you stow away any valuables in your car because the parking lot doesn’t look safe. So as my friend and I walked into the bar, the first thing I noticed was how small it was inside. There’s the bar to your left with about 8 stools and to your right there’s a long leather bench that uses wooden barrels as small tables. They have two flat screen TV’s that were showing the Dodgers game. So far so good. We sat ourselves at the long leather bench since my friend didn’t feel like sitting at the bar; and since it was a Monday night the place wasn’t that busy. There was only one bartender on duty and about 10 patrons in total. The female bartender with dark long hair and hipster glasses didn’t greet us or even acknowledge our presence by making eye contact. So we sat there patiently waiting for her to come up to us and take our drink order. But instead, the bartender walks right past us without even saying, «I’ll be right with you guys“and starts chatting it up with the older man sitting next to me. She even poured the rest of his beer into his glass. I was like, «are we invincible or something?» I gave her the benefit of the doubt and I thought that she was going to help us next; but I was wrong. The bartender walked past us again without helping us and instead closed out some customers at the bar that were ready to leave. By this time my friend and I are upset and angry. So I walk up to the bar and before I could speak the bartender finally says«I’ll be right with you.» So I’m like, ok, good. As I’m waiting to be helped the bartender is laughing it up with the customers that she was closing out and finally my friend tells me «let’s get out of here. I’m not spending a dime in this place.» So we left and ended up going to Barbara’s at the brewery, where we received excellent and prompt service from the bartender. I really wanted to like this place but I ended leaving with a sour taste in my mouth,(and not from the alcohol). I hope the owner of La Chuperia reads this and retrains the bartender on how to give better customer service. P. S. I guess this is a Dodgers bar because as my friend and I were leaving, a couple wearing Dodgers jerseys and hats walked in and received immediate service from the bartender. I guess you have to be either a Dodgers fan or a regular to get service here. Go figure.

so I haven’t been here in a while, me and my friend decided to come out tonight for a dinner date. The bar was pretty packed when we came in everyone was having a good time drinking beer, it didn’t take that long to order and find a seat outside in the outdoor patio. I ordered a torta and my friend ordered the nachos but asada. Something we came to notice about the nachos was that the quality of chips has gone down like they must’ve changed the chips or the way they do them because they don’t taste the same. We only come for the food since we aren’t beer people so that why we’re sad about the food today. But my torta was still on point and the meat was juicy and delicious.

Hidden dive bar with tap beer food! Free parking. $ 1.50 taco, $ 8 tortas, $ 5 shock top. Found this place near the Stronghold Climbing Gym on a Monday night. We were looking for some food. Super chill small joint. Great place to go with a friend or two to catch up. There are bar seats, and a small outdoor enclosed area. Hidden place. You can find the place by the address 1145 above the closed door. Tacos and burritos were decent. Staff suggest their tortas(pretty hefty meal). Burritos came with tortilla chips. Actually alot better than other bar food. They’re known for their Micheladas(drinks with chili and a beer upside down on it). Drinks: They have a good amount of draft beer to such a tiny place. They also have wine but thats about it. Its a beer place. Staff are friendly and open to giving suggestions. Limited parking in the back lot.

If you like micheladas this is the place to go ! Super size with shrimp and chamoy and tamarindo and a tamarindo straw ! IPAs and bunch of stuff on draft. It gets crazy busy after a LA Dodger game but the more the merrier just be patient ! Good tacos and the nachos looks crazy if you’re really hungry. Need more staff after a game but it’s all good in the hood

My new favorite place to grab a great michelada. These guys have great and fast customer service which is refreshing to know someone knows how to cater to its patrons. Area is a little sketchy but get over it. Place is also a little hidden but after a few turnabouts you’ll find it. Overall, I had a great experience. I’ll definitely be coming back. Cheers Mate!

Amazing craft beer selection, great bartenders, and delicious food. As if that weren’t enough, the atmosphere is very chill, the music selection is varied(many different genres, though always on point) and the prices are pretty reasonable given the quality. I’m glad it’s near a «rough» intersection with no sign out front– otherwise this little slice of paradise would be overrun!

I like this little spot… neighborhood gem! This place is one of the few places around that shows the Dodger games and has several large TVs. This place also has a good beer selection on tap and drink specials from local breweries. There is also a small patio with TVs and has a DJ on the weekends. There is a parking lot next door. I recommend trying the micheladas… probably some of the best around as you can see in the pictures others have posted. Next time we will try the tacos or tortas. they look pretty good! Staff is also very friendly and helpful about all the beers on taps!

Wow really good micheladas with chamoy and tamarindo I highly recommend! The food they serve looks really appetizing especially the super nachos! I only tried the carne asada tacos which were soo good! 3 stars because the location, its hidden in a dark street with no Name, it took us a while to locate this place, it looks very creepy from the outside but you know what they say«Dont judge a book by its cover» very chill bar and more of a hangout spot to talk with friends

Michelada craving… then this be ya spot. Tasty not to spicy a couple of cold shrimp and a tamarindo stick. Decent tacos at taco stand/truck prices. Then the craft beer for the beer connoisseur

Passing this by on the street you would not catch the place. It blends into the building. I heard of these micheladas in song and legend… okay… I read the reviews. Almost ALL of them raved about this majestic drink and the praise was backed up! On top of which, their al pastor quesadilla was packed with meat and yummy. I used the quesadilla to wipe the, if I’m not mistaken, chamoy/tapatio /tajin dripping off the side of my michelada. Yum! Furthermore, the service is sweet, Knowledgeable, and professional. Great craft beer!

Tacos. Burritos. Craft beer. Old-school hip-hop. All the makings of a place to hang and relax among the locals.

Service: Bartender was sweet and prompt even when she was slammed. No barback, no waitress, just her. Food: Tacos were chiquinitas size, perfect 2 – 3 bites. Al Pastor had crunchy bits. F*ck yes. Bebidas: It’s all about the michelada. I think Im ruined for life now. HOw do I even pretend any other Miche is even a legitimate miche after I’ve had the one here. Git your ass over here NOW.

How do I start this review? For anyone curious about what East L.A. has to offer then you need to come here. The perfect L.A. joint! A laid back beer & wine bar with great Mexican food & top notch craft beer selections, many times the 1st place to offer new craft beers, family owned & operated by native Angelenos. The most special item they offer is their michelada, constructed by hand so you may be waiting a few minutes for this delicious Mexican specialty drink but let me tell you it’s way worth it. This michelada includes freshly hand peeled shrimp on the rim along with cucumber slices, celery stick, special secret recipe chili paste as the base and topped of with a classic tamarindo Mexican chili candy straw! Some cheapskates will cry about the $ 12 price tag on this michelada but trust me it’s so worth it and even more worth it if you get it with a Cabotella Mexican ale(Mex craft beer) instead of the old cheap beers. Come on down and try the best michelada you’ll have in your life and while you’re there you can also try some of the best craft beers in town!

Had the michelada, which was crazy expensive. Extravagant to say the least, which I had the food but I was committed to hitting a taco truck nearby. Would do it again.

God has blessed me so much in my life so far, and one of those blessings is that La Chuperia is a short 5 minute drive from my home. This place is my version of the tv show Cheers. The family who owns it is awesome. The food is great and inexpensive! The selection of beers is great.

So, my cousin said there’s this awesome dive bar down the street from his house. Knowing I’m a big Micheladas fan he said they had the best ones. We’ll surely enough I can say this is the best Michelada I’ve had! The bartender Stephanie was totally awesome as well! Oh I forgot to mention the awesome $ 1 tacos! They’re great here as well!

This is a pretty cool place. It is literally a very hard to find hole in the wall, but once you find it, you’ll be glad you did. They work with what they have. Simple, no fuss, no muss. Good beer; good food; good prices. This is a good little dive spot for happy hour. They have a good variation of craft beers on tap. Beer snobs will be pleased. Food doesn’t offer much, so if you’re looking for variety, go elsewhere. However, what they do offer is . Their tortas are their most famous and for good reason. Solid. Really yum. Their tacos are good as well and cheap. All the time cheap, not just on Tuesday cheap. I had a chicken torta and a Michelada which was ginormous. To be honest, I wasn’t a big fan of the Michelada. Just a lot going on for my taste and I’m not a big fan of tamarindo, but it was huge and worth the money. They also have quesadillas and nachos. Didn’t try those, but I’m sure they’re just as good. This place is dark and small. There were a good amount of people here when I went, but we were also there for a happy hour event. They do have an awesome looking patio in the back that has a lot more space than the inside. Also, free parking. Can’t really beat that. All in all, a cute spot with some hard workers making sure you’re satiated with good drinks and food for a price that doesn’t break the bank. Good stuff, La Chuperia.
