I give them 1 star 1 only because the wait is not long but what can you expect there’s a reason why there’s no waiting time. Ladys working there are just gossiping about there other coworkers and are very unfriendly. Came to get my son a hair cut and they just did a poor job I most certainly will not be coming back very unwelcoming.

You know the place is dope when it has a pay phone in between two stations. Ask for Lupe. She has the window seat. She’s been cutting my hair for the last 2 ½ years, and hasn’t messed up once. Maybe because before every visit I hit up the Gold Room for a beer, and shot, and tell her to go buck wild. Lupe is also very knowledgeable on where to find the greasiest fried chicken in LA. Also its 8 bucks. Thats like 1994 Supercuts prices. Also I got to see a kid melt his face off with one of those giant hair dryers. You know the ones I’m talking about. Looks like what the state of Texas uses to execute its prison population with.

They fricken ruined my friends hair. He asked for a 1 on the sides with no hair cut off the top. They cut a 0 on the sides and took half what he had off the top. Then they made him pay. These people need to learn what the customer wants. Understand it and then cut the hair right! So unprofessional!

Just got my hair did by Lupe! Reluctant to even review this place so it doesn’t fill with SL hipsters but I want the place, and the lovely ladies who cut hair, to make the $$$. Salon is not high on ambiance or décor which just adds to it’s appeal. But is a local beauty shop filled with local clients and families and I felt completely welcomed. The wait wasn’t more than 15minutes. Spanish is mostly spoken but noticing my Spanish skills were lacking most of our conversation was in English. Lupe was super sweet and skilled. Loved how detailed she was with the cut. Don’t think I’ve ever left a cut with at least a few missed strays — until now. She’s very meticulous. Loved it! Went to pay and was told $ 8. $ 8?!? I felt ridiculously cheap. Like too cheap. This great cut is worth way more but I wasn’t gonna argue. :) I live a block away so this is without a doubt my new joint. Super excited! If u go, just remember, ask for Lupe and tip well!

I am not a high maintenance type of girl. I just have my hair trimmed once in a while. This small neighborhood salon is perfect for that. I have long hair and I need to cut the split ends very often so I always come here. The place is small, cheap and the people working there is always smiling and talkative mostly in Spanish though. They also do styles, blows, colors etc. My mom has short hair and she loves how Marylou works on her hair. So if your mom or grandma wants to get their hair pampered and cute for your cousin quinceanera for cheap you can bring them over here. The ladies & man working here works mostly as barbers ’cause haircuts are very cheap as I said earlier. They accept walk-ins but they always get appointment if you get your favorite. They’re also really good with kids’ haircuts… cranky kids that is :)

This little hole in the wall is great. Very basic, old school, not fancy by any means. Good cuts and a cheap price for LA. I like the attention to detail and they trim up your beard for a couple dollars more. Usually I walk for 15 $ including tip, ymmv. Definitely beats the 30 $ haircuts I used to get in Hollywood.
