I’ve been here twice and have had great experiences both times.
Both times, I’ve come in for a simple trim since I’m trying to grow my hair out. At every other salon I’ve been to, the stylists have never understood that I just wanted a trim and they chopped off way more than I ask them to. But Priscilla really listens and did exactly what I wanted both times I’ve come in to see her. She is sweet, welcoming, a great listener, and fast. I must have been in and out in less than 30 minutes.
And this place is so affordable! Since I’ve only wanted simple trims, I didn’t see a need to spend a ton of money on a fancy cut + frills. The trim with no styling/​blow out was $ 15. Perfect!
I will definitely keep driving out 30 minutes just to know I’m in good hands with Priscilla.

It’s been so hot and I wanted to cut my hair badly. I didn’t have enough budget to go to the salon i usually go to, so I Unilocaled the salons around my area. Most on the list are not affordable either. Luckily, i found Venus around 8^th of the list. I called and inquired and they gave me a reasonable price. My son and I were supposed to go tomorrow (Saturday), but I impulsively decided to just go today instead. We came at 630pm. We were immediately greeted by Priscilla. I asked if they could still accommodate us (knowing they close at 7pm) and she did. I have special needs son, who is fully dependent. But Priscilla was so gentle, compassionate and patient with him. And she did a very good job on his haircut. I love it so much! He looks so good in it.
Priscilla was very attentive to detail. She asked the length and what kind of haircut I wanted, and then she suggested what she thought would look good on me. I agreed on her suggestion. She listened to the things I wanted and executed it on my unruly hair well. She even blow dried my hair, even if I did not request for it. She said she wanted to see how it looks when it’s dried. I like what she did to my hair. It’s something new for me. And new is good right?!
The staff were very friendly. And they didn’t mind staying even after their closing time. Im so glad I found this place. I will definitely go back. Thank you Priscilla!

Priscilla transformed me from a dark brunette to a lovely blonde. Priscilla did a great job on my hair and was very attentive throughout the entire process. Everyone in the salon was extremely friendly and my experience was very enjoyable! I can’t wait to be back and go even more blonde (:

I needed a trim and started looking around on Unilocal and in my neighborhood for the cheapest salon I could find. I have the most basic haircut, I have long straight hair and it’s all the same length, no layers. All I wanted was an inch off the ends but every salon I visited wanted to charge me $ 60 minimum! I’ve had my share of awful haircuts before so I was a bit hesitant but finally decided on Venus II after reading Unilocal reviews. They were awesome, I was in and out in 10 minutes and it cost me $ 15. Exactly what I wanted, a simple easy trim and every dollar worth it. No wait, didn’t even blow dry (I didn’t want any styling, just the cut) and I could get to my next appointment in perfect time. Love this place.

This place is great, low key and very sweet people. Priscila helped me right away and everybody was super friendly and positive. I speak Spanish, so we had a great time speaking in Spanish and laughing. Great price too. Overall an excellent experience. Mil gracias Priscila!

Pricilla was amazing and so kind to me. She took time to give me the exact cut I wanted and it came out perfect. She was respectful and courteous and full of smiles. The other two ladies were so nice. Also, they sang and made everything light and comfortable. I will only get my hair cut here and styled. The wash cut and style was only $ 20 and had an amazing blow dry session that almost put me to sleep! Thanks Pricilla!

I went to Venus 2 weeks ago and got my nails done by Priscilla I went with natural nails with just a clear coat, I wanted to give them a break from gel. She did such a great job they sill look clean and fresh! Just what I wanted!
I know I only went for my nails but I’ve seen her work on color and cuts and they’re so good! Maybe my next visit I’ll change up my hair color for the new year! Yay thanks Prisci!

I decided to try Venus II Salon after reading some of the reviews below. I needed a hair cut ASAP after a lame layered style I got at Rudy’s a couple months before.
WOW, Priscilla is the best!
First off, if you are latina you will love this salon. The minute I arrived Priscilla was so welcoming, there was no wait and we were able to chat a bit before, all in spanish. :)
I showed her the cut I wanted and she did it swiftly. She knows what she’s doing. It was perfect! I love my hair!

I truly love this hair salon.
Reasons why:
1) Priscilla, the hair stylist, and her husband are so friendly, and always make you feel in community. It’s a really comfortable environment, and I love their storytelling!
2) I’ve gotten 3 hair cuts here thus far, and Priscilla is always exactly able to do the pixie-​cut style I show her in a photo! Also, whenever I’d like a slight adjustment, Priscilla handles it no problem.
3) As an Asian American, it’s always a major relief when a hairdresser knows how to work with your hair texture. Thank you Priscilla!
4) LAST BUT NOT LEAST, the prices here are the best. I’ve only been able to maintain this pixie cut because each hair cut is only $ 15 – for such great quality!

I’ve been coming here for a few years now and everyone super friendly. The place is looking really good lately with the remodeling .In The silverlake area you won’t find another hair salon like this one. Today I got my hair ombré and long bangs with Cristina. I usually make drastic changes to my hair and always come with her She does an amazing job! All the stylists there are well experienced. If you want a vintage up do ask for Lupita or if you want a good blow dry ask for Priscilla they offer very reasonable prices. Oh yeah ! let’s not forget the mani and pedi with Cristina she also does really cute nail art just tell her what you want and she’ll probably nail it !!! lol get it?

When I caught wind of the fact that getting highlights here would cost me $ 40*, my window-​shopping curiosity turned into a sale. Boy was this my lucky day! Priscilla, who assured me right away that her english was terrible (it was not), took me into her friendly, happy fold, and cleaned me right up. I’ve now got blonde highlights and brown lowlights that look freaking great. And a great little pixie cut to boot. If you’re wanting a haircut and wondering where to go, I’ll give you three reasons why Venus II should be in your «yes» pile:
1. You’ll get a Silverlake haircut for East LA prices;
2. You can practice your spanish. Or just zone out and snooze (which happened to me during the shampoo)
3. Priscilla works there. Who is happy and great and who likes to sing along to the 80’s rock/​pop Pandora, and it’s nice.
*Note: my hair is very short. It’s probably more than $ 40 for highlights on longer hair. But, stiiiiilll…

Super friendly attentive Latina hair salon. I walked in at 4pm on a Saturday. Victor Lavoe’s greatest hits was playing on the silver stereo system, a two tiered strawberry white cake with blue and pink frosting was cut into pieces for customers and staff to grab, two ladies were laughing with customers as they were giving manicures, a elderly Mexican Señora was asleep in her chair by the front door, then Lupita greeted me. How could I not stay? $ 15 for a hair cut and $ 20 for a blow dry. I’m in. Plus I got to sit next to a 85 year old lady as we both got our hair dried by an old helmet over our head dryer. The atmosphere is sweet and welcoming as your grandmas house. If you mind the constant Spanish being spoken as you dance in your seat. Parking available in the back or on the street, metered. Credit Card use to pay for services they charge $ 2.00
