New favorite spot !!! I can get my vegan burger my boyfriend can get his real burger and we are both super happy!!! I get extra thousand island cuz I think it can be a little dry without it ! Everyone who works there is so sweet, food is out fast and it’s never wrong !(My boyfriend and his kids modify everything) the parking is a little annoying but if you don’t feel like driving around snd around there is a lot for $ 5 super close by. Also just discovered scoops is within waking distance ! Score! LOVETHISPLACE !

Man I freakin love this place. Somewhere I can walk to from downtown that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg and isn’t trying to be super fancy. So I’m vegetarian and they have good veggie burgers and you can also get vegan cheese. The fries are great, you can get Mexican cokes, and you get to sit in the cool little pedestrian area. What’s not to love? Why go the same old suburban crap like In an Out or whatever when you go to this place?

Honestly, there’s so much hype for this burger place and I have no idea why! First of all, it’s $ 5 for a dinky little burger that tastes disgusting and $ 2 for fries! Plain fries! Ridiculous if you ask me. If you’re gonna charge $ 2 for plain fries at least make them garlic fries or a bigger portion. I still don’t get why the price is so much for their food. Is it cause they’re going for a hipster vibe, so they up the prices? I have no idea. Regardless, this place isn’t worth it. Just stick to in n out and shake shack when it opens in LA in the coming months.

I was craving a burger for lunch and needed a place near some kind of public transportation line. Burgerlords is a short walk from the Chinatown Gold Line station. You can find it in between the statues of Bruce Lee and Dr. Sun Yat Sen. I went at about 1:15 on a weekday and there was barely anyone there. One table was full but i think it was the owners talking their buddies. I walked up to the counter and ordered a cheeseburger combo with grilled onions and a coke. It took about 5 minutes for my order to come out which is nice because i know they had to cook the fries fresh for it to take that long. While waiting there was a crazy guy riding his bike with one leg up showing everyone his oranges(actual fruit you sick-o’s) The burger itself is a grass fed beef patty with a thin slice of tomato, cheese, lettuce, thousand island and grilled onions. You can really taste the quality of the beef even though the burger was thin. Since everyone seems to compare this to in n out i’ll say its a high quality in n out burger. The burger itself was satisfying and pretty good. The price was not. I expected a little thicker patty but i can always get the double cheeseburger next time. The thing people always rave about are the fries. I will admit the fries are nicely cooked. crunchy and starchy like a good quality potato should be. My fries were over salted, however. I tried to dust off some of the salt but it was just too much. I had to drink my coke in between bites of fries to try to wash out the saltiness. Next time i’ll order my fries light on the salt and it will be perfect. Overall i would probably come back if craving a burger but my total meal was almost $ 10 so its not going to be very often.

I once met an «entrepreneur» who, when I asked what his business plan was, said, «well there’s always a Pepsi to a Coke, always a Burger King to a McDonalds» and proceeded to tell me how he would copy an existing business with no shame or self awareness. Burgerlords is one of those businesses. Whoever created this place has so little creativity they just wanted to copy In-N-Out, an already massive restaurant chain exclusive to this region. They even referenced In-N-Out when describing the size of their patties to me. It makes me scratch my head thinking why someone would go to the trouble. I guess there are some differences — the burger isn’t as good, the prices are higher, and they charge for extra sauce. And unlike In-N-Out there aren’t any lines.

I loved how simple this burger and its ingredients were. Lettuce, onions, cheese, dressing, patty, and bread… and it was pretty darn good. It did remind me of a small town version of In n Out. Although nothing compares to In n Out in my opinion, this little burger did leave a lasting impression. The patty was juicy and I loved how the cheese melted over every angle of the patty. Only downfall to this place is there isn’t any indoor seating. I’m rather sensitive to smokers so I don’t like smelling that when I’m eating. I made due though. If you’re in the area, please try this spot. Preferably on a warm day ;)

Gave it an extra star for effort and because it makes for a good picture. Well at least for the first and last time I ever took a picture since I’ll never go back. Small patty burnt bun overpriced too many hipsters are all reasons I wouldn’t return. I think it’s a cross between an in n out wannabe and a diner style burger but doesn’t have enough flavor of either. It did wash the shitty taste of pok pok out of my mouth though so kudos to that haha

Good food. A previous comparison of this to In N Out nails my experience exactly. The sponge bread I had was crisper, though, and the quality of the meat is better than In N Out as well as the ingredients in general. However, this was not enough to outshine how similar the experience was to any visit to In N Out. I also felt the patties were way thin, but I prefer thicker patties in general. The fries, on the other hand, I felt were excellent — shoestring with skin on and nicely seasoned with salt flakes. They were crisp and fresh tasting, and not heavy with oil. I can see why another reviewer nearby to the downtown location says he frequents Burgerlords for the fries. Its nice that Mexican coke is also available here.

Where can you go get a Shake Shack-like burger in LA right now before they invade In-N-Out home turf in WeHo and Glendale? Chef Andre Guerrero’s(Oinkster, Maximilliano restaurants) sons have opened up a burger window in the middle of Chinatown serving some of the best burgers in LA using grass-fed beef. It’s not a restaurant, but a window with communal tables and benches in the plaza. Since my last visit in October, I read that they’ve added more seating and tables. Burgerlords is THE place to go for a simple, well-made burgers in Downtown LA. It’s not cheap because they’re using better ingredients. I imagine people griping about the cost and comparing it to the less expensive In-N-Out. There’s another place at Santa Monica pier similar to Shake Shack as well, but I haven’t been there yet probably because I hate dealing with parking in Santa Monica. I don’t think you can compare this with In-N-Out, but a fair comparison would be Shake Shack once it arrives in LA. You can’t even compare it with a gastropub burger like at Father’s Office or Golden State. Burgerlords is probably in between your classic stand-bys Bill’s Hamburger/Apple Pan/In-N-Out burger and a higher-end gastropub burger. Not a fancy burger, but a burger that tastes delicious and is also photo friendly for Instagram! I can tell you that their fries are also better than In-N-Out. You can probably get an egg on it so ask. I asked, but they were out.

Delicious burgers in Chinatown. These burgers are made fresh to order and they are very similar tasting as in n out. One of the main differences here is that they offer vegan burgers and they have bottles sodas that you get with a combo. Overall delicious burgers you can enjoy while you walk through Chinatown.

So, finally got around to trying out Burger Lords and have to say it was a pretty amazing burger. A lot of people I know always compare this place to In-N-Out, but they really shouldn’t because each place has their own unique taste. The place is just a tad bit tiny, but they do have couple of benches and tables to sit where you can enjoy your meal. The staff was really friendly and they occasionally bring the food to you. Burger lords has grass-fed burgers, which is always a plus. The double cheeseburger I got was simple, yet juicy and flavorful. It wasn’t messy at all, which was great because you don’t want your burger falling apart on you halfway through the meal. The fries were mighty tasty and had little to no salt. Only sauces they had were ketchup and thousand and thats all you really need for these burgers, honestly. My only complaint was not in regards to the restaurant itself, just the location. Trying to find parking was absolute hell, but that’s not going to stop me from going back. I would recommend this place to all my friends!

Burgerlords, I think I love you. What an excellent vegan burger! The flavor was unique, the patty stayed together nicely enough, the bun is just the right size. Lettuce, tomato, and thousand island that enhance, not overwhelm. Oh, but those fries. Crispy outside, soft inside, and not too greasy… I can’t stop thinking about you Burgerlords, I miss you already.

My first review of 2016! I always carefully choose my first review of the year and makes sense that it’s a burger joint. I love a damn good cheeseburger. And ever since I moved away from Cali, it’s hard not to miss In N Out. But while I was back for the holidays, I actually ended up going here first. And was not disappointed at all. Except for the parking… or the lack thereof, I should say. I suggest not coming here on a Sunday afternoon bc there are legit 10 churches surrounding this place and street parking was almost impossible to find. We finally gave up and decided to park a couple blocks away, pass Phở 87. Burgerlords is located in the Chinatown plaza and hard to miss with its huge white sign. There is only outdoor seating available and you order through a window. Our burgers came out fairly quickly! The cheeseburger was juicy and satisfied my craving of a damn good and simple, no frills cheeseburger. It has thousand island dressing, lettuce, tomato, and no pickles. Thank gawd. The fries are nothing special but I can’t eat a burger without fries. Burger comes with mini Burgerlord flags… which I obviously kept bc when does my burger ever come with a mini flag that is well designed.

Came here on a cold Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately this place is limited to outdoor seating, so if it’s cold get your food to go unless you want to sit outside and freeze(probably a better summer time burger spot). The vegan cheese burger here is pretty solid. Add a Mexican Coke to the equation and you’ve got as good of a vegan burger as you could get anywhere else in the city. The fries are average. Not bad, not amazing. I would say if you’re in the area and craving a burger it would be worth it to try this place out. It’s located in Chinatown so that means that parking is an absolute nightmare and you’d be lucky to find metered parking on the street.

This is exactly like in n out with thinner onions, grass fed beef and better fries. Also there was less grease. Plus, mexicoke. So, it is superior to in n out. It’s location is inconvenient, but the plaza is really cute and enjoyable to look at while eating. Would not be surprised if this place becomes a highly successful chain.

3.5 stars I had the cheeseburger combo and like most people, I didn’t think it was on par with in-n-out. The lettuce isn’t as crispy, and the buns are not toasted. I also was expecting a thicker patty. The fries, however, were surprisingly good– better than any fries I’ve had in the area. The menu is simple and the service was friendly. I’m not sure if they really intended to be compared to in-n-out but when your burger emulates the classic, American chain then you should expect some comparisons. Overall not bad. I’d go back for the fries but the burger was just ok. There are better burgers at Hache and Black Sheep at the same price point. — Parking: Street parking can be tough on Broadway especially with all the construction going on. I’d suggest parking on Alameda(for free) and walking a couple blocks.

A vegan burger that doesn’t fall apart? That alone deserves 4 stars. I love veggie burgers(even when I am eating meat) and Burgerlords makes a very delicious veggie patty. It is formed and seasoned well and holds together to the very last bite. Burgerlord also serves up very tasty fries — made to order and perfectly crispy. Great place to grab a burger and fries made from quality ingredients(and Mexican Coke if you want) — will try a hamburger when I decide to eat meat again.

I would like to put this little guy next to my cheek to nuzzle it; little soft bun, perfectly wrapped up little package of quality goodness. Cute ass little toothpick with a burger flag on it, you left me craving some more. Dare I say In-n-Out but better? Fries are super crispy, warm crunchy compliment to the cutest burger I’ve ever seen. Grilled onions, fresh greens, not too much sauce– didn’t even miss the cheese. Burger lords indeed, had it for lunch and considered it again for dinner.

I recently saw a posting on a social network that a new burger joint had set up shop in Chinatown for about 2 weeks. So I decided to go on a food mission to try their burger. Facts: The owners that own burgerlords are related to the owner of Oinksters in Eagle Rock. Key points: Vegan friendly. They offer vegan beef patties and cheese. They also offer grassfed beef. These are the main points that differentiates itself from In-N-Out. Just a healthier choice. Price point: Pricy for a small burger. You’re basically paying for the grassfed beef and vegan patties. Location/Parking: Use to be located where starry kitchen use to be. Ample amount of meter parking and $ 5 all day parking lot. Ambiance/Décor: Be social and talk with other patrons on their outside wooden benches. There’s no indoor seating. Service: Very good. Staffer was very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about their products. Food came out at an acceptable time. Food: I ordered the cheese burger combo($ 9.25) which came with unsalted kennebec fries($ 2.00) and a bottled soda. The burger($ 5.50. Custom tri-blend, grass-fed beef on a sponge bun with lettuce, tomato, onion, thousand and American Cheese.), didn’t meet my expectations. I felt it was like a watered down version of In-N-Out’s cheese burger. Knowing that the beef patty was grassfed did make me feel that I was eating a little healthier. Vegan eaters will love this place!

All the the in-n-wait fans will pour the hate on here for being too expensive. «I can get a double double meal for less!!» They love to deal with drive thru car-snarling and the wait times to save a few bucks. Okay. For the slight premium here, you get grass fed beef, heartier beef flavor, and sharper patty seasoning. I didn’t have much fuss getting the food or a seat even during Ciclavia. Tables are communal but don’t worry everyone’s busy stuffing their face or using their phones.
